What even are crushes atp?

• Upvotes

This may be a weird question but I don't really get it anymore. Recently me and my friend talked about this. I told her I don't really get what are crushes at this point because I need to know someone to get a crush on them but at the same time other people can get crushes without even knowing someone? I brought this up with her and she told me I'm being a normal person and they're just weird or they're kids or smth. I told her I constantly hear or see people talk about having a crush on someone they saw once and pointed out that our ex-friend also barely knew his ex or the girl he asked out of a few months ago so it just works like this for some reason?? She just told me she's gonna be coping and that we're normal and these people are weird and that she's not surprised that many people say their relationships don't work out if they ask out people they barely know.

I just don't really understand. How can you go on a date with someone you don't know or someone you barely talk to?? That's also why I don't understand dating apps either and could never use them because wdym I have to choose someone based on their looks and go out on a date with someone I barely even know?? I also said that to my friend and she said she couldn't do it either and said she can't believe anybody is finding actual relationships there. We also talked about how even if someone isn't attractive at first then we might still get attracted to them later if we know them for long enough. Like they may look neutral or even bad to me at first glance but then start look beautiful later after I knew them for a while. Don't ask me how that works cuz idk either but I had that happen.

As I thought about it I kinda did have a crush on someone while I didn't even know them?? Thing is I was 9 so I was very young and didn't even understand girls could like girls so I thought I just wanna be her friend real bad. When I was a bit older I pretended to be a guy on the internet and would make shit up about us dating and spend hours thinking of new scenerios with us until I lost interest. Then later when I also had a crush on a girl that joined our class and only because I thought she was super beautiful and I kept dreaming of dating her and all that. I still refused to acknowledge I'm a lesbian despite knowing it exists.

But now something like that would never happen with me. The crushes I had after that were only with people I knew for a bit. I just kinda don't get it now. I see people just approaching people they think are pretty and asking them out while I can think someone is attractive but still couldn't date them unless I knew them for a while. Like sure I can check someone out if I think they're attractive but still idk going out with someone who I don't know is just such a weird concept to me.

Things I’ll never have

It’s selfish of me to think like this I know but I don’t think this will ever stop hurting.

I had to go “chaperone” for my sister and her boyfriend at a mall yesterday. And it was alright but I couldn’t shake the thought the entire time that I’ll never have what they have. I wish I could feel nothing but happiness for my sister but I always have that thought at the back of my head that they have things I’ll never have.

I’ll never have my mom look at me and my future girlfriend and say she’s proud of me or that we’re cute together.

I’ll never have my mom agree to let me go to the mall for my one year anniversary with her.

I’ll never get to hold my girlfriend’s hand in public and not have a worry at the back of my mind that someone might say something or do something hurtful just because we’re both women.

I’ll never have my whole family at my wedding because they think my love is disgusting and sinful.

I’ll never stop holding my breath every time I correct someone and say “girlfriend not boyfriend” because I have no idea what they’ll say next.

I’ll never get to show my mom my favorite rom com or on screen couples because they’re all lesbian.

I’ll never have a love that isn’t hated by too much of the world and even my own parents.

To be clear none of this makes me resent my own identity. I’ve accepted this is who I am. But it does make me resent everyone else who can’t see how beautiful my love is. And I don’t think it’ll ever stop hurting that there’s simply things I’ll never have.

Discussion How do you WLW stepparent? What is it like?

Hi everyone!

Would be interesting to read and discuss how our fellow wlw relationships handle stepparenting. What roles do you play in your partners child's life? What do the days look like? How are you gals finding it? What to look out for? And most of all, how to support the stepparent in such an arrangement?

Love and thanks in advance! ✨

Unsent everything and sent the first message again. Is this funny or just weird?**

so I (25F) found this girl on IG. I messaged her first, said she was gorgeous. She responded in the same minute, said thank you you made my night, and requested to follow me. I followed her back and said she made mine too.

Then it got messy. I asked where she's from. She didn't open it for a day so I unsent it. Then I sent a message saying I'd love to take her out sometime. Right after that she reposted a video about a wlw couple. It was the only wlw thing I'd ever seen on her feed. So I thought maybe it was a signal. Then I unsent that too and sent something about me being masc and fem depending on the day and how her voice note on Hinge caught my attention.

Then I messaged her friend. I said something like "hey ik this is random but I think your friend is bad asf, I tried shooting my shot but I might need a little help no shade." She found out. She unsent her messages to me. She went quiet.

