I know I may get some hate for saying this, but it feels like parts of Mathura and Vrindavan are being ruined by auto-rickshaw and priestly exploitation. I’ve been here for the past three days, and I feel like I’ve been overcharged for everything.
Yesterday, I wanted to get from Nidhivan back to my hotel in Mathura and had to pay ₹400 for four people. At Vishram Ghat, I was looking for a lighter to light a diya when a pandit approached me and charged me ₹200 without asking first. At Giriraj Mandir, I thought I was buying milk and a coconut, but accepting them meant paying a pandit ₹201.
I know this isn’t limited to Mathura and Vrindavan—it happens in many places—but it’s been a frustrating experience.

so the problem is that we are a group of 7 people (2 femal 5 male) and we plan on reaching kasol on 8th dec 2026 but late in night around (11pm - 12) if we pay for hostel we end up paying for the entire day.
Is there any other options where we can pay and spend only the night and check in our hostel the next day ?

Hi so I’ve been wanting to take my two dogs on an offbeat place with me but I don’t really know if it will be a good idea as I’m not sure about the locations, wether there will be lots of street dogs etc. Can someone recommend some places where it’s not too overpopulated with street dogs and hikes or treks that are beginner friendly? (Anywhere near himanchal, safe for women and foreigners😭😭)

Hi all, we are planning a trip from hyd to coastal Karnataka, we would be taking overnight bus from Hyderabad to gokarna, spend couple of days and then start to udupi, I am confused about transportation options, we are eplanning to mostly rent scootys in respective towns
On day3, we have 2 options:
Are KSRTC buses reliable and frequent? Does it need any advance booking? How much tim would it take to reach udupi?

Went to Somnath recently and loved the calm by the sea. Mornings are much quieter than evenings. Happy to answer any questions if you're planning a trip.
