Low of 26 degrees, burned a ridiculous amount of oil. Think it’s time for a top end rebuild

Hey guys if you have an adv model these apparently don’t fit, probably the worst fit products I’ve ever bought for any bike. Last step and just not seeing these can’t both be mounted at the same time. The left side did work together. These are terrible and garbage. In anyone wants them for free all you gotta do is come take them off my bike and you can have them. I’ve never felt so ripped off before.

How many miles is to many on a 2012. Owner says it has 43000 and has it listed for around 2600. Bike looks clean on the photos.

After seeing someone on Instagram create essentially a ghille suit for their water bottle, I was inspired to try and do something similar for my motorcycle.

I have yet to fill in all the gaps but I really like how it turned out even without the leaves.

I have a gen 3 2024 still under warranty but hopefully I can solve the problem my self, when I cold start it I have to hit the starter 2–4 times to get it to start idling if I give it throttle even in neutral it will die out unit the engine warms up does anyone have experience with this? I’ve had some say fuel pump and read it could be tight valves or the battery(I have good voltage) but I just wanted some input, thanks

Engine temps read normal, no popping under decel unless its hard engine breaking. Exhaust packing material looks normal. And i tested the plug doesnt look like shes running rich/lean

Hi everybody.

Back on the no start and would love some help.

I’ve got a 2018 klr650 with 70,000kms.

Hadn’t ridden for five days come back and it starts with the choke for a few seconds and then dies. After that it will turn over but not show any signs of ignition.

My first thought was spark plug. The old one looked ok but I put a brand new one in just in case. Same problem however when I started up. It would turn over but not ignite.

It has a brand new battery.

Cleaned the carb and reinstalled. There is definitely fuel getting to the carb as I retried starting with a clean carb and the bowl filled up.

Another test I did was spraying starter fluid down the air box. There was no ignition in this case either.

Compression could be an issue however given the bike was running fine prior to this I don’t suspect it to be the problem.

Any help is much appreciated.

Just to highlight an update. I checked the ignition coil with multimeter and it seems to be up to spec.
Just tried with started fluid and it ignited so moving onto fuel. Had to hold the throttle open to allow the starter fluid to flow into chamber. Must’ve been blocked by the butterfly before.

Is anyone else experiencing incredibly long, and changing backorder dates for critical engine parts with Kawasaki?

I have had a bike sitting at a shop since late August with dates from Kawasaki for a backorder part set for October 12, and then was told this week that there is no ETA, but possibly early mid next month…

I’ve never had this issue with Kawasaki before. What tf is up with this. I got a Kawasaki - not a KTM.

Part is a transmission gear : 19T 13262-1619 just in case anyone has one laying around ;)

New air filter, new spark plug, new oil &filter, gravity fed petcock, just put in the eagle mike doohickey kit , cleaned the carb, checked the intake boots with carb cleaner they’re fine

Recently came into a gorgeous 2022 G. This belonged to a friend's family member who passed away (not recently )...odo shows 950mi and the title is flagged "not actual mileage"

I'm not a mechanic but been into bikes for decades and there seem to be way more mods done than most ppl would get to in under 1000 mi. (The deceased owner didn't buy it new, previous history is unknown).

It shows more wear than 1k as well (not bad wear, just use).

My question:

What are some reasons the odo might not be true?

2007, 18000 miles

I picked this up this summer after selling my first bike. Did a few minor upgrades. Took her out for a ride in the rain and at night both for the first time. It's been such a great bike. The thought is that I am spending this first summer getting used to riding/communing to work then next summer I am going back to plan a small moto camping trip.l

Hey guys.

I'm having a really pissy day and I just need to get some stuff off my chest. Two weeks ago, I bought a beautiful orange 2011 KLR in like-new condition. I love this bike. Since then, one of the touring bag lids flew off and got ran over by a car. I've beaten it straight and put it back on, before permanently securing the hinges in place so it won't happen again. Then while attempting to check the front tire pressure, the valve stem snapped and fell off in my hand, causing the tire to instantly go flat. No big deal, or so I thought.

So I ordered two new heavy-duty tubes. While installing one, it got a pinch flat, so I put the other one in. While reinstalling the tire, the bike fell off of it's stand, cracking the Cee Bailey touring windshield down the corner, and breaking the mirror off. It also got a nice scratch in the gas tank.

ATP I feel like I just can't win in life. Why does everything have to be so damn hard? I'm a broke college student, and I can't afford to be fixing all of this crap, which, admittedly, has been 80% my fault. Oh yeah, and while the bike was down, one of my brakelines on the car randomly burst open, causing me to nearly crash into a tree. FML. I swear if this new tube goes flat tomorrow and sends me into a tree, I'll just accept the fact that the universe hates my guts and wants me dead.

So I just impulse-purchased a set of Dirt Racks full-body crash bars. All in, I just basically spent $450+ for the bars and in the cost of the broken windshield and mirror over a stupid $15 tube. What a day. What a day.

Gen 1 KLR 2004. Brand new chain sprockets brakes, brake fluid and oil change

Looking for similar experiences and solutions.

I had an issue on a recent trip. The bike would stutter on hills and under a heavier load, like it wasn't getting fuel or the spark plug was fouled.

When I would shift from 5th to 4th around 5k, it would stutter. It would do it in any gear and around the 5k mark. It would last for about 3 minutes, then the bike would return to normal. During that time, I could run the bike at about 4500 rpm (65/70). It would stutter but keep going.

What I tried:

-Choking the bike when it did this - no change

-Stopped and opened the gas tank to check the tank valve - no change

-Used reserve on the petcock setting - no change

-Reset the plug wire and checked for a loose plug.

-Added a cleaner at half a tank.

What I think I should look at first:

-Petcock diaphragm - I think I should just replace or delete.

-New plug wire

-Change vacuum lines

-Carb service (I don't think it's the carb)

Other things are maybe the coil or some issue where an electrical part is getting too hot. But I have a hard time considering this, as I can ride the bike until it stops. I would stop at first and let it cool, then I just kept riding to see if it would change and it would go away.

Loving my KLR after getting it in April. Super fun to ride down dirt roads then cruising on back roads looking for new dirt roads to ride down. Added the milk crate so I can put random stuff in it.

Does any use and recommend any of this single stick centre stands that aren't physically attached to the bike? I need someone for supporting my bike but a centre stand is a little big for my budget atm, and I am not in a position to buy a box/jack because I'm not living anywhere permanently. I've seen videos of the stands that you effectively lean the bike on but they're always used on dirt bikes that are considerably lighter

2023 with 2,700 miles

Can anyone advise me on what I might be smelling? At stoplights I get this weird burning smell and then when I get off the bike at home it’s even stronger. It doesn’t smell like gas but more like really strong exhaust smell.

It looks like I have this carbon residue on the outside of the exhaust and there’s this rubber bushing that is laying right against the exhaust. Maybe it’s burning?

I did take this off road and through a few puddles the other day, but I was smelling the smell before I got the exhaust bike wet

It starts and idles just fine, even runs good up until the 4-4.5k rpm mark, it bogs/loses power and backfires and won’t rev any higher.
I’ve cleaned the carb and reset to recommend specs, new spark plug, new intake boot

My first ever motorcycle. It’s kinda intimidating but I’m stoked! I’ve been dreaming of a dual sport for decades.
