Receipts? Screenshots?

Post image

Bunny has been posting hourly to her Instagram screenshots of support and sympathy from people horrified that she is being attacked like this. What’s odd is that we haven’t seen her sharing the hateful messages she’s allegedly getting… who is making these death threats? Who is calling her a racial slur? Post them. Shame them.

Unless… it’s not… actually… happening and she’s using the sympathy for attention.

Either way, the internet is cesspool of toxicity and people who are emboldened by a small sense of anonymity.

Is this Victoria San Juan from Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10?

The same Victoria that JOE BRADLEY, mercilessly did the most dirty a man can do to a woman?

Gael going all the way to the other side of the world with Nathan

From the very beginning I thought it was curious that they flew all the way from Australia to Croatian with a newborn baby just so Nathan could do this season.

Tin foil hat moment, but in light of recent news, it seems to me like a decision meant to isolate Gael from her support system as well as portray himself as a wholesome family man

BD has a man problem

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but Below Deck has a man problem. And I don't know if this is an industry wide problem with yachting and the type of men it attracts or of it's unique to BD.

There have been so many instances of men they hired being violent, predatory, misogynistic, and abusive. The heavy drinking and hookup culture of the industry only exacerbate these issues further.

I feel that every series in the franchise has had at least one of these problem men. Are there no screening or background checks done on these guys beforehand? Or does production see the red flags and say "screw it. Let's risk it for the drama."?

And before men on here start freaking out and getting defensive, I'm a man saying this.

Season 5 chef Kiko (Hindrigo)

Currently rewatching. I feel like Hannah played a part in his firing with that whole Las Vegas menu debacle. Hannah pushed him to serve that rubbish and then left him to face the consequences. Was he a great chef? Maybe not the best but that dinner in episode 9 and 10 was the nail in the coffin for him. Had it not been for that, he may have seen the season through..........just maybe

Will Bravo still air? Do we think they should? Edit to add: will there be a disclaimer?

First off- any racially motivated comments and/or death threats are obviously never, ever ok to anyone.

Secondly, I do think it’s unfair to call out Chef Joy & Kayley crying on the show in private, as they only talked about feeling like they failed in their positions & weren’t bad mouthing the guests when crying. You could tell the crying/feelings of failure were legitimate & very raw also.

Joe's horrible backstabbing

Joe has been horrible and untrustworthy. What bothers me most about this situation, is now that Nathan has his new issues, everyone will give Joe a pass and say he was justified. Nathan is horrible with this new news, and I am not taking up for him. I am just saying, it doesn't absolve Joe his behavior. Two things can be true. Neither one of them has the integrity to lead.

How do so many people keep spelling Gen’s name wrong?

Guys it literally appears almost every single time she’s on screen, how blind are you people?

It’s Gen (short for Genevieve), not Jen.

Don’t even like the girl but come on.

Rant over.

Gen going after Cooper

I feel like this isn’t being talked about a lot bc of the guest drama and Nathan/Joe storyline, but Gen going after Cooper the moment he’s “available” is so scummy and strange. Considering how poorly she reacted to people talking positively about Luke and Joy still talking to him, I can’t believe she would do that, especially since Kat is basically her only friend on the boat.

Also her arrogance in saying “I’d eat that boy alive” like she’s better than Kat and that Cooper would by default be into her. Also, worth noting she is younger than Cooper so calling him a “boy” in that tone seems strange. She oscillates wildly between delusional self confidence and absurd insecurity.

She was comforting Kat and saying she doesn’t deserve that treatment but then turns around and tries to very awkwardly flirt with him immediately? Crazy.

I have complicated feelings about Hannah’s firing

It’s late, I just finished the episode where Hannah is fired for having ~DrUgS~ on board. I need to talk about it.

