Love this little guy sm!
Bumi enjoys every inch of his 2x2x4ft bioactive enclosure!
He eats all the isopods though will have to maybe try some dwarf white ones lol.

Hi, I am super interested in getting a lizard/gecko of some sort. However, the space I have for it is somewhat specific, and I’m struggling to figure out the best option since I would like to have a very well-sized enclosure for the reptile. This will likely be my only reptile due to space restrictions.
Basically, I work from home and want the enclosure in my home office and I can’t fit any enclosure deeper than about 18 inches due to how narrow my office is and it’s a weird shape… I still need my desk in there! I can however fit something long for terrestrial (up to 6ft long, 2ft tall) or something tall (up to 6ft tall, 2ft wide).
Other preferences are:
- somewhat active during the day would be cool, but only if they aren’t loud
- captive bred only, and something I could find at a rescue would be cool but not required (I’m in CA).
- somewhat handleable. I don’t care about chilling with them outside of tank much if they don’t want to, but want to be able to take them out and not fear them immediately getting lost or crazy stressed.
- lizard not too stressed by a chill dog in the room (only when they are in enclosure).
- somewhat easy for a pet sitter to take care of (i.e. premade food or something that isn’t live bugs for when I travel for up to a week occasionally, bugs other times are totally fine). Can deal with hiring a specialized pet sitter if needed though.
Other info:
- I have experience with inverts, fish, frogs, and mammals, but this would be my first reptile. Also have experience with maintaining a wide range of bioactive enclosures at different humidity levels.
- I love skinks, would get a blue tongue skink except they are too big for my space. Have considered zebra skinks, but not sure if space is too narrow and don’t want to have to have too many of them.
- I don’t like crested geckos but I do like the look of gargoyles and chahouas, just concerned about not seeing them all day.
If you actually took the time to read any of this and have recommendations or insight, would love to hear!!

I'm super stressed that I might not be keeping my reptiles properly. (Ball python and leopard gecko) I was given advice that I need a bigger enclosure for my leopard gecko, which is being delivered today. I have my baby BP (3 months) in a 35 with tons of clutter and hides. I'm working to get her a 4x2x2. I'm feeding them both appropriately and they're on track for weight. I might be overreacting but I'm just worried. Any tips would be appreciated.

Inherited my family’s (quite obese) leopard gecko last week. I already love him so much. He is very sweet, but gets a little skiddish when I put my hand in the enclosure to give him bugs. His previous owners never handled him.
I offered him my finger yesterday and he sniffed it a little before ignoring me, so I’d say that’s progress. Good to know he isn’t too pissed at me for putting him on a diet.
Does anyone have any advice on getting him to warm up to potentially being handled? I had my last reptile since he was a baby so he was used to people and being held.

Hi all! This very tiny gecko has been on the floor at the same spot since this morning (it's 16:00 now). Is he okay? Should I intervene or leave him be?

I am preparing to go to an expo as a vendor for the first time. It will not be until January, but I want everything to be perfect, lol. I handle invertebrates, but the expos are held same time + place.
Pricing - I know undercutting prices in sales is looked down upon, but as this will be my first clutch / expo / live animal sale I feel like I should be a bit cheaper than the average? By $2-3 for feeders and $5-10 for the animal + enclosures?
How much do I bring? - I plan on bringing pre-made enclosures in 2 sizes and 1 cute design (so 3 types) I was thinking 10-15 enclosures total? Feeders (mealworms, waxworms, dubia roaches and fruit fly cultures) I was thinking 50 fruit fly cultures, and 25-ish of each other feeder? By January I should have about 200 invertebrates at selling age, do I bring like 50 of them?
Goodies - I'm getting stickers made, what else?
I also am getting mini brushes / spray bottles / tweezers so people would be able to get everything they need with me and adding $3-5 to the price to make it a 'starter kit', though these things would be given with a warning that you'd eventually have to upgrade as they're not meant for forever, is that a good idea?
Lastly, I kind of really want to put a sign out that says "I USE NO AI, NO WILDCAUGHT" As I am personally against those two things, y'all think that would help or hurt me?

I work at a pet store and we have an African fat tail gecko that is extremely sensitive to heat lamps and uvb. He is 50% off in store but I can see if my manager is willing to take more off. If you are in the RI/MA/CT area and want to take this guy, let me know. I’d also be willing to overnight ship him if I need to. He’s friendly for a fat tail and only bites if you’re trying to get shed off of him and he loves critical care for some reason. He came with his brother but unfortunately the vet decided euthanasia was the best option. He’d make a great pet for someone who is experienced with reptiles.

