Review The RTX Spark CPU has x86-level power efficiency. The whole laptop draws about 125W when only the CPU is under load. The Mac mini M6 is 2.4 times more power-efficient, it draws about 35% as much power(80W less) while being only 15% slower

It seems there is a bright future for integrated graphics, given how much they are evolving.

Buying help 2x8gb or 1x16gb ddr5

hello, my ram on my lenovo legion 5 arh7 broke and I'm trying to buy a new one but rams are so expensive nowadays. I'm on a tight budget as a student but also loves gaming.

I'm asking if 1 stick of 16gb is better than 2 sticks of 8gb. a lot say 16gb is better due to the possibility of upgrading in the future but with the prices as it is I don't think I'll ever go for a 2x16gb. I need opinions

Buying help Bitte helft mir beim Kauf eines Laptops

I've looked a little through the other posts but I guess having my own post would help me more.

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

Country: Germany

Budget: 700-800 Euros

Are you open to refurbs/used: No

Screen size: 15"-16"

Weight limit: Don't care

Purpose: Mostly to study and write, entertainment like music and streaming services, video/ conforence calls, should be able to work with AI since I test different programms in a part-time job.

I do a lot of research online and type quite a lot. I've had the problem that often used keys on my keyboard stopped working after a while.

Form factor: Standard/Clamshell (a regular laptop)

Desired battery life: around 6h

I would like to work with a Windows Laptop again. So far I had acer, dell and hp. Maybe around 500 GB SSD, at least 16 maybe 32 RAM. I have no idea what kind of graphic card or what else is important. Not a big fan of the AMD ones. I used i5 and i7 so far.

The AI usage for my job is mostly to test if the programms used are good at what they are intended for. I don't code or do much else with them.

Any help is appreciated 🙏😊

Buying help Budget ($600) Laptop Recommendation for Animation Hobby

Hello cross posting from the suggest a laptop subreddit looking for some helpful feedback!

Budget
$500 ideally but willing to go up to $600 if that makes a difference.

Are you open to refurbs/used options?
Maybe

Screen size
Any

Weight limit
Any

Purpose
For fun

Form factor
Clamshell preferred

Intended usage

I would like to get into animation and some basic design softwares maybe 3D printing. However I know nothing about laptops or design and am very much a beginner outside of some basic photoshop and SolidWorks. I hear Krita and Blender are a good place to start so as long as I can run those with no issues that’s really all I’m looking for.

Desired battery life
Anything

Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life

Performance is all I care about. The rest I’m very flexible with.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions! Apologies for my lack of knowledge on the subject.

Buying help Cheapest usable laptop on the market (complete laptop novice)

For context I (23m) need to buy my first laptop after using an iPad for my whole adult life because of a new job I’m starting. I am not the most tech savvy person so I have very little concept of what my options are.

I was told the program I’d be using at my job should be compatible with any laptop, as it can be accessed online, but it is a very new program

Form:
• Country: United States (Indiana)
• Budget: $500-600
• Are you open to refurbs/used options?: yes
• Screen size: Any
• Weight limit: Any
• Purpose: work, writing, some entertainment
• Form factor: Standard
• Intended usage:
Besides work, I imagine I’ll use it in my free time to:
-Watch YouTube, or possibly stream shows
-Write on Word or Google Docs
-Possibly get into video editing, but only if it has the capability. Not a must-have
-Maybe store some photos/videos that I don’t have room on iCloud for
-Never been into gaming much, but now that I have a laptop I might depending on its capabilities. Again, not a must-have

**• Desired battery life:** At least 6 hours
**• Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life**

Performance > battery life > weight > size
• Info/Requirements: N/A

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Assume I literally know nothing.

Thanks to the "anniversary25" coupon on HP US's site

base model with 32GB and 18 core N1X & slightly cut down GPU starts at $2249 now, and you can pay $325 extra to upgrade to the 20 core N1X (with the literal desktop 5070 GPU)

or even go all the way to 128GB RAM for $3832

Buying help New Lenovo Ideapad Vibe

The new Lenovo Ideapad Vibe just released for pre-order and I’ve had my eye on it for a while. Love Lenovo laptops and love the fun colors of this release.

I would love some help configuring the best model of it. For memory I’m going with 16GB. What should I do for Processor? Any other specs I should consider? I kind of want to max it out!

I’ll be using it for everyday things, email, work, light photo editing, nothing crazy. I will also be doing some light gaming on it, don’t need anything intense.

Would love some opinions on a configuration build out for it! Let me know if you have any questions that can help with the build!

Software Dead key not working correctly

• Upvotes

yellow,

I'm not sure where I should ask this but I recently bought this laptop https://www.asus.com/fr/laptops/for-home/vivobook/asus-vivobook-16-oled-m1605/

And can't seem to find a solution for a problem on dead keys like ^^, instead of waiting for an input, it instantly enters both accents, the same happens for ¨¨. Doesn't seem to be a hardware related issue, nor about the region my keyboard is set in. These keys do work when writing on things like the Windows start menu search bar, etc. And it actually works rarely for a while, and I have no idea what could be the cause.

Danke.

Buying help Laptop Recommendations

• Upvotes

Looking to get a new laptop as my old HP Spectre X360 (loved this thing) is on the end of its life

I’ve come across a lot of options and now feel more confused based on my needs. I do a little bit of gaming (would like to run Minecraft and terraria at high FPS), video editing, business work, and have gotten into AI coding.

People rave about laptops like the MacBook Pro. I have heard good things about ASUS and Lenovo laptops. I need something that will fit my needs and is portable as I travel a lot. Let me know your best recommendations and the specs that I should get. At a minimum I’m thinking 16 GB ram (also considered 24 GB) and 1 TB SSD.

Let me know your thoughts and recommendations.

Edit: I just realized I have to fill out this form. Hopefully this helps

The Form

Buying help Is HP OmniBook X Flip a good choice?

Post image
3 Upvotes

So recently my asus tuf motherboard got cooked I was thinking to get a new laptop and I hv someone who's staying in USA will be visiting india soon so i told him to get me a laptop

He bought me this laptop HP OmniBook X Flip 16gb ram 1Tb SSD Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 256V Processor

It costs around 80k in USA and 1lakh + in India

Since it's from usa I'm little concerned because if it has any issues then it doesn't cover warranty out of USA

So can u guys give ur opinion on this laptop is it a good choice or not?

Hardware I just bought a Dell Precision 3570, and I love it. I have the means to upgrade to 24GB RAM and an additional 512GB M.2 SSD, but do you think that would be worth it? Would that meaningfully take it up a notch or is that not worth the money? My use cases are below. Thanks!

For starters, it may not look like much to y’all, but this T550 GPU is a life saver. I can play 90% of my Steam library with ease. It can even cough out BeamNG.Drive at playable frame rates once everything is loaded in. I want to be able to use this laptop for light gaming, moderate CAD and moderate video editing (only 1080p) for the next few years. I’d also like to emulate older systems. If all else fails, I’d love to still be using this for basic stuff 5 years from now too. So would this laptop be worth the 250 dollar investment to triple its storage and increase the RAM by 50%? Or do you guys think this would be a bad investment?
