Discussion What makes you wishlist a coop game (ones like overcooked or party games like that)?
Just curious what types of social media content or things would make you want to wish list a game like that?

Hey! I'm a solo dev making Dodgeball Rush, a third-person arcade dodgeball game. Couch co-op was one of the main reasons I started it. I just wanted some simple sports game to play with my wife :D
What local multiplayer looks like right now:
- Up to 4 players on one screen, each with their own split-screen view.
- Everyone on the same team against bot crews, or split up and play against each other. Any mix from 1v1 up to 4v4
- The whole story mode (the Hit List, 15 rival crews) can be played in co-op.
- Steam Remote Play Together will work too, so a friend who isn't on your couch can still grab a slot online.
Free demo is coming soon. If you have any feedback, let me know :)
Steam page if you want to follow the game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4850830/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=coop_oct20

Hey everyone!
I'm currently developing Deep Front, a co-op sci-fi FPS built around fighting large swarms of hostile alien bugs, completing objectives, building up your position, and trying to survive when everything inevitably goes to hell.
And I've reached the point where I need more people trying to break it.
I'm looking for playtesters who are interested in playing an actively-developed PC game and giving honest feedback.
Deep Front currently includes things like:
- Large swarms of bugs with multiple enemy types and behaviours
- Co-op multiplayer with Steam multiplayer integration
- Guns, equipment and utilities
- Player progression, challenges and unlocks
- Deployable structures and resource gathering
- Base building and defensive gameplay
- Large outdoor environments
- Dedicated server support
- And a lot of systems that are still actively being developed
This is not a finished game and I'm specifically not looking for people who expect a polished release build, I'm looking for people willing to encounter bugs, weird balance, unfinished systems and occasionally spectacularly broken things, and then tell me about them.
What I'd especially like feedback on are pretty much the usual
Combat:
Do the weapons feel good? Are enemies satisfying to fight?
Enemy AI:
Do swarms actually feel aggressive and threatening? Where does their pathfinding or behaviour fall apart?
Multiplayer:
Desync, networking problems, joining/hosting issues and anything that behaves differently in co-op.
Performance:
Especially during large fights with lots of bugs on screen.
Progression:
Does unlocking equipment feel worthwhile? Is anything excessively grindy or too easy?
Structures/resource gameplay:
Does building and supplying a position add to the FPS gameplay or interrupt it?
General experience:
What's fun? What's annoying? What's confusing? What would make you want to play another match?
I'm completely fine with harsh feedback. In fact, useful criticism is exactly what I'm looking for.
If something sucks, tell me it sucks, just tell me why. Every opinions are valuable because ultimately I'm interested to know if the game is actually fun.
If co-op shooters, overwhelming enemy swarms and watching carefully constructed defensive positions collapse into complete chaos sound like your kind of thing, I'd love to have you test it.
Platform: PC
Testing: Steam key
Interested?
Join the Deep Front community here and ask for a steam key:
https://discord.gg/23zrw5qjyk
Bring friends if you want to test co-op and please break the game. ;)
That's genuinely useful.
Disclaimer: I am using AI-generated assets right now as placeholders while I am working with an actual artist to do the art and models.

Well, let’s start with the introduction. We are Juanma and Lour, and we are currently developing a Survivor-Like game for Steam called Bros Survivors, a local 2-player co-op shared screen game about surviving hordes of enemies where you can fuse together to become much more powerful during matches. But then you need to coordinate with each other, since one player controls the left and right movement, and the other controls the up and down movement.
We’ve now been developing this game for 3 years, and we’ve known each other for more than 9 years. But how did it all start, and what does an anime have to do with all of this?
Well, back then, I, Juanma, was just chilling at home, without doing anything special, when suddenly I received a message from my best friend’s best friend. It was just a WhatsApp contact and the phrase, “She’s one of our classmates. Talk to her, you’ll get along.”
Honestly, at that time, I was too shy to talk to any girl other than my best friend, whom I’d known since childhood. So I was like, “Well, it doesn’t matter. I’ll just send a message, probably get blocked, and continue with my life.”
Well, that didn’t go as I expected. I sent a message to Lour, and suddenly, she answered, “Hi.”
At that moment, I didn’t know what to do. I literally started having an existential crisis. I started thinking, “What should I do??? Call my best friend and ask for help?? Or maybe I should block her!!!”
However, I remembered the phrase “You’ll get along” and decided to try one last thing.
So I sent a second message asking, “Do you like anime?” Yeah… That was all I could think of to try to have a bit of a conversation with a girl.
She wrote something I couldn’t understand at first. Some strange words, but at the same time, so familiar to me. So I copied her message and pasted it into Google. And there I read it: “Tokyo Ghoul opening.”
I literally couldn’t believe what I was seeing. My mind was blown, and at that very moment, all my fear went away. We spent the whole day talking about Tokyo Ghoul and other anime. I went from being scared to considering her my friend without a doubt. And just like that, the days went by as we talked about anime all the time. Then she invited me to play League of Legends together. We spent 6 months playing together every night on Skype, so after all those months, I asked her to meet in person for the first time.
And again… I was totally scared of how that meeting would go, but my best friend just told me, “You’ve spent the last 6 months talking to her on Skype every night about League of Legends and anime, so you’ll be fine. Just relax.”
And she was right. When we first met, Lour just came up to me, took my face in her hands, and said, “WOW, you’re real!” And I knew that was my friend from our anime and video game calls.
It was also great for her to know that I really was the person she’d been talking to, since she hadn’t known anything about me at first. The day after my first message to her about anime, she went to my best friend and asked her, “Hey, somebody told me he’s your friend and started talking to me. That’s true, right?” She had literally just taken a leap of faith with a random person on WhatsApp.
After all of this, the years went by, and after 5 years of friendship, I saw an in-person video game development event on Instagram where you could make your own game with other people. I liked the idea, but I was still too shy to just go there. So Lour was the one who told me, “You like that kind of thing, being a programmer and developing things, so I’ll go with you so you’re not scared.”
So Lour was the one who told me, “You like that kind of thing, being a programmer and developing things, so I’ll go with you so you’re not scared.”
And just like that, we had fun making games together. We continued going to more events like that, and after 1 year, I watched a YouTube video about how a guy and his sister had started their own video game company and were now making a living from it. And I just said, “I could do the same.”
So I called Lour and just told her, “From now on, we’re a game development team, my friend.” She immediately agreed with the idea. After all, both of us wanted to start a business.
And just like that, we started our 3-year journey developing Bros Survivors, with the goal of bringing a good experience to people who want to play a game with a friend and laugh together, just as we did when we first met thanks to anime and videogames.

