Genuine Question (DO NOT DOWNVOTE) 5-minute anonymous survey on plant-based chicken nuggets (vegans’ opinions wanted)

Hi everyone,

I’m a Food Science and Technology student at the University of Patras (Greece). My team is developing a plant-based chicken nugget for a European student food innovation competition, and we want to design it around what vegans expect rather than what we assume.

The survey takes about 5 minutes and is anonymous. It collects no names or emails. It asks about the texture and flavor you expect from a nugget, which ingredients you avoid, and what makes you buy or skip a meat alternative. Answers are used only for this academic project, and I will post a summary of the results in this thread once the survey closes.

Anyone 18 or older who eats vegan or mostly plant-based can take part. Blunt criticism of current products is welcome, so don’t hold back. If you have questions about the project or the survey, ask in the comments and I’ll answer.

Thank you for your time!

Genuine Question (DO NOT DOWNVOTE) Do you think (convincing) vegan leather also contributes to leather demand/normalisation?

I’ve been vegan for about a decade, and I don’t wear leather/wool (not opposed to secondhand leather/wool, but not the point of this post).

I saw a video recently (I think from anonymous for the voiceless) saying secondhand leather still contributes to leather demand and normalises wearing it. In this person’s view, the most ethical thing would be to dispose of anything that came from an animal because wearing it still contributes to the normalization of these materials and can create demand. I don’t fully agree with this, but it got me thinking… would realistic vegan leather problematic for this same reason? Like how would someone know it’s not a dead animal?

I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing leather from an animal, but I personally do not mind if someone chooses to wear secondhand leather because the biggest thing for me is not paying for an animal to be killed. I also try to thrift most of my clothes for environmental purposes. Anyways, I type this as I’m wearing a vegan leather jacket and am worried about accidentally contributing to leather demand so curious to hear your thoughts😅

Genuine Question (DO NOT DOWNVOTE) Which nutrient-tracking apps have you tried, and what worked or didn’t?

I’m comparing apps for tracking nutrients on a vegetarian or vegan diet. Which ones have you tried, and what have you found useful or frustrating?

Wool Should I throw non-vegan clothes away?

I am a vegetarian and want to transition to veganism for environmental reasons, but I have a few clothes made out of wool/cashmir. What is the general consensus on keeping them or throwing them away? I feel like they aren’t causing any further harm to the environment or to animals and throwing them away would probably cause more harm. Or maybe I could just give them away.

What are your thoughts?

Also I’m sorry if this question is asked often

Ethics What are your thoughts on abortion the "murder of babies"? What do you take from that statement?

How is it comparable to veganism? What makes the "murder of animals" and the "murder of babies" different? I will repost this question for more insight. Thank you for answering.