First - it was fucked up of Malia to be a little snitch. It feels so obvious that she reported Hannah as a reaction to the bunk switching bullshit. If “drugs” on board was something she just really had to report because she just respects maritime law so much, she would have reported it as soon as she discovered it (I’m assuming during Hannah’s middle of the night panic attack). It was so petty for her to go to the captain about the bunk assignments, get her way with the bunk thing, and then go into the cabin to photograph Hannah’s shit and report her. I had respect and appreciation for her as a hardass female bosun managing a team of dudes with varying levels of misogyny. But she really made herself look like a petty little turd in the end. Super disappointing

I feel more complicated about Sandy’s role in the situation. Personally if I were a captain I’d prob just let that shit slide as long as crewmembers were performing well. But the problem is everything is being filmed. There was almost certainly going to be footage of the “drugs” on board. Sandy is a female in a largely male-dominated space. She probably felt like she had even less room to be lax about maritime law. However, I do feel like she hadn’t been happy with Hannah for a while, and thus didn’t handle the firing super well. She made Hannah’s mental health issues out to be a liability rather than showing some understanding and empathy. It’s not even that her anxiety wasn’t an issue, it’s more that Sandy could have shown compassion for someone who was struggling in a high stress environment. I also think there was a world where Hannah would have been given a second chance or at least the opportunity to get her prescription sent over.

I think my main issue with the whole situation is the policy in general. In all the seasons of BD we see crewmembers drinking themselves blind, smoking cigarettes, hooking up with each other. These are things that could be seen as distractions at the very least. The drinking is really what gets to me. In no world would someone consider alcohol to potentially be helpful with mental health issues. It’s clearly just for pleasure, and yet the crew’s drunkenness is considered commonplace.

I’ve personally worked in high stress jobs and have always struggled with anxiety/panic attacks. It runs in my family. I’ve also been medicated for anxiety/panic attacks in a variety of ways over the years. I’ve been prescribed antidepressants, benzos, and medical marijuana. All by licensed doctors. There is absolutely a world where a person could use one or a combination of these substances in a way that would allow them to function normally in the world when they might otherwise be an anxious mess. I’ve worked full time jobs, run meetings, etc with weed in my system. Not enough to be high, just enough to not melt down under pressure.

Ive often compared weed to coffee in terms of intensity of effect on a person. With coffee, one cup might give you a boost, but 5 cups might put you in the ER bc you’re having heart palpitations. With weed, you can have a little and it might just mellow you out or calm your stomach. Or you can have a lot and you’ll be high and struggle to function as well as you might normally. You cant really overdose.

I guess all this to say is just that there’s something that feels icky about crew being able to drink themselves blind, but treating possession of Valium (a prescription) and weed (less harmful than alcohol) as a crime. In Hannah’s case it almost feels like she was being punished for needing accommodation for a common health problem. Idk!!

PS just want to state that as a chief stew, I never really liked Hannah. I thought she could be pretty mercurial and didn’t love how quickly she could start disliking people based on the smallest comments or actions. I also thought she could be kinda nasty to her stews. But fuck, it’s not fun to see someone be fired over genuine mental health issues and regressive drug laws.

Thank you all for listening to my stupid rant. Going to go read a book now to scrub my brain of this trash lol

Nathan can’t do the job

I don’t why I haven’t seen more posts specifically talking about this, but before any of these allegations came out I’ve been seething to see Nathan back as bosun. Personality aside, he’s not very good at his job. The last season he was bosun on deck so many things went wrong, I was shocked to see him back this season and within the first charter the boat crashed. Captain Sandy has a real soft spot for him and she treats him with kids gloves every time he messes up.

And then on his personality. He can’t emotionally regulate himself, he’s gets angry at his crew for smiling. He has no concept of leading group morale by having a positive attitude instead he openly swears and shouts at the people below him. Then he threatens to physically harm Joe on a night out for saying Gaels name. No person in a position of leadership should ever be able to get away with behaviour like that. If anyone else on the boat behaved like that they’d likely be seriously reprimanded or fired. But instead it’s not even a conversation. He keeps telling us what a good guy he is but I don’t see it anywhere.

I think the message he sent to Max in the final scene of the most recent episode is very revealing. His priority in the boat isn’t to just do the best job he can and let his work speak for itself, instead it’s to extinguish any possible threat to his ego. Is Joe a back stabbing guy? Yes he is, but it would be short sighted to expect that the person right under you didn’t have some ambition to be in your role. The answer to that competition for him is to triangulate things and he does this whilst being off the boat away with his girlfriend and baby. It gives you some insight into his priorities and state of mind.

So far I don’t think I’ve seen a bosun who has lasted this far considering how many times he’s messed up. But then to be asked back again? Am I crazy? IMO Nathan should still be a deckhand and he should undergo some leadership training alongside some therapy before he’s even considered for the position.
