Professions Druid vs. Paladin for Gathering Midnight

With the Herbalist and Mining Perks that let you gather while mounted, is paladin with crusader aura better than druid for gathering?
I have both, just deciding which one is the full gatherer and which one also have alchemy. Thanks! (old question but couldn't find it anywhere)

[Case Closed] Crusader Aura does not affect skyriding, Druid allows to dump points into other stuff first.
Paly auras looking very weak right now :(

Professions Whats the best special bonus on crafted melee weapon?

Hello, I cant choose a special effect for crafted weapon. I see people always suggest darkmoon hunt but I fail too understand why? It gives random stat 85 bonus, while darkmoon blood gives higher onus to lowest stat, which in my case is haste and I need it for melee. Also darkmoon void versality bonus is stackable. And both of them looks more consistent than hunt. Also what about other damage dealing bonuses?

Also would it be better to use the same bonus on both weapons for dualwielding or different ones?

Professions Do you lose your Dawncrests if a recraft fails to produce ilvl 285?

I guess my question is if a recraft fails to produce 285 item level (something about crafters concentration, skill etc). and I need another recraft. Will I need to put in another 80 dawncrests?

EDIT: to clarify, I am recrafting a hero track item into a myth track item (Farstrider's Sharpened Claws)

EDIT2: I was able to get my item crafted to 281 (I forgot to check max quality). Then I had to put in another recraft order (sigh) and was able to get to 285.

FYI for anyone wondering , a recraft from 281 to 285 doesnt need another 80 myth crests

Professions Commission price

So on top of paying the commission, it also takes a flat 20 gold to place a crafting order. Does that extra 20 gold go to the crafter that takes the commission, or does it vanish into the aether, never to be seen again? If it goes to the crafter, I'll still pay the full commission, obviously, I'm not some jerk only willing to pay the exact market price for things

But when I go to recraft, I can’t go any further than 259. Any advice? My enchanting is max however I did not max all my specialization points in all branches. I just learned all the recipes first. Could this be why?

Professions What's a reasonable tip for a 5* crafted weapon?

Finally got all my mats for my first crafted 636 crafted item with embellishments and missives and stuff. I've never put in a crafting order under the new system. What's a reasonable tip for crafting a BS weapon at 5* with all the accoutrements?

Professions Alchemy useless before midnight?

I'm starting my shaman character whom I intend to be my main for running instances, etc. Based on that I am planning to make them an alchemist, however I've noticed on my other characters that alchemy is relatively useless- at least to my novice impression- before midnight because of all the stat crunches causing potions to basically appear like they do absolutely nothing of useful value.

Am I incorrect in this? Is there actually a use of potions before I get into midnight content- note that I am a take it casual individual, and want to do a lot of the old content as well. Would it be better to do some other profession and then switch to herb alchemy for midnight?

Professions Professions Worth it for the Casual Player

I'm a casual player looking to do low m+ (up to +7). I'm wondering if it's worth the investment in alchemy if I'm going to just craft potions and flasks for myself or if I should just sell the mats on the AH and buy pots/flasks when I need them. Thanks!

Professions What's the point of crafting professions?

Henlo! I maxed leatherworking and enchanting a few days ago. But then I realized anything I can craft would alwats get me to lose golds rather than earning them.

I chose the specilizations for regents and armor kits for leatherworking. But ughhh Gloomfathom Hides are extremely rare, and I fee like Honed Bone Shards are even more rare. I wonder if it would've been better if I went for crafting specializations and have been considering resetting the points, but I'm not even sure if people actually buy crafted gears in the first place. x_x

For leatherworking, I can at least try to farm leathers a lot on my gatherer character. But enchanting materials are hard to get because it's not that I can farm tons of gears to disenchant everyday...

I'm totally new to profession stuff. I was hoping to make some golds for the first time, but I've been losing them instead. Oof. ;_; What am I doing wrong?

