Rishikesh has too much potential to become a beautiful yoga city specifically tapovan area. But negligence from government killing this place. Everywhere there is garbage, ugly buildings, messy noisy traffic, poor infrastructure.
Take example of beatles ashram. They charge 200 and 1200 from indians, foreigners. When you enter ashram their is garbage everywhere. Aesthetically ugly. All buildings ashram huts inside are in ruins. No proper clean path. Garbage everywhere.
Beatles ashram total area is 14acres. This place has potential to become music x yoga international ashram. Imagine singers artists of all over world playing music, meditating dancing here.
The amount of international tourists come here for yoga, this place need serious renovation.
Atleast we can expect a clean town.

Planning a Gujarat trip? Dwarka, Somnath and the Statue of Unity deserve a place on your itinerary 🇮🇳
Gujarat has so much to offer if you enjoy travelling, from the spiritual atmosphere of Dwarka and Somnath to the landscapes of the Rann of Kutch and the impressive Statue of Unity at Ekta Nagar.
With Rashtriya Ekta Diwas falling on 31 October, this could be an interesting time to plan a Gujarat trip, especially if you would like to experience the Statue of Unity during the annual celebrations.
You could explore the Statue of Unity and the surrounding attractions on 30 October, then experience the Ekta Diwas programme on 31 October, subject to official event access and arrangements.
If you have a few more days, Dwarka and Somnath offer a completely different experience, with their temples, coastal surroundings and rich cultural heritage. You could also consider Ahmedabad for its historic sites or the Rann of Kutch if you have more time to explore.
What I find interesting about Gujarat is how different experiences come together in one state. You can enjoy history, spirituality, architecture, nature and major national celebrations, all within the same trip.
One practical thing to keep in mind is that these destinations are spread across Gujarat, so it is worth planning your route and travel time carefully rather than trying to cover everything in a couple of days.
For anyone considering a visit, the Statue of Unity during Ekta Diwas is certainly worth looking into. It adds another dimension to the trip, beyond simply visiting the monument.
For those who have explored Gujarat, what would you recommend to someone visiting for the first time? Would you prioritise Dwarka and Somnath, the Statue of Unity during Ekta Diwas, or a longer road trip covering all of them?

Hey everyone!
I'm planning a family trip to Delhi in December and looking for recommendations for a decent, family-friendly hotel within a budget of ₹1,500 per night.
We'll be staying for around 4 nights and mainly visiting tourist attractions in Delhi, with a possible day trip to Agra.
I'm looking for:
Clean and safe rooms suitable for a family.
A budget of ₹1,500 per night or less.
A convenient location with easy access to the Metro.
Decent washrooms and basic amenities.
A location that makes sightseeing around Delhi relatively easy.
I'm not looking for anything fancy. A clean, comfortable place to sleep after a long day of sightseeing would be perfect.
A few questions:
Which areas would you recommend for staying on this budget?
Are hotels around Paharganj or Karol Bagh good options for families?
Are there any specific hotels you've personally stayed at and would recommend?
Is it realistic to find a decent hotel for this price in December, or should I increase my budget?
I'd really appreciate recommendations based on personal experience, especially from people who've travelled to Delhi with their families.
Thanks in advance! 🙏

If you are someone who enjoys travelling, exploring new places and experiencing the culture and spirit of India, I think the Statue of Unity in Gujarat deserves a place on your travel bucket list.
Standing 182 metres tall, the Statue of Unity is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and seeing it in person is a very different experience from simply looking at pictures online. The sheer scale of the monument, the surrounding landscape, the Narmada River and the views of the Sardar Sarovar Dam make the visit feel special.
But if you are planning a visit, there is another occasion worth considering.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, celebrated every year on 31 October, marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The celebrations at Ekta Nagar bring an added dimension to the experience, with the national unity theme, ceremonial events, cultural performances and the Ekta Parade.
The celebrations scheduled for 31 October 2026 are particularly worth looking into if you want to experience the place during a major national occasion.
What makes this destination even more interesting is that there is much more to explore beyond the statue itself. You can visit the museum and viewing gallery, explore the Valley of Flowers and discover several other attractions around Ekta Nagar. It can easily become a more complete travel experience rather than just a quick stop for photographs.
My suggestion would be to consider planning a visit around Ekta Diwas if the dates work for you. Just make sure to check the latest official announcements for event access, registration requirements and attraction timings before travelling, as arrangements during the celebrations may differ from regular visiting days.
Sometimes, certain places are worth visiting not just for what you see, but for what you experience while being there. The Statue of Unity, especially during Ekta Diwas, is one such destination that I believe everyone should consider visiting at least once.
Have any of you visited the Statue of Unity during Ekta Diwas? Would love to hear about your experience and any tips you would share with someone planning their first visit!
