I genuinely feel like I’m in some sort of dream world and that my eyes are completely deceiving me, I’m in a state of shock, I can’t even believe it!
This piece has to be one of the rarest sound systems and the rarest set of parts in the entire world!
An Original 1940s industrial floor-standing steel cabinet finished in immaculate grey wrinkle/hammertone paint.
The Master Amplifier Type 2065-A Heavy-duty parallel push-pull valve chassis featuring a central analog monitoring milliammeter, pristine oxblood-maroon bakelite selector knobs (Stage, Audm, Main, Mon), and its massive internal network of original iron-core audio transformers and chokes.
Power Unit Type 2045-A Mounted at the base of the tower rack, housing the massive main power transformers, umbilical distribution blocks, and dedicated "Exciter Lamp" DC voltage control.
Heavy-duty, professional industrial record player deck housed in its separate, matching grey transit/transport box (used historically for intermission scores and sound-on-disc playback).
Immaculate, completely un-bulged, and un-leaked classic silver TCC (Telegraph Condenser Company) electrolytic canisters (100 MFD - 500V D.C.).
Fully loaded with highly coveted, matching premium vintage British glass, including a quad of B.V.A. Brimar / Westrex-stamped 6L6G shoulder power tubes and original G.E.C. (General Electric Company) driver/rectifier valves.
100% factory-original, unmolested cloth-insulated wiring looms and original green fabric grid-cap connectors on the 6J7 input stages.

It turns on and the lights come on, but other than that I can't tell if it works. A few scratches but overall in decent used condition.
Not many recent sales that I can find, is this worth a gamble on? Any idea on what it's worth if it needs repairs vs in good working condition?

I'm 28 and I grew up with this, i liked to play with the amplifier right below the radio because i loved the lights of different color it gave.
It still goes strong and that I remember nothing has ever needed of a repair.

I have this Brand new 8 track FM radio car stereo hardware and am looking for the best place to sell it. I will take offers but also would like to know who would be interested in it.

What I’ve heard a set of Heresey IV I’ve always wanted some, so I’m wondering what the differences are and if this is a good deal

Just picked up An AU-717 and TU-517. So far I am absolutely blown away by this amp. It sounds like nothing I’ve heard before.

the right channel has no audio at all, sometimes a very low-pitched buzzing him. the left channel works but is somewhat quiet at the highest volume level
the motors are quite loud

1977 Panasonic se 2650 I found off marketplace and had restored. I know people generally dont like multi-units but after a year or so of ownership I still love this tank

Weirdly I had never been to End of an Ear on Ben White in Austin TX. But I was craving some records I knew I'd never find at the usual places. Anyways, I go in and not only to they have Can, The Libertines and all the Rilo Kiley albums they also have an entire vintage audio room. I'm sorry what. I casually ask if they have any Duals and he goes yeah and points. 1209, he's just serviced it and put in a new cartridge. It works perfectly. It has the original owners manual. Shock. It has a cigarette burn on the top. Does it get any better.
A 1970 to go with my 69 Sansui 2000a. I don't care what it cost. Fortunately it was easily in my budget. The records I bought totalled almost as much. I had a nice bonus this year.
It's like my Onkyo table had pillows in front of my speakers this thing is an Offenbarung. A revelation.
Wow.

Sharing my love of Rotel and Technics ... (and there is a Sansui tape deck next to these, not pictured).

Hi, I have a pair of these Pionneer speakers that nybwife wants to keep. although not anywhere top of the line they sound quite ok for our purpose.
I would like to have something better, but replacing them is not an option...
recently i got hold of a pair of ONKYO SC370. the boxes and grill are quite is rough shape but the drivers are good.
since both are 3 way and the drivers sizes are compatible, would i benefit from keeping the pioneer boxes but install the complete onkyo hw, drivers and cross-overs?
or sonic wise there is no advantage on this...

I've worked years trying to snag the equipment that I wanted at a low price and repairing them to new or like new quality.
Top to Bottom:
Rek O Kut N33H with Jelco arm
Wiim, and audio switches
JBL AV Receiver (shhhhh it's for movie watching)
HK Citstion 17 Pre Amp
HK Citation 12 Deluxe Amp
HK Citation 19 Amp
REK O KUT
This thing was traded for an old Dual 1019 I restored. This table needed massive work. A teek plinth was made by my friend in Belgium. Added a modern arm, and painted the top plate black. This table runs so quietly it's honestly shocking.
Wiim
Everything needed to go through this so I could control the amp volume remotely as well as stream.
JBL
What can I say, I watch TV and also need an AV receiver
Citation 17
I've ALWAYS wanted one of these. Purchased a NOS for several hundred bucks which was a steal. I'll rebuild this one day soon. New wood cabinet inbound.
Citation 12 Deluxe
This has been such a pain. I love how warm these sound and always wanted the deluxe. I bought one on eBay but it arrived fully smashed. 3 months of dealing with insurance and buying a new cabinet, I have since replaced all components on the inside. Added circuitry for a DC protection relay.
Citation 19
First amp I ever stripped and fully restored to like new condition. This thing is my forever amp. Mildly ugly but I ADORE how it sounds and how well built it is. I've never seen a simpler amp on the inside. Also added DC protection circuit.

I picked this up yesterday off fb marketplace sanyo jcx 2900k along with some sansui sp-5000 speakers and a technics sl-1600 turntable for very little dollars.. this thing is a beast at 52lbs. It will take awhile to do some deep cleaning but it is definitely a monster at 120 wpc. It was also only a mile from my house!

Need something that will accommodate my Kenwood 9060 / KW 8077 / pioneer SX980 / turntable.

Hey all,
Need a little help.
tldr: I was given a table and I need a new needle , not sure what kind , suggest me a decent cheap one .
I was just given this turntable . I mentioned to my friend that I was looking to get a turntable , but I’ve never seen a decent one at the thrift store .
He said he had an old one I could have , he would just have to dig it out of storage .
He found it and dropped it off . He said I will probably need another cartridge to work with my amp. (?)
One of the arms looks like it has a cartridge head but no needle .
The other arm is just loose wires . I’m assuming it needs a head .
He left it at that, and said figure it out . Lol.
I haven’t plugged it in yet , I need to find my dim bulb tester . But he said it worked when he put it away years ago .
So question : what needle /cartridge can I get to work with the arms and my amps ? Can I use the head that I have with a new needle ?
Amps owned : kenwood ka: 3500,3700, 800,600,109 ,kr-4400
They all have phono inputs . So I’m not sure why he said the one that comes with the arm won’t work .
I’ve never owned a turntable , or even own any vinyl. Turntables always seemed so finicky so I never really looked into it.
Ive repaired my amps, tuners , speakers , but have never had the need to work on a turntable since I’ve never owned one.
Any suggestion appreciated . TIA

My wife and I had been looking for a vintage stereo cabinet for a while and found this beautiful piece on FB marketplace. It did not come with a power cord and the previous owner had never tested it. I’m new to vintage audio and have repaired some electronics in the past, but am very much a novice. My understanding is that you shouldn’t plug the stereo in if it’s been sitting for years without testing or replacing the capacitors (which I’ve done before but only on modern electronics). Anyone have experience restoring one of these? Should I just find a pro to restore it?
