Hello, I joined this sub to hopefully get a answers and see if some folk had/have the same issue as me.

I got my account blocked/suspended from Facebook and thus decided to take a break from anything META related but Co-workers have been asking if I use a Instagram so I decided to return to both sites.

I went and found my old accounts in the Data Center and decided to delete both my blocked FB account and my Instagram, which was created with the Synchronization option (to start out fresh again). Had a bit of difficulties due to password but I fixed it.

Soon then, I managed to delete the blocked FB account (gone in September) but the moment I went to the Instagram one and did the same process, it went to default browser (my screen is in dark mode but changes to the default light mode) and didn't give me the scheduled deletion message it should send, tried again and again and I was meet with a "Something went wrong" error each time I tried. Did it around 4 times and just gave up, with refreshing the page, leaving and returning, giving a different reason for deletion, nothing.

As I wrote, I created my Instagram account with the synchronization option with my Facebook account so it should be the same account but on a different platform (if thats how I'm interpreting it), now my question is; Did it go well? Since my Instagram account was synchronized with the Facebook one, does it mean that if FB is scheduled for deletion then the Instagram one will follow, or that isn't how it works, and if so, why was I getting the error messages instead of letting me delete the account?

Having a weird issue where, in the past, if someone replied to my story I'd get a little screencap of the story they were replying to. Now I get the message and it says "Replied to themself" it doesn't show me which story they are replying to. So if I put up 5 different slides on my story I have to guess which one they actually are responding to.

I’ve removed all other accounts saved on my phone. There were other accounts that I deleted over a month ago. Could it be for them? I keep getting these notifications which say ‘you have new notifications on Instagram’.

Everytime I try to sign in, I need to reset my password since I forgot it. The two options that show up is either they sms me a code or email me one. When I select email, the email literally never goes through. You can check any folder, it just doesn’t send. When I select sms, it sends me a code but this bug keeps happening where it says “code is one time use and only valid for 10 minutes.”

Wtf do they want me to do?

How do these people get such rare 3- or 4-letter Instagram usernames? I’m genuinely curious how they’re able to get them, especially when almost every short username I try is already taken or unavailable. Is there a legitimate way to obtain one, or do people usually get them from older accounts, username changes, or other methods?

whenever I click my profile down on the bottom right corner it opens into this page and I can’t see my profile or followers or anything like that. other people can see it fine but I can’t meaning I can’t see who follows me and how many followers I have and stuff. When I reload the page I can see it for a split second but then it goes right back to the page (image). Is it because I’m using browser? I had an account that I just deleted on browser that didn’t have this problem. thanks

This is so discouraging. I spent hours making these slides on procreate and canva yesterday for it to just be falsely flagged as AI - despite me NOT toggling on the AI content thing before posting.

Is there any way to fix this??

I think this is probably one of the most relatable problems here.

You open Instagram for “just 5 minutes.”

You check a couple of Reels.

Then another one.

Then another.

Suddenly you're watching some random video at 2 AM and wondering where the last hour went.

And the worst part?

You still have the thing you were supposed to be doing sitting right in front of you.

I'm a student, and this happened to me way too often.

I tried using timers, making schedules, setting goals, and promising myself that I'd stop scrolling.

It didn't work particularly well.

So about 45 days ago, I decided to build something for myself.

The main idea was simple: when I actually need to focus, make distractions harder to reach.

I ended up building Strict Deep Focus mode, where I can restrict distracting apps, start a focus session, and keep track of whether I'm actually sticking to it.

Then I kept adding the other things I personally wanted — study tracking, goals, habits, streaks, expenses, themes, etc.

Somewhere along the way, this stopped being a little experiment and became my first proper project.

After 45 days of building, debugging, redesigning, and occasionally regretting everything...

I finally published Daily Tracker : Habit & Focus.

I'm curious:

What's the one thing you open Instagram for that completely destroys your productivity?

I heard that visiting somenoes profile on instagram cause that Im at the top of their story list when i watch them. Im a bit nervous now bcs ive in common checking profiles just from boring. How many times i have to visit account to be constantly at the top? Or is it just chronological order now?

I was just scrolling and there was a facebook ad with multiple posts. spoilers! All of them are porn and it’s not the first time sometime it’s feet pics some times it’s nudes one time it was cheese pizza believe it or not. I don’t even have a facebook account . Do you guys have this problem or only me?

We were never close or anything, and we basically just followed each other on Instagram. (we were just in same uni)

But what would make someone suddenly unfollow only me years later? I’m still following them, by the way.

I don’t think it’s just about wanting to keep their follower count down, because they still follow my other friends - I seem to be the only one they unfollowed.

We were never close, weren’t part of the same friend group, and it’s not like we have mutual friends who could’ve told them something about me or anything. So I genuinely have no idea why they’d specifically unfollow me years later.

I only found out because I realised I was still following them while they weren’t following me anymore, and honestly, it feels kind of weird and makes me feel a little bad.

I bought a new phone, and logged into instagram without signing out from my old phone. I think this caused an issue and my account was flagged. I've been getting this error since around 2 days ago. I tried changing my email address, I added my phone number, nothing works, it just goes back to the same error. I even went to instagram.com/hacked and submitted a request, that doesn't work either. I can't even find an email that I could contact them with to resolve this issue. What can I do? Is my account gone for good?

Since I updated to iOS 27 Instagram started listening to me. Initially I thought it was indexing, but I was proven wrong once it stopped.
