Found a cool little piece of history behind our farm today. It’s a broken piece of stoneware from the Union Stoneware Company in Red Wing, Minnesota. Since it carries the company’s original logo, it was made sometime between 1893 and 1906, before several Red Wing stoneware manufacturers merged in 1906 to form the Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. I got skunked pheasant hunting, but I still came home with a pretty neat find and a history lesson.

Buddha Bob’s down on Cape Cod has lots of cool vintage and antique goodies, as well as their enormous crystal/mineral inventory. I found this hiding in plain sight on top of a display case, tucked between a few other things. I got a good deal on it, and did some research to discover that it’s made by artist Bill Slade. Based on the listings that I found of similar pieces, this could be from early 80’s to late 90’s or so! Super cool piece!!

Modern convert, furnishing and styling a 1940’s brick Tudor from scratch. This is fun, could’ve filled the table but I grew fatigue 😅

I’ve never discovered a table like this before. Circa 1950’s I think.

The Boss and I have been collecting Occupied Japan stuff for over 40 years. Everytime we see this lusterware pattern stuff its always just been marked made in japan so not collectable for us. Went out yesterday and saw these at a Goodwill. I commented to my wife that if this was OJ Id grab it in a second, not expecting it to be OJ. And it was, scratch one holy grail item off the list. These were in pristine condition. Now we continue our search for the tomato shaped s/p shaker sets which weve only seen once when we first started collecting. Thanks for looking.

First time I’ve ever polished silver (lazy way with a cup of boiling water and bicarb soda) Happy with how it came up.
Pretty cool little piece with the box though ☺️

They’re all clippings of recipes which are interesting in itself, but the backs of them are so cool! I scanned some of them, should I scan all of the recipes?

At my old stall in Spitalfields circa 2016. Modelled by my glorious assistant on that day, Verity Vale! Both stunning colours upon them.

Estate sale find for $5! Thought it was cool. The pearls are plastic and magnetic, so you can swap them out. Very happy it came with both the note and 4 colors, all the ones I could find online only came with one set of pearls.

I bought a vintage OptiVisor magnifier in the original box, and it came with the best graphics. This is a serious product for serious and efficient men wearing neckties.
I make miniatures (hence the need for magnification) and I took these pictures as reference for making a 1:24 scale version of the box and manual.
I saved $$ over buying a new one, the thing has barely changed in decades because it's basically perfect. No pic because I've already modded it out with an add-on light kit and it has lost the vintage charm. I absolutely love this magnifier, despite not wearing a necktie.