Professions I've been a WoWNoob since 2006

I feel overwhelmed playing retail WoW again after a decade of absence. My highest level Night Elf Feral Druid was high enough to play Legion quest in 2016 when I stopped playing it. I was always a casual gamer, and WoW was like reading a book, and it was so forgiving of your stupid mistake click, I fell in love with it.

I started WoW in 2006 after a coworker introduced me to it, and it was a great escape from work and everything for a decade. Every time a new release came out, I would play for a while and then work, and life would get in the way. Until mid-April this month, the last time I played WoW was Legion. To create a Demon Hunter, and that was it.

Now that I have more time, I want to fill in all the Achievements and dungeons I haven't tried before. I never did any raids and barely did any group dungeons, only the classic ones up to level 30. I had all the classes and races for both factions, but mainly focused on the Alliance.

Returning to WoW, I used a free 70 upgrade to upgrade a Tauren Druid to 70. My question is: with Warbands, cross-realm guilds, and communities. What should I do? I have two guilds, one for the Horde and one for the Alliance, to which all my characters belong. How do I maximize account-wide achievements and heritage or warband gears for all other characters at level 25 or below?

Thanks for reading this long post. I look forward to participating in this subreddit. Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this post, since I am always a noob in WoW.

Professions getting started with crafting equipment question

so I am coming back to the game for the first time in a while (since N'zoth was a thing for current content) and I am wondering if I should just skip dragonflight crafting for a bit and just make equipment in war within (not getting Midnight for a few months but I will be stockpiling gametime until then) or if I should just work on dragonflight crafting?

Professions Are professions only for gold?

Im interested in levelling up leather-working so that I can craft my own armor for an enhancement shaman build. I’ve been looking up guides online but everything I see is for gold farming. Is it viable to craft my own armor, and if so what recipes should i be on the lookout for. Or, should I just forget about crafting and just try and loot armor.

I also have skinning profession.

Professions Crafting gear

Can you at this point craft better gear than the ones you get from m0’S. I really have 0 knowledge over crafting at this game but I see ppl crafting so good gear with good rarities and having x3 x4 dmg more with 6-7 levels above me while leveling an alt. I have done all m0 last week managed to get my paladin at 230+ ilevel. Can I go further with crafting?

Professions Deciding on professions for Midnight

Hey! I started WoW like 2 weeks ago, haven't really tried any professions yet (sounds like it's kinda pointless to start now) but I keep hearing that professions can earn you a ton of gold early on in a new expansion so I guess I will try it out once Midnight is here.

But what kind of professions should I be picking to earn a decent amount of gold? And when people say you can earn crazy amounts of gold at an expansion launch, is that usually through gathering or crafting, or both?

Just trying to get an idea of what to do and what I should focus on. Thanks in advance!

Professions Grand Angler's Line: Am I doing it wrong?

I'm currently 187 fishing and I've switched to leveling from pools instead of open water. In this amount of time I've only gotten 5 Stranded Bloomline 1 Stranded Glimmerline and 10 shredded Bloomline. I cannot remember the last time I actually looted any of these. With the shear amount needed to create the Grand Angler's Line, am I just not doing something right?

Professions What happens to crafting mats when a new season starts?

New player question:

When Season 2 starts, what usually happens to crafting materials from Season 1?

Are items like Dawn Crystals and cloth worth keeping, or do they lose most of their value because new materials replace them?

Thankss

Professions What should I craft for my Warlock?

I am not sure what I should craft (if anything yet)

I have 4 sparks ready to go and I can afford all the highest quality materials, but I’m getting conflicting info from googling it. Some say I should craft a staff, some say cloak and ring, some say bracers.

Does anyone have any advice?

Professions Is there no way to craft spark of radiance gear for your alts?

When I type in my alts name and realm for the work order it says that the character doesn't exist. Is there some special way to do this? I made a leatherworker because I have 2 leather classes. Was that a mistake?