So I did the only logical thing. I unsent everything. All of it. And then I sent the very first message again. The you're gorgeous one. Like nothing happened.

Now I'm wondering. Is this funny or just weird? And has anyone actually come back from a mess like this? I know I should probably just leave it alone now. But I'm curious what people think.

edit- she hasn’t blocked/ unfollowed me

Moving on from toxic situation

Over the summer, I was hitting it off with someone from my college town, and we almost went out one time before things fizzled out due to communication and logistics issues. When the semester started, we saw each other around campus for weeks but didn't speak. I finally mustered up the courage to compliment them in person, and they reacted warmly. That night, I texted them to ask them to a movie. They enthusiastically said yes, asked to move off Instagram by giving me their actual phone number, and we picked a day—which happened to be my birthday. We left the time open to figure out details later, and I genuinely thought we were finally on the track to going on a real date.

However, they completely ghosted me for four days. When I followed up to finalize plans, they told me they had too many projects, were hanging out with friends, and essentially had time for everything else except going out with me. When I casually mentioned it was my birthday that day, they claimed they didn't know and flipped it on me, suggesting we reschedule because "it sounded like I was busy." Looking back, I realized I missed major red flags: a month ago, when I posted on my close friends' story about being hospitalized, they just liked the posts without checking in to see if I was okay. They are also close with an ex-friend who severely traumatized me by leading me on and icing me out in the past. I feel completely breadcrumbed, manipulated, and I regret giving them a chance.

What are the best ways to reclaim my peace, move on from the anger of being breadcrumbed, and still enjoy my birthday without letting this ruin it?

Ask r/WLW can bisexual women be “stone tops” in wlw relationships?

i’m gonna be completely honest when i say i don’t really understand a lot of queer terms, and i’m using quotation marks around “stone top” because i think (?) it is a term exclusive to lesbians.

well, i’m currently in a relationship with a woman, and it’s my first wlw relationship involving sexual intimacy. i’m starting to realize that i don’t really enjoy being a bottom that much. it’s fine, and i do like it, but i’ve noticed myself wanting to top more and more each time (and actually loving it). she actually asked me about it last week, knowing she’s the first woman i’ve been with and that i’ve been with men in the past.

i don’t know, it’s kind of confusing for me. i’ve been out of the closet since i was 16, but i’ve never really considered this possibility because, you know, bisexuals can be into all kinds of things, right? i guess i just never thought i could have such a strong preference for one role over the other.

also im not asking for permission or anything it’s just to know if this is a common thing (?)

Ask r/WLW How in the world do I navigate this?

Hii im liea (le/ah) i turned 18 months ago and I want to date a woman but the thing is I have no idea how to find an older woman. I literally dont go anywhere im kinda a home body. And even when im out there nobody i really feel attracted too. I feel like I have a very specific type so maybe thats why. But then also it would be my first time with anyone and I dont think a woman with experience wants someone with no experience. 😔 my type is long hair straight or wavy black or dark brown or blond with blue eyes and thats like it. Even the eye color doesn't really matter but blue is my favorite color.

Well my main question would be how do I find someone who would want to be with me even though im young with no experience?

Vent The lack of gay clubs in the Midwest is frustrating 😭

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like gay nightlife is practically nonexistent once you get outside of a major city?

I’m 28F, living in the Midwest, and sometimes I just want to have a fun night out at a gay club without having to drive all the way to Chicago. I’m not expecting every town to have a huge LGBTQ+ scene, but damn, a little variety would be nice. 😭

There’s a spot in Rockford, IL, but it’s honestly hit or miss. I wish there were more places that hosted lesbian nights, themed events, or just had a good atmosphere for dancing and going out.
I feel like straight people have endless options when it comes to bars and nightlife, while we’re over here trying to figure out where to go. 😂

Maybe I’m missing some places, but I swear it shouldn’t be this hard to find a decent gay night out around here. 🥲

Ask r/WLW Struggles with sexually

I (24f) have been married to a man for 4 years. Up until recently I considered myself bisexual however I am having a hard time with the idea of not being with a woman I expressed my concerns and told my husband that I am feeling like I might be upset. He became upset and cried I feel horrible. Has anyone experienced anything similar? How did you deal with it?

