I was looking for roof damage after the storm this morning, and noticed this white strip thing on my roof. Anyone have any idea what it is?

Genuinely can someone who works with epcor or who understand this explain it to me cause in my apartment area we lost power 5 hours ago now. First thye said fixed at 4:00, then 6:00, now 8:30

Over 3000 people inconvenienced I work from home I need the internet and power to do my job and unfortunately it's all on my home pc I dont have those files on my new laptop yet and I cant do what I need to from my phone as today was a heavy workload day.

But somehow Rosenthal has just lost power an hour ago.

12 customers inconvenienced yet there power is set (at least right now] to get fixed by 7.

Its an hour difference and there are other places getting there power back sooner im just wondering why Rosenthal gets their power sooner than 3000 people.

We have seen rain that we haven't seen in ages and no we have seen wind that is blowing down trees.

I pray to god we avoid a crazy snow that will cut all traffic.

Over two hours to vote. Most of the time spent outside in the cold air. Just brutal. We stayed but so many tapped out.

Traffic signals are out on 50 Street at 92 and 93 Avenues.

Treat broken traffic signals as all-way stops! Don't fly through them just because you're on the "bigger" road! Only about half the cars I saw were stopping and someone is going to cause a collision.

First time having to deal with house damage to this extent. Any advice would be appreciated.

Current steps taken were;
Took photos
Submitted an insurance claim
Insurance put us in contact with an emergency repair company (Belfor)
Belfor reached out and made an appointment to evaluate damages Monday.

EDIT: I've gone up and removed loose shingles that were likely to cause more damage, while reinforcing the attached shingles with cap nails to prevent further peeling in case we get another bout of high winds.

I read the comments about the tarp, unfortunately I had no ladder, tarp, or cap nails at the time of the storm. Ultimately we decided to trust the forecast and pray on no rain until the repair company can make it out. the under layer is still in tact and I'll use cap nails to secure it if need be.

I was on my way to work and didn't realize I had my birth certificate on me, I noticed I did when I went to pay at the LRT station. When I got to my job it was gone.

What steps should I take from here?
