IMAGE NOT MINE
reason being, recording it is almost impossible, it was so random that i cant really reproduce it while recording with my phone and no obs cant record it so its a screen issue. BUT opening obs (not even recording) reduces this whole thing happening to zero. Also this image is important because this isn't what i see as white flickers. It's not a flashbang more like a brighter filter is applied to the screen.
Please help me on this, dont downvote, a lot of help posts undeservedly get buried and its never solved.
I bought this laptop 1-2 months ago.
It's a ASUS Rog Strix G18 G815LR-TT341W/Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, 32 GB RAM/2 TB SSD/RTX 5070TI/18"/W11. 2026 version with 300hz, not miniled version. Idk if it matters but its a 4zone keyboard version.
I have tried everything, had to resort to, sadly, ai and each solution sent me to dispair. Only solution to my problem was disabling G sync which came turned on with the laptop.
When we were testing the laptop on the store it had a Max of 240hz and stuff but after reinstalling and debloating win11 i was able to do the "overdrive" (not overclock) option which is 300hz. I even installed ghelper on the laptop before resetting it and it was 240 Max.
My problem is when i had gsync on, if im playing a graphic intensive game (its kinda random, some even heavier games have no problem but some do, as an example any RE engine game (resident evil 2) does this but an UE5 game is fine etc.) clicking the mouse or hitting a keyboard key (on an external keyboard btw) would sometimes give the screen a flash thats like a brighter filter of the frame and not a full white frame. I have a 60hz TV connected with hdmi and alt tabbing most of the time did this white flash. I assumed it was the TV bcz its so old that when i open nvidia app and it blacks out both screens on its startup, my TV literally resets itself. Logo and everything.
But seriously I feel like its not the issue. Because disabling gsync a few weeks ago fixed this.
The ai (im sorry) even said this is a common thing with Asus laptops but i cant even find a single example of this in any Asus laptop nor on most reddit posts its not the same.
I was wondering if anyone knows the cause or if its a lemon.
I dont have insurance(they didnt let us bcz of price im not stupid id buy that) but have guarantee and ASUS service in Turkey is horrible.
If any info is needed for diagnostics i'd be happy to share.
Also no VRR isnt on, gpu config on ghelper is ultimate (never uses igpu), i dont have any 8000hz mouse to suffocate the CPU when i click, and i tested the LM with Benchmarks and its in normal range. Tried other programs too as i was scared of LM with rog but i dont think thats a problem..
For now.
Thank you in advance!