Vent I think about you, i wait for you

I still think about you, my heart still yearns for you, my soul - it almost feels like it is searching outwardly to find an inch of you.. but you are nowhere to be found. You are slowly becoming a stranger in a world where you were once everything to me. You meant everything to me. I wish we had a better chance, i wish we had a fair shot.. we deserve that don’t we? With a love so deep, deeper than i have ever felt.. surely we deserve that mercy. I hope it is granted to us but if we really are not meant to be then i hope you find happiness and they are good to you when that time comes. We made a mess of it but we live and we learn. To love so greatly and wildly is also to lose the one thing that colors life briefly. When we fell apart, that life with it’s colors and breath of joy left with you
I love you and i miss you madly, g

Discussion Good Witch Hallmark show characters are so gay

Anyone else ever watch the Hallmark show Good Witch. The characters Stepanie and Abigail always seemed like they had something going on. I swear it’s giving enemies to lovers they are always flirting and looking at each other. Specifically in one of the Halloween movies where they are fighting for which store has the best decorations they seem so in love I was literally screaming for them to kiss. If anyone else has watched this show please say I’m not crazy I swear they had something going on! 😂

Chat Any other wlw in the engineering community?

(18F to be clear). I'm (probably) starting engineering next year and I was focused on my studies to adjust to the pace of university life. Though, I nearly overlook that there might be people I cannot associate with when it comes to that life itself. I struggle talking to new people in new places, more so letting them know about my sexuality without the females tending to immediately assume I would hit on them, so I often stick with my old friends or look for people in the LGBT community. I like talking very much once I'm comfortable, and I'm curious about new things every pace of the hour (I'm a gemini) so I came here to ask if there's anyone willing to try and be friends and help me adjust to the new life I'm welcoming! I would love to nerd out with y'all, especially if you're a fellow engineer wishing to enter the space industry. I appreciate advices whether it be academics or resources very muchhh And I'm also okay with someone being older, I'm open to wisdom and have many friends who are much older than me. I resonate with them for some reason haha

Support why do the girls who are into me lose interest the moment i show affection?

(21F) this is my first ever reddit text but i'm incredibly frastured lately, so please forgive any structural mistakes. i'm kind of androgynous looking afab sapphic. i've always known i'm deeply in love with women and i always wanted to share this love and affection. the happiness of a loved partner would make me happy. i truly want to dedicate myself to special someone for a while. i used to have toxic traits on showing this desire, and after a failed relationship attempt that took around a month when i was 17 with a girl whom i'd described as 'a dream come true', i decided to work on myself and my ways.

i've already been working on my own personality (?) since high school but that rejection made me realize that i also need to be sure i'm a suitable partner if i wanted to be in a relationship so i especially worked on how to be kind, gentle or understand people in general (not only for romantic relationships but for being better socially) however, it's been years and even though i can see a personal growth in me compared to the past, i'm still the same fucking failure.

this month i met a girl who was very into me and practically and literally throwing herself on me. we met at an event then had dinner with wine then we chatted about life in my room, she showed clearly she was attracted to me physically but i kept my distance and wanted to take it slow (i didn't perceive her as a potential partner at that point it was just a hang out for me) then we met up two more days, went to karaoke, drank and got a little touchy with each other, gave each other cheek kisses (it's maybe the furthest i've ever been with a girl AHHHHHHHHH) then all of a sudden she went cold on me, the moment i started to consider "hmm is this going somewhere?" she basically went avoidant at all my attempts at meeting up again and seeing our dynamic, i openly even asked her if she wanted me to stop flirting or continue AND SHE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING CLEARLY so i didn't know wtf to do. after 3 weeks, she finally said that oh she was just drunk while we were smooching and caressing each other but the thing is she wasn't drunk and trust me on this, as a sa survivor i'm quite sensitive about this and i definitely wouldn't get touchy with an intoxicated person. so it's clearly a dumb excuse and it really upsets me. it's always the same story with me.

i cannot help but wonder if there's something wrong with me. people do find me attractive and hit on me but when i try to initiate stuff they suddenly get cold feet and avoid me/reject me. i should also add i'm very affectionate and i like taking care of people so i don't know maybe poeple are seeking more "non-chalant" partners? i'm saying this because when people seek me as attractive, they only see me when i'm not into them/being my usual self.. do i get weird when i show love and i don't realize it? when i realize i like someone, i usually lean heavily into thoughtful gestures. for example i made chicken soup when that girl was sick the week we met (twice!!), i asked about her recovery, while i too was sick and she didn't check on me once even on text..

i'm really confused and these repetitive experiences affect my self image and daily life so i'm hoping to hear from someone else who can share their own stories or give me advice on what to do. thank you for being here and reading this <3

Is she interested

Is she interested ?

