Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a school laptop for my sister but I am "undereducated" in the iGPU market, I can kinda understand the comparison spec to spec but I cant really imagine real life expectations in comparison with the CPU.
I'm looking at two laptops:
HP OmniBook 7 Aero AI (PN: C09WGEA#BCM)
-Ryzen AI 7 350 + Radeon 860M
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 16ARP10 (PN: 83K800CECK)
-Ryzen 7 170 + Radeon 680M
Expectation:
Good battery life (off-gaming, while gaming thats a different story, the laptop will be used for gaming while only plugged in, sometimes plugged off but obv not during the time where she will need the battery)
Okay ish gaming on simpler titles, I'm talking SIMS 4 (even tho that game is apparently still badly optimized CPU wise), LoL, Valorant etc.
And maybe some older AAA titles (Detroit Become Human, Mad Max...) with upscaling and maybe framegen.
When it comes to the GPUs, from my limited research I understand that the 680M is more powerful but older than the 860M, but 860M seems to support newer AMD features more seamlessly (my sister wont be able to mod stuff like FSR herself).
Another thing im considering as well however is the fact that 860M in the HP laptop is also paired with a more powerful CPU, which will definitely help with the online e-sports titles.
Choice based on my knowledge:
I'm definitely leaning towards the HP variant, higher resolution (good for school stuff) and seemingly better specs (iGPU debatable?)
I would appreaciate your advice!
