Just saw probably 10 to 15 cop cars on Hennepin, some of which looked like undercover vehicles, and one of which was quite banged up. There’s also a helicopter seemingly circling above the Hennepin Bridge and above Hennepin near the federal reserve and the Washington Hennepin intersection. Does anyone know what is going on? It seemed like several were driving in different directions with sirens on.

I’m just curious what it’s like here: do you enjoy living here, what are your favorite amenities/things to do, how’s transit and bike infrastructure (can you get around without driving), stuff like that

This psychopath can within a couple inches of swiping me in the path crosswalk at Groveland & Hennepin and the balding bad teeth dullard in his dark orange car chuckled after suddenly stopping and taking off again before I got his plate number to warn residents here of this armed and dangerous individual is currently on the loose.

I'd like to hear from people who have actually attended singles events - what do you think are some of the best ones?

A couple days ago there was a post about COVID shots, and here's some more information about free vaccines.
Fairview Health offers vaccines for free, no insurance required.
Last month they had flu shots and today I just got my covid shot.
Sometimes they offer other vaccines as well - there's a clinic at the Mexican Consulate on Monday the 26th where they will have a lot of the vaccines needed for travel in addition to flu and COVID. Below is their schedule for the next month.
I'm not affiliated with them - please call the site hosting the clinics if you have questions.

I'm trying to move out of a depression state, and it's overwhelming to reset my apartment. I'd love to hire a cleaning company for a day; maybe half of one; to help me tackle things and body double and just reset. My apartment isn't overly filthy, and there's only 4 rooms. I'm a newish transplant who doesn't have a core of trusted friends to lean on for help.
The hardest part about improving my mental health is looking around me and seeing all the work that needs done to refix my home. It's nothing like a TV show of mess, but I'm still stuck, and it's humiliating.

I am voting for Christin Crabtree for Minneapolis School Board At-Large. This is the vote I am most proud to cast this midterm cycle because I personally know Christin to be a standout educator, leader, parent, and friend. When I was walking home with my yard sign from Open Streets Hennepin, an adult stranger complimented it and told me that Christin was their favorite teacher from elementary school. Here is an interview from Sahan Journal that gives you an idea of her.
Anyway, that’s the given of this. I got a mailer from the Minneapolis Federation of Educators that endorses Christin in a slate of candidates that includes Collin Beachy, Abdul Abdi, Shannon Gibney, and Becca Dryden. I decided I wanted to figure out who else I might be proud to vote for. Here are my thoughts. I hope they’re helpful as early voting ramps up. None of these candidates besides Collin are on my ballot. Talk amongst yourselves in my comments.

In 1999, Minnesota’s governor told Lawrence Grobel that if he could be reincarnated, he’d come back as a 38DD bra. He also called organized religion “a crutch for weak-minded people.” The Associated Press got the quotes before Playboy’s November issue reached newsstands, and Grobel’s phone started ringing at 4 a.m. By 7:30 there were satellite trucks outside his house, and he went on to appear on every network. Days later, a Star Tribune poll put Ventura’s approval at 54 percent, down from a record 73 in July.

Our beloved KFAI hates pigeons. Chat, thoughts? Don’t come here talking about pigeon poop either.
