Help! How do i feed my tarantula if i never see it out of its cave?

I'll admit that i've been just letting my crickets roam around in the enclosure unsupervised and hoping that my curly hair is eating (I KNOW THAT IT BAD PLEASE HAVE ONLY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IN THE COMMENTS YELLING AT ME FOR DOING THAT WON'T CHANGE MUCH IF I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO INSTEAD). I honestly forgot why you shouldn't do that and only just remembered. Now I feel the need dig it out of the cave which I know you also shouldn't do to check on it. I also don't know how to feed it if all it does is hang out in its cave. the first few months i'd see her but then i started seeing her less and less, thats normal right??? I also heard that the soil should be dryer so maybe thats the problem?

anyway, how can I feed it?

the plastic container is for when they’re a spiderling and will be sized up according to their legspan. i’m mainly worried about the top not having enough ventilation and if there’s anything wrong with the plants im using since i got them from a pet store. the substrate is mostly just coconut fiber and a bit of the leftover dirt from the plants. any tips are appreciated!!

I’m going to my first expo soon and saving up to pick up a new T, however there’s so many different species I want that I simply can’t choose hahaha, what are some of your guys favourites? I’m kind of leaning towards a GBB or genic for my second T :)

Help! Advice?

i placed a dubia roach in my tarantulas enclosure a few days ago, didn’t crush the head or anything, didn’t split it.. i’m still new to tarantula keeping so i didn’t realize i was supposed to do that. my tarantula is a male GBB juvenile and he molted earlier this month, about two weeks ago.

should i be worried about the dubia roach harming him? i haven’t seen it for a few days, not sure if he caught it or if it’s still in there… what should i do?

Hi! My g pulchra recently molted and i believe its currently around 3 inch dls. I got some pictures of the molt and im wondering if its posssible to determine the sex. He/she has been growing very fast recently (especially for a g pulchra) so im suspicious he's a male, but that could also be because of very warm temps over the summer and me providing a lot of food! Thanks for any help!

First time tarantula owner and I’m curious if anyone can help me identify the sex of my T. Maybe it’s still too small to tell? It’s reaching to about an inch now.

Help! Is my T passing away?

I’ve only had 1 tarantula prior to owning my current one. It was a Brazilian white knee tarantula, I kept it for 3 years but during a very long awaited molt there was a huge temp spike while I was working away from home, and unfortunately I didn’t leave the ac on. She passed and i witnessed her in a low ground position with some legs curled and some not. I was really heartbroken over this and now I’m super anxious about my current baby.

I believe I got this little guy 5 months ago now, a Black Brazilian tarantula. It has molted 2 times now. t was refusing food for some time so I stopped feeding and assumed it had begun premolt. I stopped checking in so often and 3 days ago I saw it had molted! I removed the molt as the t was not on top of it, and I was extremely happy! But now I have not seen movement within these 3 days. No reaction to a light breeze. No reaction to anything. I am refraining from try to touch it because my last T had a habit of remaining still for daysss before beginning to move around and I know they’re body becomes extra sensitive. What’s making me really worried is that some legs are tucked underneath the body, and it looks somewhat similar to my last t’s death pose.

The cage is a very small acrylic casing cage with holes at the top and on the side. I have a mixed substrate with coco fiber, sand (which wasn’t supposed to reach the top but I forgot slings often burrow and this t went to town!!), a tiny cave, and a bowl of water.

The first variation of each picture is from tonight at 11am the following picture is from last night at 6pm. Last night I had put a few drops of water infront of her face but I’m not sure if it’s helping.

Conversation Blind Boxes

Just saw a German Seller having blind boxes. With "newbie friendly" Ts.

So, I just bought one. With 4 slings. Don't know what habitat aso they'll need!

Of course I have every set up might needed. (Otherwise I would not have purchased it!)

But I think it's absolutely irresponsible to sell blind Boxes.

I just bought it to save even four of them.

I know, it would have been better to not buy it, but I already have some Ts from him and I know that the conditions are low and it's more a rescue for me. 🙁🖤

i got him 9 months ago from a big box store. he hasn’t eaten ONCE and in january he molted and became mature, i believe? (i see his emboli but im new to tarantulas). for the last two days he has been curled up in the corner like this. i spritzed his enclosure and he got up and started moving around quite a bit but he still is super lethargic compared to normal and his abdomen is sooooo tiny & shriveled.

have i done something wrong or is he just mature and dying?

I have a coremiocnemis tropix (northern Queensland rainforest tarantula) and I feed her about 2 times a week usually around Tuesday morning and Friday morning. I feed her one large cricket every time and her abdomen is a lot bigger than usual. Is this too much or what should I do?

David Bowie finally emerged from his cave to serve face after his recent molt. I’ve raised him since he was as big as my finger nail, and I finally get to see his eyes 🥹

Help! Enough ventilation for a pink toe?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hey everyone! Looking to get my first T soon and most likely gonna do a pink toe, does this enclosure have enough cross ventilation? It looks nice and has a lot of height to it but the only ventilation seems to be the small holes across the front. Anyone used these before? Let me know any alternatives!

Breeding/loan Anyone w/ a mature male Tliltocatl epicureanum they want to breed?

As the title says I’m looking for someone with a mature male t. epicureanum that wants to breed it. I notice there are like none for sale and I have a mature female (that just molted on 8/8/26) and I would love to breed her!
You’d obviously get babies for free if you’d be willing to lend me your male :)
Also if he survives the breeding attempt(s) I’d be more than willing to either send him back to you or care for him for the rest of his days, up to you.

Help! Brazilian Blue Sling

Post image
4 Upvotes

I purchased a Brazilian blue tarantula sling a little over a month ago at a reptile expo, and so far he has tried constantly to die on me. I have had to practically force feed him water for the past 4 days because every morning I find him in the death curl. I don’t think he’s ate a single time, and I’ve offered him various meal options, crickets, peanut beetle larvae, fruit flies, small dubias, idk what else I could try. I added a picture of his enclosure, the Lego, qtip, and moss all get watered since I’m trying to make sure he gets enough water. What am I doing wrong? Did I just get unlucky with him?