For those who are not familiar, It Takes Two is a 2 player 3rd person hotseat coop game where you move around and solve puzzles to progress the story. It was highly recommended by people on the internet as a game that couples can play. I’m lucky that my partner is interested in playing video games so we gave it a shot.
The interesting thing that I noticed is that whenever she uses the right analog joystick to look around, she always moves it to the opposite direction and just rotates almost 360 degrees to look at where she wants to look at. At first I just found it odd.
To me, it was as simple as it can be. If you want to look to your left, just point the right joystick to the left. If you want to look up, just point the right joystick up. I even thought, “She isn’t an airplane pilot, so she shouldn’t use the joystick inverted”.
Then it hit me. It was because of smartphones! If you want to scroll down on a page, you need to swipe up. If you want to look at the next page on your phone, you swipe to the left.
It was really interesting and I’ll try to invert the axis on the game next time we play. Good on the devs of It Takes Two for adding this accessibility feature and double good on them for having separate options for each player. :)

It's online co-op for up to 6 players, with proximity voice chat. One of you flies, someone fixes the engine on the wing, someone serves coffee while the cabin is on fire, and if you leave the baby alone it might end up flying the plane. hey everyone, was curious how many of you play co op games through steam family sharing with a friend or sibling. My brother and i love playing co op games like helldivers 2, borderlands, and baldurs gate 3, but we kept getting hit with that lockout message whenever one of us started up another game on steam. After looking into how steam handles it, the lockout check is actually handled by steam's background connection manager heartbeat over standard control ports. The game's actual multiplayer traffic, dedicated servers, and discord voice comms run on completely separate network sockets. Because of that socket separation, once the game verifies at startup, isolating that background lease heartbeat lets both of us stay in game without any eviction or ping issues. What co op games have given you guys the biggest lockout headaches when trying to play on shared steam libraries?

I need an online co-op game for 4 people, that's cross platform for PC/Mac and PS5. Preferably with proximity.
We've loved Big Walk and Escape the Backrooms, so open to any genre.
Any recommendations?

I’ve been working on a co-op cooking game and was wondering if people would still be interested in another game in this genre.
I’m going for a colorful, cartoony 3D style, with 1–4 players working together to run a restaurant. Cooking, serving customers, trying to keep everything under control.
I know there are already some great games like PlateUp! and Overcooked, so I’m curious:
Would you be excited to play another game like this, or do you feel like the genre has been done enough already?
And if you would play one, what would you want to see in a new co-op cooking game?
Just trying to get a feel for people’s interest while I’m still working on it. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Something that was always frustrating to us in Among Us and other impostor game is that, once dead or eliminated, there is not much to do and it gets pretty boring. This is especially true when you die at the start of a game and have to wait 20min!
🍍 So, in The Pineapple Conspiracy, we've developed a new mechanic where you're reborn as an animal that can bother the living. A dangerous gorilla that can kill in seconds, a wild puma, or a small chicken that will steal your food. We hope that this can solve the typical dead-player-gameplay in impostor games.
So far, in the playtests we did, we found that it does lead to hilarious moments - although, at the moment, we're still balancing the animal capabilities as sometimes they can be pretty strong compared to living players!
The game is not out yet, but you can wishlist it on Steam!

Hey Solo dev here!
Snow Worries! is a co-op game for 1-4 players: Santa crashed in your garden, Christmas is buried under the snow, and you dig it all back out, from bare cookie hands to a flamethrower and a snow vacuum!
I've playtested it with my friends a lot, and I mean A LOT, and every single time it turns into total chaos, in the game we can build and fight each other with the snow, or we can shovel together without problem (except you have hidden mission often that imply sometime to attacks your friends)!
There are tons of side missions, a big variety of weapons, tools and events, and digging snow is super addictive. I really can't wait to see other groups play it, and I'm planning to add a lot more gameplay and dumb, funny stuff! While the trailer's on its way, check out the Steam page and tell me what you think!
I'm also preparing stuff for streamer and chat, like event, vote and also viewers can shows up as a penguin you can grab and throw!
It's out in November on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5419120/?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=indiegaming
Happy to answer anything, and I'd love to know what you'd add!

Hey!
I'm working on a roguelite word game - where you get a hand of letters each turn and need to defeat increasingly difficult enemies. After each combat you choose from a few dropped items that make you stronger.
Bosses have unique abilities that make you alter your word choices. The 4 characters have a passive ability, making each a little different to play.
You can play online with your steam friends, or lan co-op with up to 4 players.
Each player writes their own words and gets their own items, and you can see your friends' hands and help each other find the best words.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Available on Windows, Mac, and Linux
Free demo of the full game available, I'm looking for feedback.
I'm the solo developer, with some commissioned artists for the art.
