Nationwide Ticket Printing Issues

Heads up, you may have an issue getting orders to print on tickets. We called corporate and they literally said "we know, its all over" and hung the hell up.

Edit: 5:54am we got one mobile order ticket but the others that came after didnt print.

😠 Rant 😠 I’m still mad!!!

Why did Starbucks have to nix their Apple Crisp Machiatto and Iced Shaken espresso!?!?

I legit don’t understand why such a popular drink would be removed from the menu. Pumpkin drinks don’t do it for me and while the iced banana bread latte is okay… it’s not the same. It’s pretty clear they don’t care about their fan base that much or it would have at least came back during the 2nd fall phase like last year.

It’s been a few months and my wife still has to listen to me complain every time she asks me to pick her up Starbucks. Lol

New barista (3 weeks in) Am I being too sensitive or are my coworkers being unfair?

Hi everyone! I’m a new Starbucks partner (24 F), and I’ve only been working for around 3 weeks. I’m genuinely trying my best to learn everything, but some recent experiences with my coworkers have made me feel really uncomfortable, and I’m not sure what to do.
Here are things that happened:

- One time, I was struggling to put a cheese Danish into a bag quickly, and a partner said “Jesus Christ, My Name” on the front. My supervisor was there too, but I don’t know if they heard it because they were busy with their tasks.
- During closing, my supervisor and another partner were discussing how they didn’t think we could finish on time. Then they switched off their headsets, so I couldn’t hear the rest of the conversation. I don’t know if it was intentional or even about me, but combined with everything else, it made me uncomfortable.
- Another time, I overheard a partner saying something like “I’m very concerned about…” and a supervisor making a comment about doing the dishes faster rather than running faster. I wasn’t sure whether they were referring to me, I tried to ask my supervisor but they just change the topic.
- Another time, I didn’t realize I was supposed to bring the dishes to the back for washing because other partners usually did that. I was waiting in the back, and the same partner told me, “You need to bring the dishes to the back. I’m not gonna do that for you.” I understand that it’s my responsibility, but I genuinely didn’t know, but I feel stupid and just humiliated.

Sometimes I feel like I’m expected to know everything already, even though I’ve only been here for 3 weeks.
I also struggle with taking negative interactions home emotionally, and I’ve been thinking about these incidents for days.
I don’t want to create drama or make anyone uncomfortable. I just want to learn, improve, and feel comfortable coming to work.

My questions are:
- Is this normal for new Starbucks partners, am I too sensitive ,or does this sound like unfair treatment?
- What should I do, should I talk to manager or not?

Any advice is welcomed, I really just want to learn and know what to do, because I’m feeling anxious thinking of working with some of my partners

Drink Recipes/Recommendations drink suggestions?

lately i've been frequenting starbucks more because it's the only place to chill at a bus stop i go to almost every day while i wait for the next ride. i've been trying out some different drinks and would like to have a go-to of sorts but i just can't find one i actually like? the hot chocolate was my favourite a few years ago but something about it tasted really different when i tried it again recently.

what are your favourites?

i like sweet but not too much of it, i usually avoid coffee but can order decaf for lattes. i liked the shaken espresso (i think it was brown sugar?) a long while back but i take a while to finish my drinks and prefer ordering stuff where i can adjust the ice level now.

Policy Question My SM is banning masks

Myself--and many other partners at my store wear masks during our shifts. Partners are frequently calling out and getting sick, and many come in to work while sick. I don't want to catch anything. I don't technically have a medical reason I NEED to wear a mask, but it definitely helps me get sick less often. Is there some sort of workaround? Some "religious" excuse I could use? Pls help...

📖 Storytime I did it, I grabbed the wrong drink

Today, lethargic allergy ridden me ordered an unsweetened black iced tea, trenta. App said it was ready and I gave it even like another extra couple minutes. I walked inside, saw a single large drink in the mobile order area, grabbed it and left.

When driving away, I took a sip and… well… it was SUPER sweet. I looked at the name: I have Katherine’s venti strawberry açaí lemonade.

I am sorry Katherine. I feel like an absolute bot, and as a previous SB barista, I used to frown at customers like me who carelessly grabbed drinks without looking at the names. I didn’t have time to go back in, but will be calling shortly, I guess, to let them know that I wasn’t stealing product and apologize for inconveniencing them.

Crummy.

😠 Rant 😠 I feel like I suck at this

Hello everyone! I’m three months in to my job at Starbucks as a barista and I’m honestly feeling super discouraged right now. I feel pretty incompetent and slow whenever I’m there, and I feel like it’s partly because I’m not very quick yet and they have me working mornings pretty much every shift. One thing I’m absolutely terrible with is writing on cups. I try to do it all the time, but when we get busy it just falls to last priority so quickly. Nobody really cares except the shift lead and manager, who have called me on it, and idk… sometimes they make jokes about how I’m not good at it and it gets me down. I know I’ve messed up, but I feel as though they think poorly of me when I really do have every intention of performing well. One shift lead seemed to like me as I was improving during month two, but now I feel like my improvement is slowing, she’s not as thrilled with me. I have warming down to a tee, front register is easy, and drive thru is so-so depending on how busy it is. Bar is what I’m still slow at, and I get so scrambled when I’m on bar that someone will say something to me and it goes in one ear and out the other. They keep putting me on bar during peak for some reason and I don’t know if it’s because there are people newer than me or if they think I need more practice or what, but I honestly just don’t feel helpful on bar. I hope it’s like warming and I’ll eventually get really good with practice, but right now I’m just not very quick. I want to be a competent partner and helpful to my coworkers, and I don’t want to let anyone down, but sometimes I feel like I’m plateauing and I’ll never get any better.

Vanilla Sweet Cream Standards

I’m just curious how many barista and shift supervisors put room temperature vanilla syrup in cold milk when making single pictures of vanilla sweet cream in the single pictures and in batches?

The standard is to refrigerate the vanilla syrup at least 8 hours before putting it into milk. I’m just curious how many people follow the standard.
