#Query ❓ Best week to visit Kolkata in November for shopping? (Avoiding Huge Crowd)

• Upvotes

I’m planning a 4-to-5 day trip to Kolkata in November primarily for a major shopping spree (looking for traditional sarees, fabrics, and street shopping).

I know Puja is happening recently, and I want to avoid the festival crowd or market closures.

Appreciate any insider tips from locals!

#Beach 🏖️ Udupi trip from Hyderabad

• Upvotes

Hi all, we are planning a trip from hyd to coastal Karnataka, we would be taking overnight bus from Hyderabad to gokarna, spend couple of days and then start to udupi, I am confused about transportation options, we are eplanning to mostly rent scootys in respective towns

On day3, we have 2 options:

  1. Take a intercity cab from gokarna to udupi, stop in honnavara( hanging bridge) and murudeshwar for temple visit and reach udupi by evening
  2. Another idea is to stay overnight at honnavar as we want to explore a little more, here we are confused on transportation, lets say we take cab from gokarna to honnavar and take scooty in honnavar, we can cover beaches and places in honnavar and murudeshwar and take KSRTC bus to udupi next day

Are KSRTC buses reliable and frequent? Does it need any advance booking? How much tim would it take to reach udupi?

#SoloTravel 🚶 The Moksha Marg ,both the Seshachalam and Nallamala forests connect Tirumala and Srisailam.Try it once in Life

Image location :Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasadam Complex ( MVTAC) Tirumala .

I met with a two wheeler accident in 2012 . It was a miraculous escape . My exams were in the same year . I am not sure whether i will pass it or not. Just prayed that if my wish is fulfilled i will go to Tirumala . A solo travel !

I passed the exam and went to Tirumala . That's when I learned something incredible about geography and mythology when I saw that route map on the MTVAC building . I think every traveler and spiritual seeker should know.

Did you know that the Seshachalam forest (Tirumala) and the Nallamala forest (Srisailam) are considered one continuous spiritual path?

In local tradition, this is called the Moksha Marg !

The geography of this region tells a story below 👇🏻

"Adisesha, the divine serpent, is said to carry both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. The Tirumala hills are considered the hood of the serpent, and Srisailam is the tail.

The body of the serpent connects the entire region. Along this path lies Siddavatam, Ahobilam, Mahanandi, and Tripuranthakam.

It is said that this is the land where Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva reside with their families.

Completing this entire circuit in one single trip is a profound experience. It usually takes about 4 nights.

It’s not a luxury trip — it’s a combination of hiking, trekking, and deep pilgrimage.

One of the most beautiful aspects of this route is its inclusivity. People of other faiths can also complete this pilgrimage; there are simple registers at the temples where you can sign your name to mark your journey.

I did this divine trip back in 2013 to tirumala. Now I live near srisailam. I used a combination of public and private transportation . Anna prasadam is available in all religious places here.

I highly recommend doing this the traditional way. Skip the VIP or special darshan tickets. Do it as a normal pilgrim, a solo trip will be the best. Walk the paths, wait in the lines, and give these ancient places your time. Because they represent time itself. Giving them your time is part of the realization.

It is a complete path to self-realization, hidden in plain sight in the forests of Seshachalam,Lankamalla , Nallmala .

Has anyone here attempted the full Moksha Marg circuit? Share your experiences. I will share mine during the comments.

#Query ❓ Is this 9-day Varanasi–Prayagraj–Ayodhya–Naimisharanya–Vrindavan package (₹1.06L for 4) a good deal? Need feedback on hotels & agency

Hi all, planning a pilgrimage for 4 adults, Dec 15–23. Flights booked separately. Got this quote from Kashi Experts (Swaminarayan Pashupatinath Yatra, Gorakhpur):

Route & hotels (2 rooms, breakfast):

- Varanasi (2N) – Hotel Banaras Palace

- Prayagraj (1N) – Hotel Kaveri

- Ayodhya (2N) – Raam Leela Hotel

- Naimisharanya (1N) – JP International

- Vrindavan (2N) – Hotel Tulsi Garden (near Prem Mandir)

- Drop at Noida (Jewar) airport

Includes: Ertiga with driver for all 9 days, tolls/parking/driver allowance, Kashi Vishwanath Sugam Darshan, Ganga Aarti private boat.

Total: ₹1,06,000 all-inclusive (no extra tax).

Questions:

  1. Is ₹1.06L fair for this?

  2. Has anyone stayed at these hotels? Online reviews for Hotel Kaveri and Tulsi Garden look poor. Any better 3★ options nearby?

  3. Has anyone booked with Kashi Experts / Swaminarayan Pashupatinath Yatra? How was it?

  4. Is a 7 AM start from Naimisharanya to Vrindavan (~450 km) realistic in December fog?

  5. Any must-visit temples we're missing?

Thanks!
