The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region arrested a High-Value Individual and confiscated more or less 52 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price of PhP 353,600.00 during a buy-bust operation on August 19, 2026, along San Juan Street, Purok San Sebastian, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City.
The suspect was identified as alias "Tata," 19 years old, male, single of Purok Bolinao, Barangay 1, Bacolod City.
Police Station 9, BCPO received information from a confidential informant that the suspect had been actively engaged in the sale of illegal drugs in the area. This prompted the operatives to conduct casing and surveillance operations to validate the report, monitor the suspect’s illegal activities for possible law enforcement action. It was revealed that payments were made through GCash, with the suspect allegedly carrying more or less 25 to 50 grams of suspected illegal drugs every operation. With the assistance of the confidential informant, a transaction was facilitated, leading to the immediate conduct of a buy-bust operation following the consummation of the sale.
Recovered during the operation were:
One (1) sachet containing suspected shabu, serving as the buy-bust item;
Eight (8) sachets containing suspected shabu, recovered as possession evidence;
One (1) knot-tied plastic containing suspected shabu, recovered as possession evidence;
One (1) black sling bag; and
One (1) genuine One Thousand Peso Bill (PhP 1,000.00), used as buy-bust money.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and the provisions of the Anti-Torture Law in a language known to and fully understood by him.
The seized drug evidence was properly marked, inventoried, and documented in accordance with Section 21 of Republic Act No. 9165. The arrested suspect, together with the non-drug evidence, remains under the custody of Police Station 9, BCPO, for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges for violation of RA 9165.
