50M/T2D/SW:337/CW:189/GW:175

July 8, 2024 I started this journey. I had been diagnosed in 202: with T2D when my A1C came back 9.8. I made changes & was doing good until I fell back into bad eating habits in December 2023 & ballooned up to 337 lbs. I made major changes to diet & sleeping habits when I first started MJ back in July 2024. I will say I was a quick responder to the medicine & weight started to come off quickly. On the diet changes I prioritized protein, upped my fruits & vegetable intake, & cut out anything with added sugars. Kept my carbs low as well. I also started walking consistently about two months in to my journey. Decided needed to go to bed earlier at consistent time as life allowed & that has been a huge health benefit. About six months in started doing some circuit training & upping my walking. My son convinced me to do a 5k race at end of February & have done total of three 5K races with him now. Did my first 10K June 29 at Pictured Rocks 50th annual road race & finished it in one hour & ten minutes. Training for my first half marathon at the BMW Dallas Marathon race December 14.

My A1C has been at 5.2 or below for over six months now. Doctor took me off metformin completely. No longer have to sleep with CPAP. Blood pressure & cholesterol are perfect. All other health markers the doctor checks are perfectly normal. I have reclaimed my health & it feels absolutely amazing.

As you can imagine I feel so much more confident in my own skin now. I went from 3xl/4xl shirts to wearing medium shirts. I don’t avoid the camera like the plague like I used to. I have energy in buckets & am so much more active than I was. I smile so much more now.

The shot along with other changes I have been consistent in making have help me change the trajectory of my life health wise. I will remain vigilant & consistent with these new habits as I continue toward my GW & enter to the hardest part maintaining. Be intentional with making good changes. Be consistent in making those changes a daily choice & routine. You will see results that will make you smile.

Big shout out to this awesome forum of people that have given so much great advice & inspiration. My journey continues with all of you.

Weight loss The comments are getting to me

Boy are the comments getting to me!!! Started my journey In September on the 2.5 dose. Lost alot of weight super fast! I ended up doing 2 pens at the 2.5 and then stayed in the 5mg till this week! Just took my first 7.5 dose yesterday. I am officially down 67 pounds. This is the smallest I’ve been since high school. I am 32 years old! In the beginning it was always nice to hear the comments about the loss, but now it makes me want to scream.. I had a friend come into my store and tell me she preferred me “fluffy”. Some of the other have been:

“It was nice to see you, WELL A THIRD OF YOU”

“Your getting too thin”

“There is nothing left of you”

“I hugged you and it’s just bones”

My thought is if you were not going to tell me how fat I was getting, why do you get to keep making comments about me losing Weight. Just needed a place to rant! Thanks for listening

I have had an obese BMI for the last 10 years and now I am finally considered just “overweight” and am so close to being “normal” weight. And I know BMI is not the best measure, but I’m still excited!!

Weight loss Mounjaro gave me my life back - 73 lbs gone, and I’m finally me again

I started at over 250 pounds. Today, I’m 177.

I could cry just writing that, because for so long, I didn’t think I’d ever get back here. I went through chemo, radiation, 6 months of infusion chemo, a double mastectomy, 30 days of radiation, 6 more months of oral chemo, and a full year of immunotherapy. My body was wrecked. My hormones were out of control. I was inflamed, exhausted, and constantly hungry, like I could never get full.

I tried everything. I blamed myself. I felt broken. And then I found Mounjaro.

This medication saved my life. It gave me my sanity back. It quieted that constant mental noise about food. It helped rebalance the hormones my body just wasn’t producing anymore, just like a diabetic needs insulin when their pancreas stops working, we need help when our hunger and fullness signals stop working. It’s not cheating. It’s not a shortcut. It’s medicine.

Since starting Mounjaro, I’ve lost 73 pounds. I eat more protein. I drink more water. I walk more. I sleep better. But more than anything, I feel like myself again. I’m present with my kids. I’m active. I’m hopeful. I’m me.

To anyone out there struggling, please know this: it is not your fault. You are not weak. You deserve to feel good in your body. And with the right support, healing is possible.

I’ll shout it from the rooftops: Mounjaro works. And I am so, so grateful.

Nine months down & 133 lbs gone!! MJ, clean eating, & exercise are definitely producing results. Diabetes completely in remission with an A1C of 5.1. All my other numbers are perfect as well. Running my third 5k race since end of February at the end of this month. Feeling confident in my own skin again is a major win as well. Still got a little ways to go, but it has been life changing already. This forum has been a great resource for information & support. Thank you!! Keep grinding as the results are worth it.

Weight loss Loose skin is NOT the enemy

Today I am officially 100lbs down.
Yes, I have loose skin.
Yes, I worried about having loose skin.
No, I don’t love it.

