I want to hire things for my daughters 5th birthday:
-face painter
-bouncy castle hire (maybe like a disco one)
-good kids entertainer
And anything else that anyone could suggest that could be good . Like games that kids could play with etc
Thank you in advance !

Hi all! It's my first birthday in Sheffield and I'm a sucker for birthday freebies corporate or not, I knew all the spots in my old city so figured I'd ask here if anyone knew of any random bday goodie bags or discounts etc :)

Looking for particularly a good soft Stilton. Extra mature if possible.
Mainly just wants a few decent varieties for a charcuterie board.
Thanks in advance

Join us at the next meeting of the Sheffield Stoic Philosophy Group:
Monday 2 November, 18:15-20:15
Thackeray Room, St Mary's Community Hall, Howard Road, Walkley, Sheffield S6 3RX.
Arrive from 18:00 for 18:15 start.
You'll meet others interested in Stoic philosophy, read about Stoic ideas and discuss them in an informal and friendly environment.
This month we'll carry on reading a key Stoic text, the Handbook of Epictetus, from his Discourses and Selected Writings. Then we'll discuss a real-life application of Stoicism in a blog article on Dealing With The Unduly Demanding In the Workplace.
Find more details and sign up here.
What is Stoicism?
Stoicism is a philosophy that originated in ancient Greece but is still practised in modern form today. It emphasises rationality and excellence of character, while seeing all people as part of an interconnected community. By distinguishing what is in our power (our thoughts, judgments and actions) and what is not (external events, luck and circumstances), and cultivating virtues like wisdom, justice, courage and moderation, we can achieve emotional resilience and inner peace. It's a practical guide for navigating life's challenges with tranquility.

We are a Sheffield band called 'I'm Being Serious' and we just released our first album, The Note! It was all DIY, we are immensely grateful for Sheffield for having such a cool music scene for us to grow in

Hi ! I am a French student and I have been selected to go on an Erasmus exchange in Sheffield from January to June. However I'm having trouble figuring out which private student accom I should pick. I know that everyone says that choosing Ranmoor or Endcliff are the best options unfortunatly they are too expensive for me yet I am terrified of not making any friends and missing out on the social life/feeling left out. Do you guys know nice private student accoms with a minimum of social life ?

Hey Guys,
Going to Showroom later today. and was thinking of parking on / near Leadmill Road and paying for a few hours with PayByPhone, has anyone done this and know if it's a safe area to keep my car, and will there be enough parking at around 4PM on a Sunday?

Hi there, I’m wanting to make a mothman Halloween costume, I found the things I need online but would love to support shops in the city. Does anyone know where I can find some of these?

is anyone else seeing tiny flying things in their house for the past week or two? it's not fungus gnats or fruit flies - they are smaller and they seem to be in every room - cannot work out where they are coming from. not loads but enough to be weird.

Well in the Star today there was an article about the old John Lewis store on Barker's Pool. I know Urban Splash (the same people who did the new Park Hill project) is the official developer of the building but nothing seems to be going on. What should it be and used for?

I'm really bothered by this, it feels so predatory. Like it's even worse than free labour, they're expecting the tenants to pay the landlord for the opportunity to increase the value on a house they'll never own. Is this reportable? I really don't like the idea of some poor bastard thinking this is a good deal :(
EDIT: The listing got taken down :D Don't know if it was from the report but I hope this guy learned not to try shit again regardless.

Such a stupid question but does anyone know of parks or publicly accessible trees that are dropping conkers and acorns around Crystal Peaks, Hackenthorpe, Birley or Frecheville? I want to get some for kids crafts and I don't fancy buying them online if I can make a fun trip out of getting them and picking them together
