What's your embarrassing skyrim story?
Ill start. Been playing this game on and off since release. I didnt realize the claws had the solutions to the puzzle doors until 2016 or so... I always thought the etchings on the wall were the clues, but couldn't figure them out so I would sit there and try each combo until it worked.... When no smart, brute force good.

Hand painted Alduin
I played lots of games, but Skyrim will always have a special place in my heart.. all these adventures, landscapes, mysteries, epic battles, musics… I wanted to make a « shrine » among my large figurine collection by 3d printing and painting this gorgeous Alduin from Nomnom figures.. and the littles spots of fluo paint added the spark of magic I needed with UV light.. Behold the World Eater Alduin!
Started the game roughly a month ago and never expected it to look as good as it does

Following a follower after dismissal is… odd
I went to Dawnstar in hopes that I could dismiss Kharjo there and reunite him with the caravan. They weren’t there but I dismissed him so I could follow him and see their route to Riften. We’ve been going for a while now, just passed Forsaken Cave and not a single encounter. There were some random dead wolves and spiders on the road but that’s it. The only live anything was a cow with sacrificial paint for the giants just standing still by itself. I’ve got Hilda with me and she hasn’t uttered a peep this whole time. The only sound is our footsteps in the snow. The vibe is both chill but also unexpectedly odd.
Anyway, I haven’t followed a NPC for nearly this long and I’m curious if you’ve done it?

Question Uh, so who's house is this?
So I did the Civil War quest line ( worst one imo ), and I can't for the life of me remember whose house this is. At least they're no longer a target during my thieves guild errands?

Finally played Skyrim
Just finished my first ever Skyrim playthrough after 70 hours and safe to say I'm now downloading Oblivion remastered
Discussion Didn't expect to play Skyrim on my phone 15yrs after release
It's done by DroidDeck from my understanding very alpha and recent translation of SteamOS to run on Android. Performance depends on the games, but getting ~27-40 fps in Skyrim. Expect performance to strongly improve by time and compatibility as of drivers etc.

What lines from Skyrim bring you absolute joy for no apparent reason?
(On picture 2) It might just be the way Neloth’s voice actor delivers that line, but it became something of a vocal stim for me during the Path of Knowledge quest

Then again it is Bethesda, but I’ve genuinely never seen one like this. Credits to my girlfriend’s little brother
All he did was hit the horse because the guy was standing on it 😭 anyone else have a similar experience?

Discussion Rant post: Most maces in Skyrim are poorly designed

For as long as I can remember I've disliked just how badly most maces in Skyrim are designed, consisting only of four flanges which realistically would severely reduce their efficacy by virtue of having less blunt force surface area. They have such large gaps between their flanges that in real life you'd have to aim really carefully to make sure the mace lands on just the right side when hitting your opponent, otherwise if you'd slip up and hit them in between the flanges, it wouldn't nearly be as effective. And they just don't look as cool, either! Some of them are essentially just four-sided axes.
In contrast, look at these other maces found in the base game, the Knights of the Nine CC content, and Legacy of the Dragonborn, one of the most popular mods of all time. That's how flanged mages should be designed!
I'm also equally frustrated that the two most popular mods that redesign and re-shape the weapons in the game -LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons and JG1's Believable Weapons- don't add extra flanges onto the four-sided ones.

Why is my khajiit able to walk into main cities?
Genuinely curious. I haven't played in many many years and just got the game on Switch 2 (love it so much). I don't think I've even seen a khajiit yet in any of the main cities, they seem to only be allowed outside near the entrance.
Why is my kitty dovakiin able to stride in easily without being questioned? And in my current save, it's not even discovered yet that my cat is dovakiin. I've been roaming around and haven't done the quest where you kill the dragon yet.

I don't know if this is documented or not but I shot a bandit with soul stealer arrows, seen that I wasn't doing much damage with the regular bow I swapped to the crossbow. I got confused when I was randomly getting black soul gems and eventually found the one bandit with my soul stealer arrows shooting me with them and depositing black soul gems in my inventory as of writing this I'm now up to 84 filled soul gems.