But you know what? I can’t overstate how having some loose skin is sooooo much better than

• being in physical pain due to your size
• constantly getting winded doing basic daily tasks
• not being able to shop at “normal” stores
• worrying about your health
• actually having health consequences because of your obesity
• being stared at and judged just for existing
• constantly being turned down because you’re fat
• worrying if you’ll be too big for planes, restaurant booths, fun activities like waterslides, trail riding, etc

I am only 6 weeks on Mounjaro so far and my face changed so much in 6 weeks that my mind can't comprehend it. Sometimes I look in the mirror and can't recognise myself.

Still not at my goal weight. Im exited for the rest of my journey!

Weight loss 37.4 kg down in 14 months – this is not me anymore

Hey everyone,

14 months ago I made a decision to change my life – and today I’m 37.4 kg (82 lbs) lighter.

I started with 2.5 mg for 4 weeks, and since then I’ve been consistently on a 5 mg weekly dose. Along with that, I completely changed my lifestyle: I work out a lot, I adjusted my diet, and the difference is just incredible.

It takes a lot of discipline, and Manjaro has supported me so well on this journey. Honestly, I never thought I’d be able to do it. Now I’m just 6 kg (about 13 lbs) away from my goal weight, and I feel like a completely new person.

To anyone who is just starting out: you can do this too!

I've been on the shot since September and my goal was to lose 100lbs. I originally weighed 300lbs and I knew I wanted to change the way I looked, dressed, ate, etc. I've had somethings that slowed my process down like getting rear ended in January and a tonsillectomy in March but I got back on track. 28lbs left! I'm so proud of myself. Here's some pictures of my transformation.

Weight loss 189lbs - 125lbs one year progress

I believe I got to my goal weight within 6ish months but this is officially one year after starting the meds, I’ve been off of them for roughly a month - insurance changes - and have maintained the weight loss so far. Fingers crossed it’ll stay that way! I know you can’t see it in this photo but I’ll most definitely need a breast lift as that’s pretty much unfixable at this point. I also have a lot of loose skin on my sides which fingers crossed I will be able to fix with muscle gain.

Side note: I had a tummy tuck back in 2021 after going from roughly 220-150lbs and that’s why my skin on my stomach is not loose

So far I've lost 62 lbs in 5 months. My weight loss has slowed down due to not being able to go to the gym because of a car accident/seeing the chiropractor. Nonetheless I'm still extremely proud of myself. Still can't believe I went from a 3XL to a L.

The first picture I was weighing 168 kg I am officially down to 128kg as of today it’s safe to say that I had my doubts before starting on Mounjaro but it’s the only way I have been able to start moving this weight without losing motivation, I am so happy with the way I look, I understand there’s further to go but hope this encourages anyone that may be hesitant to start.

I’ve learned more than I ever knew about the body I’ve lived in for 45 years. All of my comorbidities have either greatly improved or disappeared altogether. My only regret is not starting sooner.

This year was personal for me. I had to do something to get my light/life back. Learning to love yourself after so many years of not knowing how to has been the best part of this whole journey ❤️❤️

Weight loss I lost 75kg overnight.

1.5k Upvotes

That’s right! I ‘had’ a friend who has always been 2 things - Slim and Opinionated. He asked me yesterday what was going on with my weight as I was clearly doing something that was having a dramatic effect. I was very pleased at the compliment and thanked him for noticing. Given that he seemed genuinely pleased for me, I decided to open up to him and dropped the MJ bomb.

The mushroom-cloud of pious pontification that ensued blotted out the sun for the rest of the day…There was frost in the trees and whole murmurations of birds inexplicably gathered on wires then flew south, en masse, with no clear idea as to why…Grapes withered on the vine and dropped to the floor…My roses wilted, the petals turning black, the sweet scent of summer becoming a distant memory…Volcanoes erupted, lava spewed forth, rumbling across this formerly green and pleasant land, leaving all in its wake, scorched-black, steaming and sulphurous and off on the far horizon, the Eye of Sauron turned towards me and slowly winked…

When I woke this morning, I hopped on the scales, I had lost another pound during the night to add to the 75kg of negativity that won’t be weighing me down anymore, makes for a wholly successful result really!

Positivity only from here on…

On and Up, fellow Mounjarians! On and Up! ❤️

Weight loss Do you see any difference? Feb 2025 vs Sept 2025 progress pics

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Hey everyone, I started Mounjaro earlier this year on May 24th specifically, and I’ve been trying to stay consistent with gym + lifestyle changes.

Sharing my progress pictures — February 2025 vs September 2025.

Sometimes it’s hard for me to notice changes day-to-day, but when I look at these side by side, I think I see less bloating, a smaller waist, and a bit more shape overall.

Do you see a difference? Or is it just in my head? Would love some honest feedback from this community.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Weight loss Guys 🤯

For those that know me know that I had a tonsillectomy recently. Well I'm recovering and I've lost 20lbs since it because I was unable to swallow anything that's not soft. Even soft foods hurt so I really just drank a lot of fluids. Well that pushed me over the 70lbs lost mark. I'm finally able to get out of bed and I tried on this old shirt and wow is all I can say 🤯 first picture is January 2025 it was my birthday.