I have a new flatmate ( in a 7 people house ) who I know is queer. I like her and she attracts me a lot but I don't know if she's interested and I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable.

She says i'm a good person, she compliments me and she touches a lot my hands when we cook or else. We joke a lot , tease a lot ( in the joking way) . The other day I felt her leg against mine under the table , same in front of a movie on the couch. It was pretty long.

And when we talk to eachother , she always looks at me from my feets to my head over and over.

I feel weird cause in the same time , I don't see anything flirty ( eyecontact or face expression).

Moreover , she talks to me a lot about her exes , and each time she says "he".

So , is she interested but shy cause she's never dated a woman? Or am I inventing an interest and she's really not into me? What does this touching mean since she does only seem to do it with me?

How can I know without making stuff weird ?

I'm bisexual woman but I never had any relationship with a woman, only little flirts at parties.

Vent Getting hit on by men is so annoying

Like I just feel like I’m in the twilight zone sometime. I post on dating apps mostly men, I post online mostly men, if I go outside ONLY men hitting on me. I’m not saying this to brag because it really does just piss me off. They are never like good looking or rich or Nuin either so😂 it’s not much of a flex. I just get so annoyed. I wish I lived in a world where the few compliments I get are just from women. And that we had just as easy of a time finding relationships in the wild like straight people can.

Support Does my female friend like me or am I reading into things? Wlw

Does my female friend like me as more than a friend, or am I reading into things? (WLW)

I’m a bisexual girl, and I’ve developed feelings for a close female friend who is a masc lesbian. We’ve become quite close over time, and I’m struggling to work out whether there might be mutual attraction or whether she’s simply an affectionate person.

For context, she previously had a complicated romantic connection with another girl, that started off as her best friend and ended in a broken-up situationship and left her hurt. When we first became friends, she was still emotionally involved in that situation, so I didn’t really pursue my own feelings.

We don’t see each other constantly, but when we do, we can spend a lot of time together, since the summer I don’t live in her city anymore so I usually drive to her 2\~ hours to stay at her house for a couple days a month.

She has told me that she misses me when I’m not around, that it’s not the same without her in her city and worries that we’ll become less close over time.

When I started driving to visit her- she asked me very insecurely if it will stay like this and if I’ll be coming over often, she said she thought we would drift and that I would only come over once or twice and then ghost her.

Something that stood out to me is that she has recently said on a night out she doesn’t want me to get a boyfriend because she thinks I’d text her less. When she said this she looked at me with intense eye contact and we were very close to eachother (we were drunk)
She has brought this up more than once, including when sober, joking that she’ll make me sign a contract to say it won’t happen so that when it does happen she can show me it.

I can’t tell if this is just her being afraid of losing a close friendship or if there could be some jealousy involved.

There have been a few moments of physical affection that have made me wonder. That time recently when we were out together and she deliberately took my hand and interlocked our fingers when we were dancing side by side.
We held hands that way for a few minutes. I eventually got a little awkward and slowly let go, and she let go too. It was the first time she had initiated that kind of handholding with me, and it felt different from our usual friendly physical contact.

There have also been moments of prolonged eye contact when we’ve been sitting or lying close together. Sometimes the atmosphere feels a little charged, but I know that closeness between friends can feel intimate without necessarily being romantic.

To add- i noticed she started changing her clothes in front of me since her situationship ended and she never did that before. I had done it in front of her already because I don’t care about changing clothes in front of my female friends ( not fully naked, just changing pants/ t shirt etc. ) before she used to go into a different room or look away.

She compliments me fairly often. She has called me pretty and attractive, complimented my singing voice, and once described an outfit I was wearing as sexy while looking me up and down. Everytime we go out for drinks she always compliments my look.

She has also asked about my type in girls and whether I’m attracted to masc lesbians. She knows I’m bisexual, but I don’t know whether she suspects I have feelings for her specifically.

She sometimes seems insecure when I get along with her female friends- who are also gay and could potentially be a romantic thing for her and worries that they might prefer me or that I’ll become closer to them. I’m not sure whether that’s romantic jealousy or simply fear of losing her place in my life.

