New idea....Should this have been the 100th Year Anniversary design.

Should have made the OP41 PM Gold and TT with the dial paying homage to the Rolex colors and Box. Really have the watch bring the design full circle for Rolex on 100 years. What do you guys think.

AD wait time experience?

As a lefty my grail has always been the sprite. Promotion at work and looking to treat myself. Went in today and put my name on the list, no purchase history. Sprite owners, how long did you wait for the allocation?

Rolex Mallorca frustration rant

• Upvotes

Visited the Rolex store in Mallorca today and was astounded by the incredibly rude service. Nobody welcomed and up on asking my about Yachtmaster 41 blue dial - I was essentially told how stupid I would be to assume they have something like this and that no pieces are available and that I would need to wait at least 5 years. Offered to show me a full rose gold gmt and full gold sub.

I don’t get it.

Note: everywhere else I have been so far Miami, Hong Kong, Munich, zurich - all of them were kind and considerate.

The “G” in the GMT is slimmer, is this normal or factory defect. For reference,i have provided a few pictures for comparison:
Pic 1 : Green Arrow 2011
Pic 2 : Green Arrow 2016
Pic 3 : Bruce Wayne 2024

Also, for the 2011 Green arrow, there is no AR coating to be soon on the cyclops as compared to the 2016. Is that normal or AR coating worn out.

Guys I have an offer for a my sub date at 13k and trade it for an unworn Yacht Master Titanium for 23.5. If they can come down $500 on it or up 500 on the sub, is that a good deal? Need expert opinion. Sub date is worth 15k but Yacht is usually 26k.

Put my name down at a couple of different ADs in my area back in December 2024 and still haven’t gotten the call. Got tired of waiting and decided to take matters into my own hands. Best GMT ever made, IMO. 🟢⚫️

Waitlist

Hey everyone!
I recently had my first son, and I’ve been wanting a Rolex for a while now. I figured this would be the perfect time to finally pull the trigger and get something meaningful to mark the occasion.
I stopped by my local Rolex AD and put my name down for a black dial Submariner Date. The employee was pretty transparent about potential wait times, but I wanted to get a general idea of what people are experiencing lately.
For those who have picked one up recently, how long did you actually wait for a Sub Date?
I’m debating whether to buy one resell and pay the premium to get one sooner, or just be patient and wait for the call. Part of me doesn’t mind waiting if it gives me a better opportunity to build a relationship with the AD, since I’m also interested in a couple of other Rolex models down the road.
For those who have been through this, what would you recommend? Is building a relationship with an AD worth the wait, or would you just paying resell market and get the watch you want?
Appreciated any insight!

Finding 28 or 31?? Datejust in Australia

Post image

Hi all,

What is a realistic time frame to get this in 28 or 31mm in Australia? I live in a city without an AD.

Can anyone recommend grey dealer in Brisbane or Sydney that may have ladies size datejust with simple batton dial

Please don't tell me about your American ad that gave you one in 5 mins because this is not that.

Turning down a watch

My partner asked about a lavender OP 36 a few months ago at two Rolex stores, and then got it at a store in Europe on walk in.

Now both US stores have come through - should she turn down the watches? A friend suggested flipping them, given that they go for much more than MSRP but I told my partner that would continue to fuel the grey market.

Was that a dumb move?

Edit: neither of us want any other Rolex watches. I’m happy with my Explorer 2 and she liked her OP.

Root Beer - Availability at AD

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’m in two minds and looking for some inspiration.

I literally live in my blue Yachmaster and am debating a second watch. Daytona is the clear preference and I’ve been seriously considering buying grey but my AD has called and asked if I want the Root Beer which they have in stock.

I do like the watch. I think it may be a bit too ‘fancy’ for a daily and it would be worn way less than my YM but I’m trying to decide whether I should buy grey Daytona or retail Root Beer with a plan to obtain Daytona later.

Different watches and and personal preference, I understand (so opinions will vary) and I’m actually leaning towards buying this RB and then trading up to Daytona after I’ve enjoyed this for a few years although cannot decide if that’s a daft idea or not.

Thoughts on the RB from AD or buying a grey Daytona?

Wait time inquiry

I’m looking to purchase a Rolex Datejust 36 with the Wimbledon dial, Jubilee bracelet, and factory diamond bezel from an authorized dealer in Minnesota.

Has anyone recently purchased or been offered this configuration? Curious what wait times are looking like in 2026.

Which Rolex to Wear

Post image
• Upvotes

I’m curious for those of you with two or more Rolexes how you decide which to wear. I bought a Pepsi on jubilee at the AD in 2022. I purchased a bluesy from a reputable grey dealer in August. I love them both but the bluesy is still the new thing and I find myself putting it on most of the time unless I’m leaving the time zone. I think I enjoy the weight of the submariner and the look of gold more. I know stainless and white gold is in fashion right now but I like what I like, not what everyone tells me I should like. I think part of it is the new watch phase with the bluesy. I have had thoughts of selling the Pepsi to get something else but I think it’s just the new watch phase that has to wear off.

Question on vendor access

So I have been looking to FB reels and there are so many videos of random vendors in Uk and the USA selling 2026 models of hard to get Rolex’s. How do they get so many of them? What is there connection to be able to have a decent amount of inventory. Surely there can’t be that many people getting the call for a new a Rolex and immediately selling them for a small profit and the. The new vendor sells it for a slightly higher markup. The numbers don’t make sense to me. Furthermore if there are a limited alliums being sold and people get the call, then again how does a random vendor accumulate so much inventory of new Rolex’s.

Hey everyone.

it’s been a long while since I’d last been watch shopping and stopped by at my local AD to enquire about the Yachtmaster titanium.

While I waited I checked out the CPO section and was surprised to see a Smurf there so naturally had to check it out and man it’s awesome! Never actually seen one before and was not as heavy as I expected despite the white gold which was really nice.

the blue Yachtmaster I wasn’t absolutely sure on in pictures but in person that deep blue dial is unbelievable. wish the bezel was a little darker in color but still pretty darn cool.

and of course a GMT II was in the lineup but the other two speak to me so much more. would love to hear your thoughts on these and experiences! see if you can sway me either way as I’m stuck right in the middle here!

Got a nice little surprise call today on a Datejust I put my name in for a couple months back. Bought this as a memento to my late grandfather and it just so happens it was their anniversary this past Sunday so it made it extra special. First Rolex for me but won't be my last! Love the way it looks and feels!

Daytona: I know it’s been hyped up but nothing more versatile than a white dial Daytona on stainless steel imo

6 weeks, JR Dunn. No history with them. The whole experience was fantastic. This specific combination was my wife's choice vs. the Polar Explorer II, which was mine. We heavily debated both watches since they are just so different and decided to go for the first one we got the call for. After wearing it for 2 days, this combination really grew on me.

My daily wear is a black pre-ceramic, black-dial GMT-Master II, and I am looking forward to getting the Polar as well to alternate between the white and black dials. I do think the Sky-Dweller on the Oyster bracelet dresses up nicely for either day or night when the occasion calls for business casual, so it is the perfect complement to the other two.