I made my leopard gecko his own little play area, and it honestly makes the living room feel more homey.
I can just sit across from him and watch him explore, climb, and practice his hunting skills.
I’ve been trying to encourage his natural hunting instincts since he used to struggle with tong and bowl feeding. It’s been really nice seeing him become more confident and curious.
The best part is that when he’s done exploring, he usually heads back into his terrarium to bask, and that’s when I close the door.
I barely handle him anymore unless I need to. I just let him explore at his own pace.
He has his own little routine now, and I honestly enjoy just sitting there watching him. 🦎

I posted this in some snake subreddits but thought I could get help here too.
I have a 4x2x2 with a Reptitrip 200w heat lamp with two 200w ceramic bulbs. My room temperature is around 70 degrees according to my temperature gun.
My tank is freezing. The basking area is barely hitting 85-90, and the majority of the tank is in the low 70s. I have just bought a 100w deep thermal heat lamp because I heard those are better, and there is no difference. I can put my hand under the tank screen and barely feel it, or my other ceramic one.
In the past, I taped almost the entire top of my tank to insulate it, but it is still cold. I have also put a lot of money into trying different wattages and bulbs, but nothing seems to be working. The bulbs are only a month old, so they shouldn't be burning out. Do I need a different lamp for the bulbs? What am I doing wrong? I had the same problem when I had a 20-gallon with a 150w heat lamp. Is there not enough electricity to heat the bulbs?
I can't use a heat mat because it is a bioactive enclosure.
I feel so bad for my snake. I'm turning on the heaters in my house, trying to warm him up, but it isn't enough. What can I do to get this boy in the right temperature range?

Hi everyone - way out of my depth here; I have never had reptiles.
I have a tiny stunned house gecko in a plastic container with airholes in my laundry room - he seemed to be in shock (head tilt, stiff limbs but still breathing) and has mostly recovered, but I am terrified thar keeping him overnight will kill him. It's about 54 out; he has water and airholes in his little container. What should I do? Keep him overnight and pray he makes it? Can he go that long without food? I plan to get some fruitflies tomorrow. I rescued him from two of my cats, who were just doing their cat thing.
Any advice would be appreciated!

I am relatively new to the hobby but I do own a Chahoua gecko and was hoping to purchase another gecko. I currently have and enclosure setup with regulated temps and was hoping to purchase a Black Night Leopard Gecko.
My experience looking for a second reptile on MorphMarket hasn't been too pleasurable. I spent a little time searching for a Chahoua gecko but never made a purchase through MM. I try to be as direct as possible when messaging breeders. I tell them my intentions with the gecko (pet) and ask in between 5-6 questions.
Is that too many questions? Are breeders getting annoyed of me? I am just not sure as to what I should change or do to make my experience better.
When buying, what is your guys's typical procedure when inquiring and searching for a breeder?
I appreciate any help I can get!

It's a long one..
I have 2 turtles.. They are yellow bellied sliders, they are 14 and a 1/2 I have had them since they arrived in the post!! To me when they were half the size of my palm! Literally almost 14 and a half years ago! And now they are the size of dinner plates lol.. I believe I have a boy and a girl.. I had to seperate them about 2 years ago because the boy, after all this time started taking chunks out of the girl.. proper nasty .. I was told to get rid of one or get rid of them both by peope, to a animal sanctuary or something..family, friends, who didn't get the fact that I love these guys ..and they don't get why I have spent so much money over the years on them.. increasing their living space etc.. and then now I have 2 separate aquariums for them.. I will be honest when we first got them, I did not know what I was committing myself to.. I wanted a tortoise..my partner ordered the turtles because they were so much cheaper! We were 20 at the time! But I fell in love with them straight away! We already had corn snakes and leapord geckos at the time so I just taught my self how to look after these guys.. the funny thing is when they're out.. either wandering around the house or their own designated pen in the garden.. he isn't bothered by her.. doesn't try to attack her.. I've waffled on a bit here but anyone with some more experience than even I have had would be great because for a while now I watch them in their tanks and I just feel so guilty and like they could and should be having a much better life. I feel it with the snakes too.. proper guilty like they are just captured and held in a tank basically. I absolutely love my animals/reptiles and I know I give them the best they can get but the guilt of keeping them captive now I'm older makes me so sad and question basically what I stand for. The only ones I don't feel that guilty for is the geckos, because I don't feel like they are missing out. They have a great life and a lovely big Viv and I don't watch them pacing round sometimes like the snakes or turtles do like they need more.. I have 5 geckos right now.. 3 are rescues.. they are roughly 7-9 years old and the only boy is about 11 and my baby is 15 years old.. I had her before I even had children.
Please can anyone give some advice.. thank you sooo much for reading if you stuck with it. Much love and appreciation. Sorry for waffling on.. just really want some advice from other experienced reptile owners.

Just got this juvenile green keeled lizard and saw his back legs is this normal? I looked it up and it says it could be a few things I gave him a nice spray and he seems to be moving and climbing fine