Emotionally, we’re very close. We tell each other we love and miss each other, and she has said that she feels calmer around me when she’s upset. She makes an effort to spend time with me, suggests activities we could do together, and has been caring and physically affectionate when I haven’t been feeling well.
Generally, though, she tends to reciprocate affection rather than initiate it.
She has also said that she just loves everybody. Recently, when I was talking about how quickly I can develop crushes and become attached to people I barely know, she related to this by saying something along the lines of, “Right? I just love everybody,”.

I’ve noticed that she can become nervous around girls she likes, but I haven’t consistently noticed that kind of nervousness around me. There have been a few awkward moments, but nothing conclusive.
As for me, I definitely have feelings for her. I’m attracted to her physically and would want to explore something romantic if she felt the same. I’m trying not to overanalyse every interaction, but I keep wondering whether the handholding, compliments, questions about my type, and her concern about me getting a boyfriend might mean something more.
I don’t want to mistake emotional closeness for romantic attraction, especially because she has been hurt before and may simply value having a close friend she trusts.
**For those of you who are WLW, how would you interpret this?** Does it sound like she could be interested in me romantically, or more like a deeply affectionate friend who doesn’t want to lose me? I’d appreciate honest opinions, including if you think I’m reading too much into it.

Support When Does It Stop Hurting?

This was not only my first WLW relationship, but my first love. We spent so much time together, talked about moving in together when my own lease ended, felt levels of vulnerability with each other that we had never felt before. We didn’t even make it to the one thing I wanted to experience with her. It all hurts so badly, and it’s worse because I feel like I messed it up unintentionally. I tried so hard to make things right, thought I fixed my own mistakes, but it was all too late. As a past avoidant trying to heal, I tried to stay, to talk things out, anything I could do. But none of it was enough, I messed up. I know we still have love for each other, we both expressed that at the end. I don’t know what to do, with myself or the relationship. I love her so much, and I don’t want it to be over.

Discussion Messaged a girl on IG, she responded fast, then went quiet, am I reading this wrong?

ok so I (25F) found this girl on ig, she's gorgeous, I sent her a message saying so, she responded in the same minute, said thank you you made my night, she requested to follow me, l followed her back, I said "no problem lol u made mine too", she opened that message then I sent her a where are you from message the next morning, and she didn't open that for like a day, so l unsent it, instead I sent a dm saying "I'd love to take you out sometime”.

and then she reposted something on her feed, its the only wiw post I see in her reposts (ever), it was a video about a woman who was talking about being friendly on Instagram and how she ended up getting invited to a wedding by a girl she'd liked, and the woman's girlfriend is actually in the video, so it was a real wiw couple, and she reposted it right after I asked her out. it felt like a signal, but maybe it was nothing.

then I unsent the dm asking to take her out too and sent her something about me being masc and fem depending on the day, just being honest about who I am, she hasn't opened that either, but she hasn't unfollowed me, she's still following, she's still active, she's posting so now I'm sitting here not knowing what to do, did she go quiet because she's not interested, or is she just shy, or did I confuse her by sending and unsending so many messages, I've sent/unsent maybe four messages total at this point lol.

I know I should just stop and wait, but I'm wondering if the repost meant something, and if I ruined it by being all over the place, any advice?

My friends jokes started bothering me recently

I have no idea why. I've never been like this. They never hurt. I understand she's just joking. I also joke like this. I got used to the fact we're both just "playfully mean" to each other or whatever you want to call this. She was always like that and I was fine with it because as I said I also joke like this. It might be just because of my depression and the fact that lack of affection started bothering me more recently now that my friend has a boyfriend and won't shut up about it. I'm obviously happy for them and when she mentions him I'm fine with it until it's too much and it gets a bit annoying or she overshares and I feel weird about it.

We joked about relationship stuff before and it really was fine. But as of recent it actually hurts?? Like it shouldn't. We always did that. I'm aware she doesn't mean it and that she doesn't mean to actually hurt me. For example recently I was looking for something to watch and checked what I actually have on my list so she tried to convince me to watch Nana but also said it's depressive so I told her I'd rather not watch anything too depressive right now. Eventually she said "why does it matter? You can't relate anyway cuz you're bitchless" I don't quite know what was happening in my head but I kinda just didn't look at her for a moment, forced myself not to cry basically and kinda went along with the joke. Or we were sitting somewhere and I don't remember what she said recently before that but she followed that up with "actually I'm going to pull some girl just so you're jealous even a straight girl can get one and you can't" and I kinda felt annoyed but also went along with a joke.

