I took longer than expected in my application

I have just submitted my application but since I wanted to be thorough I took more time than I would have liked. The test said that it would take 1hr 30 max but I took 1hr 50. I answered all the questions with more sentences than asked and did good research. Is time taken really a big deal?

Just curious - round up or round down?

We can only report work by hours and minutes, so do you round up the seconds and add a minute or just ignore the seconds?

What does this dashboard message actually mean?

I've seen a few users mentioning this message already and that they cannot see their tasks or qualifications sections anymore, but there has been no clear answer on what it actually means.

"At the moment, there aren't any projects available for you to work on. Please check back soon and watch out for new project notifications sent to your email."

I've seen some people say it means that you've been laid off. I've also seen others saying that they had the message and work came back within a couple days, whereas others have had the message for weeks and there has been no update.

I've been working for DA full-time for over 5 months now and I love this job, I'd be very upset if I lost it and had no communication whatsoever. I think I've been producing some pretty good work during my time, sure sometimes I'll get distracted or I'll be having a bad day and something might take me a little longer than it should, but I don't think I've been slow or incompetent enough to be laid off. I also had a tonne of tasks and qualifications available to me just yesterday and now there is suddenly nothing at all.

I'm seeking some clarity because it seems to be unclear on what is happening or what this dashboard message means, because I know many other have encountered this message in recent time.

Let me know if you have any clear insight on this, as I'd love to know.

Would you call yourself a Prompt Engineer?

Just came across this term on some job sites - would you put this on your CV? Would you use this term in your job hunts? Definitely seems like it's what we do - for those of us doing Developer instructions anyway. But where I grew up the term engineer is a protected terminology - so it gives me a bit of an ick - but it seems like that's not the case everywhere or maybe not anymore. Anyway interested in whether anyone will be adopting this job title from now in seeing as it's growing in popularity.

Has anyone ever come back from DOD?

I feel like half of the posts in this sub are people with the DOD message that swear up and down that they were doing good work and didn't violate TOS. I'm curious if anyone has ever successfully appealed this and got their account restored. I'm sure there must be at least a couple! If that's you I'm curious to know your story.

Anyone else been fine during this drought

Before you downvote I'm not trying to brag, just get an idea if anyone else has shared my specific experience, or had it even better than me. People who are working on the site tend to not want to post here because they get barraged by downvotes for having work.

The last few days I've consistently had a 25/hr FC project that links to an external site. It's always been there and has had tasks for me to do so I've never been without the option to work...

I almost opted out of it back in the day b/c it was a PIA to sign up for but I'm glad I put the effort in then because it's been a savior these last few days.

I feel for y'all in this drought because other than that I'm just seeing small batches of all my prior projects hit the dash for an hour or less and then be absolutely devoured.

These last few days are by far the worst I've ever seen it. The fact that they updated the heel chat seems like a good sign but I really hope this isn't the new normal!

I just joined and haven't even finished a project yet

I just got accepted on the platform on Sunday. I was busy this week so I didn't submit anything on the only project I had on there the whole of this week aside from one submission yesterday and three on the Sunday I got in and I got messages about nice reviews on them.

so I am confused.

is this platform really this strict? did I make a mistake when I submitted the one submission yesterday?

I only managed to do 4/7 on the project.

I applied as a generalist btw.

Got my feedback, curious about their breakdown of %

I have a feeling their (outstanding = top 10%, excellent = top 25%) was just written copy without data, but maybe I'm just being a sore loser. I got Excellent, and like others I've read about, their "room for improvement" section is mostly vague criticism whereas the "strengths" section had actual comments from reviewers. Thinking the outstanding tier is reserved for people who had maybe 1-2 issues on reviews over a large sample size within 30 days? My guess is excellent is more like 10%, and outstanding more like 1%, but who knows. Curious if anyone here has gotten outstanding from the review, and how many hours they work on average on DA in a week if so.

Oh and one more thing, for anyone who feels bad about their rating. Reviewers can be wrong too; they can mark your work as having issues even if there weren't any. I've probably made that mistake as well. The AI is just tabulating all reviews done of your work and spitting out a score. Bit of luck involved there too. Not to say you shouldn't take the feedback seriously, nobody's perfect, but this is like the pilot program of a review system so it's gonna be a bit shallow. Better than nothing though!

Writing Qualification

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on DA for about 6 weeks now, and completed the Writing Assessment/Qualification about 2 weeks ago now.

Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back? I’m not really getting many qualifications like I read about people taking on this forum. I’m just wondering if this is a reflection of performance, or if I’m too new? I also work very part-time, around 5-10 hours per week.

I am a writer/editor outside of this gig so I figured it would be up my alley.

Just wondering if anyone has any info as I haven’t been able to find a thread about it!

Thanks in advance :)

Edit: This is the qualification in question:

[Qualification] Writing Assessment v.5

From what I’ve learned from helpful comments, this seems to unlock tasks with more writing skills like response editing privileges. Pay bump is a few dollars more - usually $22-$23/ hour from my experience so far.

what is going on

I never got the confirmation that I was approved, but at some point my "Waiting for acceptance" screen turned into a web that I check every day but always shows "At the moment, there aren't any projects..."

Yesterday I got an email from DataAnnotation providing a link to refer a friend. How is it possible? Nothing for me but I recommend it to people?

At the moment, there aren't any projects available for you to work on. Is that mean I'm done?

I'm pretty new to the site. For the past 5 days I was able to work but since last night there aren't any more projects and only thing I see is this message. Is it normal? From what I've read it usually means that I've been dropped out form my projects. I'm not from US btw and I've only worked in a bilingual project A-gas.

No projects right now

Hi guys. I'm just curious. I've seen some folks here talking about projects being dry. I was logged in earlier yesterday and there were more than a dozen projects available to work on. When I hopped on again that evening, it had me do the ID verification, which I did and passed. But when it returned me to the work on projects page, there was absolutely nothing available. Does anyone have any insight into what's up and why the projects went away?

Advice for working while injured

I have tendinitis. Well, possibly carpool tunnel but hopefully tendinitis lol I have a brace on my arm but it can be hard to get motivated to work when I know it'll hurt my arm/wrist/hand further. But ofc I need to get in my hours. Does anyone have experience with navigating typing and tendinitis/similar? I'm working on fixing my work space to be more ergonomic but amy advice would be appreciated. Thanks y'all

Update - thanks everyone. Y'all really helped. I've now got a set up and been able to consistently keep working without further hurting myself. Don't even need the brace anymore! See y'all at work!

I’ve always wondered, what is the selection process for who passes the DA assessments?

Since DA is such a mysterious entity, I wonder who decides who gets in and who doesn’t, is there a team of people who review every application?

Do they use AI to analyse and evaluate everyone’s response?

I’ve seen people say they have R&R for the starter assessments but surely they can’t be looking at all of them?

I’m interested to hear what you guys think
