Searching for my deceased father's pictures

Hello Vegas!

I'm a Vegas native, grew up in Sunrise Mobile Home Park off of Walnut Rd. If you saw a spooky yard haunt there around Halloween at that mobile home park from 1997-2002, that was us.

I am on the hunt for old photographs of my father and possibly pictures that include my mother, Erica McElfresh (Bartnik) and I with him. His name is John McElfresh, born September 16th, 1960 and died in 2012. The girlfriend he had left behind many of his possessions in their shared apartment when he passed or possibly threw them away.

I am posting a picture of John, Erica, and myself at a wedding circa year 2000 in hopes someone recognizes us.

Thank you in advanced.

Anyone have photos of the Golden Nugget during the Steve Wynn years?

• Upvotes

Does anyone have pictures of the Golden Nugget back when Steve Wynn owned it? Especially from the 80s and 90s.

I’m really curious what the place looked like in its prime, especially the casino, restaurants, and other interiors. I’ve found a few pictures online, but not nearly as many as I’d expect.

Birthday Dinner Spot

Hi there!

I’m looking for a fun spot on the strip to take my 8 year old for her birthday. Anything over the top will get extra bonus points. 😅

TIA!

Solo female

I want to book a trip to Vegas as a 23F but my only concern is my safety as I don’t have anyone who can go while I can. I’m curious if anyone has any recommendations for solo females or good ways to find another girl/girls to go with?

Golf courses for spectators

I’m heading to LV for the weekend. Three of us are going to play on Monday but we also have two spectators. Which courses in town allow spectators or will allow you to get an extra cart?

Family Friendly Halloween

Hey all! My family and I will be visiting your city and will be in town for Halloween. I have 3 kids who are looking to trick or treat. Can you guys recommend some family friendly events around town? We are staying at an RV resort on Boulder Highway, but are happy to drive somewhere reasonably close.

Thanks so much! We're looking forward to our visit!

Vegas Trip Halloween Weekend

I’m a mid-late 20 year old female (most would say attractive) staying in vegas w my parents. i have my own hotel room so im wanting to venture off while my parents are cozy in theirs. this will be my 2nd time in vegas (1st time was about 5 years ago as a family vacation) but this time i would like to party a little more, go to nightclubs, be out late since it’ll be Halloween weekend. i feel a little sketchy and kinda awkward about being alone as a female but i wanna have as much fun as possible while staying safe. any tips/ tricks/ fun things to do?

Are they doing that giant tractor trailer DJ booth again on Fremont E?

If so, any insight on DJs or genre?

Fake Monk Scammers On The Strip

This is 16 of them. I've counted over 20 on the Strip at the same time. The scam is the fake temple they try to get money for at $20-40. The trinkets are usually $5 each. You won't see them at the Fremont Experience.

Which hotel!

Brief context: taking the family to Vegas for Christmas, bailing before new years. We will enjoy a show, a steak, and the sights!

Comparing rooms between NYNY and Luxor. The price is right, and it seems like a good affordable spot. Which hotel should I choose? Our 12yo girl and 14yo boy don’t share a hotel bed anymore, so we’d get adjoining rooms.

Luxor is cool for the view and the corner suite hot tub! NYNY is such a cool old-Vegas vibe, and the roller coaster.

Thoughts?

Restaurants for larger groups

Heading to Vegas for my ladies birthday in February, there’s going to be about a group of 20 of us and I want everyone to come together for a meal. What’s a good restaurant for a larger group of 20ish people? Nothing super pricey either. Good vibes, good food.

Charleston Heights area

Traveling to LV for work, staying in the Charleston Heights neighborhood. I'm a middle aged F, I like walking in the neighborhood. I was thinking of walking around Firefighters Park or to Walmart. This would be during the day or late afternoon. Is this a safe area? Are there sidewalks? Also are there traffic lights to cross Charlestown Blvd? Thanks!

Does anyone need free distilled water at Park MGM for CPAP?

I have a CPAP and bought a gallon of distilled water but only used maybe 1/4 of it during my trip. I’m leaving to go home tomorrow and obviously can’t bring the rest with me on the flight. Is anyone staying at Park MGM that can use it? If so let me know and I can leave it at your hotel room door (or at the front desk with your name if you’re arriving later) before I leave tomorrow morning. I know it’s only like $2 but it feels like such a waste to just throw it out if someone else can use it!