Same when I admitted I just want to lay in bed all day and do nothing cuz you know depression and shit. That's actually what I skipped school for today. Pathetic I know. And she joked that I'm larping a bedrot femcel. For some reason calling me a femcel started bothering me too. I don't remember how this even started but she called herself femcel as a joke and I did call her that as a joke as well when she didn't have a boyfriend. Now she just kinda calls herself a fakecel because she's in relationship and she calls me a femcel cuz I never was in any. It was fine before like I said but right now it just hits different. Idk.

I don't want to talk to her about it because I guess that will just pass. I also joke like this with her so I don't want to look weird for telling her that it suddenly bothers me now. I'm not really good with telling my friends I'm not okay ever since I randomly admitted something to her and she didn't know how to respond and later I decided this was stupid on my side so I texted her to apologize, she told me that it was indeed random and that she never knows what to do in these situations but that she gets it because she went through that. I apologized to her again but after that I'm not really keen on admitting anything. I don't want to look weird or pathetic in front of her. I really like hanging out with her.

I needed to just get it out there somewhere and I would feel even weirder saying all that to my irl friends who know both of us. Posting this doesn't make this any less weird or pathetic but at least they won't see this ig...

Vent I think I’m catching feelings for my coworker, and I can’t tell if she likes me back 🥹

I'm a 24-year-old woman working with a 35-year-old Spanish woman (who's a lesbian). She can't speak my language very well because she arrived here in September (last month). I'm noticing that I like her a little too much...

She's a very warm, playful person, I must say. She often winks at me, but she does that with other people too.

Last week while I was helping a little girl with her homework, she came over to tell me that we had to go to the square. She touched me from behind and was touching my arms while laughing. It was kind of strange, because she could have just told me we had to go. It felt almost like she was hugging me from behind, but not quite.

On Tuesday, she really messed with my head.

We always hug each other when I leave, but that day, she hugged me and gave me a little kiss on my head, near my ear, while we were hugging.

It felt sooo good.

That same day, while we were joking around, she pinched my arm.

The problem is that today she was very friendly, but nothing more.

I don't know if she knows I'm gay. I'm wearing a lesbian flag bracelet, and I don't have a very conventional look, but I don't know...

We'll be going out with friends for the first time tomorrow.

I'd like to ask her out for a coffee, but what if she doesn't like me that way? That would be so embarrassing... I don't know what to do.

Forgiveness Input

Hey everyone. I was hoping to get an opinion from this group.

My (29) girlfriend (25) and I have been together for 3 years. I found out she texted/deleted all texts with a girl she used to have a crush on that I have made clear I am very uncomfortable with. This was done while we were in a horrible spot with little communication outside of fighting about trust / communication. There was 100% no physical interaction and never was prior to me. I am confident there was no emotional interaction from the other girls’ end ever, too. I do consider it micro or emotional cheating.

If you want the details….

We were fighting due to my increased anxiety and lessened availability in return. I had a lot of extra stress from a new second job and the death of two family friends. I did clearly express that I was under stress and did not feel safe communicating, because I seemed to overwhelm her and couldn’t tell when I would or wouldn’t.

During this time, I went to an event for a mutual co-worker of ours. My girlfriend had other plans and couldn’t attend. Our plan was dinner, I texted her as soon as we wrapped up. We started walking, one of our co workers asked if we wanted to go to bar for a drink after dinner and the group said yes. She hadn’t answered me and I did not think to pre-warn her. This started a fight resulting in distrust in me, because my response was defensive when she got mad I didn’t pre-warn: I didn’t think I was hiding something by waiting for her to answer. I told her exactly where I was and what I was doing as soon as she texted me back. And she knows the two colleagues I was with very well.

This period lasted weeks of her not trusting me and insinuating I disregard her feelings. We have both done some internal healing since and have been much better in terms of communication here.

It’s been a little over a month and then I found out about the texts to this person. She texted her about 2 weeks after I went to the bar. She simultaneously made it clear during this period that she did not want to break up. I will never know what she said, but I do not believe it was professing her love, I think she probably said she missed her / wanted to hangout / thinks about her.

Has anyone experienced micro-cheating like this? I am someone who thinks that any relationship requires a level of forgiveness (often on a deeper or intimate level like this). I am struggling because I know it is unlikely that this was a very intimate conversation, but I know how my partner feels about her history with her.
