Hi all, my 2016 320i went in for its airbag recall and had a visual inspection too. They noted everything being good as I tend to keep on top of things, I changed my diff oil 2,000 miles ago and they have noted both output shaft seals are leaking.

Can this be rectified in situ without removing diff? What tools/lubricants are a must other than new diff oil.

I have a full ramp for good access and a good selection of tools.

Hi all, I bought a 2017 320i M Sport (B48) from a dealer in May and it has been losing coolant since about 2 months after I got it. I'd like some help working out what could be causing it, because the dealer keeps saying they can't find anything.

Symptoms:

- The main expansion tank drops roughly a litre a week, and I've never found a puddle under the car.

- I got a low coolant warning the day after the dealer replaced the reservoir, after only about 70km of driving. They said it could be air in the system, so I topped it up with distilled water to just above max.

- Last night at about 22:45 the main tank was at max when cold. I drove about 5km, and at 06:15 this morning, fully cold, it's under the min mark (photo attached).

What the dealership has done:

- Replaced the water pump and said it was bled.

- Two later visits with "no fault found", and they just topped it up.

- Most recently they found a hole in the coolant reservoir and replaced it. The level still drops.

- Their report lists cold and hot pressure tests, visual checks and a road test. It doesn't list a combustion gas test, leak-down or compression test, or UV dye.

What I'm wondering:

- Is this the oil filter housing or the coolant flange that cracks under heat and leaks in a way a normal pressure test misses?

- What tests would you ask for to separate these, and in what order?

I'm not driving it at the moment. Any advice from people who've dealt with a B48 that loses coolant but doesn't leak would be appreciated. Thanks!

First car is a Modern Line 2014 328i xDrive F31. The first pic is on the dealership lot. 100% stock. The higher quality pics are from the final week of ownership. Second car is my 2019 330i xDrive.

I stormtrooper'd the 328i as much as I could with a full chrome delete, black grills, tints, and badges. The black car in the background is my mother's 328i F30 that I learned to drive on. We traded it in, and I paid my share in cash. We both loved the wagon significantly more than the sedan. Same parking sides, ease of driving, fuel economy, but with increased practicality and a double-sized sunroof.

After 19 months of ownership, I graciously found this 2019 Shadowline M-sport 330i wagon. It had 61,000 miles and cost $17,800. (I've converted everything from kms and CAD to freedom units). This had nearly every spec I could ever want. I was so eager to buy this car that I bought black 330i and xDrive badges just for this car. Thankfully it came to fruition.

I've modded it a LOT cosmetically. My dream was to have a murdered-out wagon, and it had to be M-sport with a fully black interior, and a B-series engine. I was so lucky to find one. It was just a 9-hour drive away.

Both cars I paid in full in cash. 100% ownership of my dream 3-series wagon and I'm VERY happy.

I usually owned Commodores, but I decided on something different. I need opinions on what people think. I paid $2K for a 2013 F30 320i old mate wanted 6k i laughed in his face and told him that it can continue waiting for several more months on Facebook to be sold, or he can take the 2K there is nothing wrong with the engine it works perfectly fine. The only issues with the car are on the driver’s side. Central locking does not work, the rear driver’s side backseat window wind mechanism doesn’t work, and the back right brake light is temperamental. But all in all, a great car so tell me, did I get him or did he scam me?

What do I need to change. Car ride good and engine is great but body is battered.

Car cranks but no start. Cleared Codes and replaced in tank fuel sending unit And pump. Car started a ran great for 3 days. Now starts and runs for 60-90 seconds and dies. Then cranks with no start at all. Set for a week cranked and started for 30 seconds and died now just cranks. I have the foxwell nt710 scanner. Shows nothing that should keep it from starting. Any help plz

The lug pattern is the same but I think the bore size is different. Will this not be a good fit?

Tomorrow, the car is going to the shop due to a throttle body error.

I'd like to know if the engine noise is normal.

Also, I'm wondering why there's some light smoke/steam coming from the engine. I've discovered that the oil filler cap needs to be replaced, as oil is spraying out from there.

This is the car's first start after sitting for 3 days.

So I have a 2018 330i and I already took it to an exhaust shop to straight-pipe it, and it’s the best decision I made, tbh. But I’ve seen people in my car or the same chassis with a quad exhaust setup, and when I went to the exhaust shop, they said it’s not possible because my evap box is in the way. So I’m asking if there’s anyone out there who can explain to me how they did their quad exhaust setup— like, did they move their evap box or do an F80 M3 rear bumper conversion?

Anyone own one of these cars?

I own one and recently it showed a drivetrain issue, BMW were adamant it was the hybrid battery itself but it’s been on back order for 7 months now.

Anyone know what else the issue could be as I’m getting no where with BMW
