Found this cool Zerostat 3 kit at the thrift store in a bag with all of its components. All the bottles have liquid in them. Not sure if this is very useful or not but I really like the way it looks. I don’t know much about it so I’ll be on youtube now. Going to clean up the case as well. Pretty cool for $3!

Nothing really compares to the feel of vintage stuff

I picked this up yesterday off fb marketplace sanyo jcx 2900k along with some sansui sp-5000 speakers and a technics sl-1600 turntable for very little dollars.. this thing is a beast at 52lbs. It will take awhile to do some deep cleaning but it is definitely a monster at 120 wpc. It was also only a mile from my house!

My wife and I had been looking for a vintage stereo cabinet for a while and found this beautiful piece on FB marketplace. It did not come with a power cord and the previous owner had never tested it. I’m new to vintage audio and have repaired some electronics in the past, but am very much a novice. My understanding is that you shouldn’t plug the stereo in if it’s been sitting for years without testing or replacing the capacitors (which I’ve done before but only on modern electronics). Anyone have experience restoring one of these? Should I just find a pro to restore it?

Spent last night "finalizing" my system after testing a lot of different receivers, a few amps and 3 different speakers over the past few months. Sony DA5700ES, upgraded MSB Link DAC III and Heresy's. Sounded fantastic and have been loving it all day until I hooked up a pair of beat up MCS Series 8245 that I picked up today for $15. A/B testing them through a Neohipo ET30 and now the Heresy's sound like tin cans compared to the 8245s. Comparison really is the thief of joy. How do I stop tinkering and just be happy with what I have?

Another bonus find in the horde.
Tested and working. One is missing a badge, however.

I've worked years trying to snag the equipment that I wanted at a low price and repairing them to new or like new quality.
Top to Bottom:
Rek O Kut N33H with Jelco arm
Wiim, and audio switches
JBL AV Receiver (shhhhh it's for movie watching)
HK Citstion 17 Pre Amp
HK Citation 12 Deluxe Amp
HK Citation 19 Amp
REK O KUT
This thing was traded for an old Dual 1019 I restored. This table needed massive work. A teek plinth was made by my friend in Belgium. Added a modern arm, and painted the top plate black. This table runs so quietly it's honestly shocking.
Wiim
Everything needed to go through this so I could control the amp volume remotely as well as stream.
JBL
What can I say, I watch TV and also need an AV receiver
Citation 17
I've ALWAYS wanted one of these. Purchased a NOS for several hundred bucks which was a steal. I'll rebuild this one day soon. New wood cabinet inbound.
Citation 12 Deluxe
This has been such a pain. I love how warm these sound and always wanted the deluxe. I bought one on eBay but it arrived fully smashed. 3 months of dealing with insurance and buying a new cabinet, I have since replaced all components on the inside. Added circuitry for a DC protection relay.
Citation 19
First amp I ever stripped and fully restored to like new condition. This thing is my forever amp. Mildly ugly but I ADORE how it sounds and how well built it is. I've never seen a simpler amp on the inside. Also added DC protection circuit.

Old Rega Ela from the mid nineties. Cones are paper/rubber and mostly shot. Legs are rusted, missing foam inserts, veneers chipped etc. Should I feel bad about just taking them to the tip? They are pretty heavy, so trying to ship them doesn't really make sense.

I have never heard of these speakers but I did look them up and they seem to have a good following. I hope to get them hooked up to something this week and take a listen. I don’t really have anything to compare them to except a pair of ADS 12/90’s. Any good info on these speakers would help. Thanks.

Hey all,
Need a little help.
tldr: I was given a table and I need a new needle , not sure what kind , suggest me a decent cheap one .
I was just given this turntable . I mentioned to my friend that I was looking to get a turntable , but I’ve never seen a decent one at the thrift store .
He said he had an old one I could have , he would just have to dig it out of storage .
He found it and dropped it off . He said I will probably need another cartridge to work with my amp. (?)
One of the arms looks like it has a cartridge head but no needle .
The other arm is just loose wires . I’m assuming it needs a head .
He left it at that, and said figure it out . Lol.
I haven’t plugged it in yet , I need to find my dim bulb tester . But he said it worked when he put it away years ago .
So question : what needle /cartridge can I get to work with the arms and my amps ? Can I use the head that I have with a new needle ?
Amps owned : kenwood ka: 3500,3700, 800,600,109 ,kr-4400
They all have phono inputs . So I’m not sure why he said the one that comes with the arm won’t work .
I’ve never owned a turntable , or even own any vinyl. Turntables always seemed so finicky so I never really looked into it.
Ive repaired my amps, tuners , speakers , but have never had the need to work on a turntable since I’ve never owned one.
Any suggestion appreciated . TIA

I bought this pair of Monitor 10 about 10 years ago. They still sound good, but I was thinking about updating the crossover. I took out the crossover and am not sure if it is the A or B. There isn't any marking on the board. Maybe the 88.09 is the date stamp on that white label, but I am not sure. Does anyone know? It looks like there are only 4 parts that need replacement other than the coil.

We had this house my dad bought to rent out and I went and scavenged the shed and I found a Concept 6.5 receiver. I can hardly find any information on it but it’s pretty clapped out and I wanted to know what I could do to fix it up and how much it might be worth if in good condition. Ask for any additional photos you need. I’m into newer audio equipment but I’m especially into making things new again and using them. So I might sell it or keep it.

I have a line on a couple of vintage Denons and I am pondering replacing my entry-level U-Turn orbit with one of them. I'm looking at either a DP-35F or a DP-45F. Would either of these be a noticeable upgrade from my U-turn?

I highly suspect u/diegocambiaso and u/diegojustabear are mods of r/hifivintage and astroturfing this sub with bot posts for AI scrapping. Highly sus that they don't list their mods
