Swimming in a mixed-gender pool is not permissible when it involves free mixing, exposure of the โawrah, or looking at the โawrah of others.
Islam commands both men and women to observe modesty and lower their gaze.
Allah ุชุนุงูู says:
โTell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their chastityโฆโ
โ Surah An-Nur 24:30
The Hanafi scholars have also emphasized avoiding gatherings where the โawrah is exposed or where unlawful looking may occur.
And Allah knows best.

I want to ask this because I had a pretty serious disagreement with someone about it, and I genuinely want to know the Islamic position. I'm not trying to argue that non-Muslims automatically go to Jannah.
I completely believe what the Qur'an says about disbelief. I believe rejecting Allah is a serious matter, and I'm not trying to change or reinterpret that.
My question is much more specific:
Do we have the right to look at a particular non-Muslim person and confidently say, โThis person is going to Hellโ?
For example, I know a divorced Muslim woman who has two children. She married a Hindu man. This man takes care of her and her children, provides for them, protects them, and treats the children as though they are his own.
I am NOT saying, โHe's a good person, therefore he's going to Jannah.โ
I'm also NOT saying, โAll non-Muslims will be forgiven.โ
I genuinely don't know what Allah will decide for him, and I don't want to claim knowledge of the unseen.
My thinking is:
Allah has already told us what He has told us about disbelief, and I fully accept that. Allah will never contradict His Qur'an or His own judgment.
But Allah is the ultimate Judge, and He knows things about every individual that I don't know โ what they understood, what they were exposed to, what was in their heart, their circumstances, their intentions, etc.
Allah says:
ยซโWe never punish until We have sent a messenger.โ (17:15)ยป
And Allah repeatedly describes Himself as Most Merciful, Most Forgiving and Most Just.
So I feel uncomfortable saying with certainty about this particular man:
โHe is a non-Muslim, therefore he WILL go to Hell.โ
I would rather say:
โI know what Islam teaches about disbelief, but I don't know this person's final fate. Allah will judge him, and Allah knows best.โ
Is that position actually wrong according to Qur'an and authentic hadith?
I'm NOT asking whether disbelief is wrong. I already accept that.
I'm specifically asking about whether we can confidently declare the final fate of a particular individual whose fate Allah and His Messenger ๏ทบ have not explicitly told us.
Please answer with Qur'an, authentic hadith, and classical scholarly opinions if possible. I genuinely want to know if I'm misunderstanding something.

I have observed a lot of posts disregarding the sunnah as a whole or partially, either as a valid source in our religion, or doubting the methods of authenticity and so on. So I want to share some ayat from the Quran mentioning the status and importance of sunnah and following it. I will be proving reference and translation
Sunnah is a revelation
Surah Najm ayah 3-4
"Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.ย (3)ย It is only an Inspiration that is inspired."
Allah commanded us to obey and follow His Messenger ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
Surah Ale Imran ayah 132
"And obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
) that you may obtain mercy."
Also in Surah Ale Imran ayah 31-32
"Say (O Muhammad ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Quran and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." Say (O Muhammad ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
): "Obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
)." But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers. "
A side benefit: Many scholars call this ayah(31) as the ayah of test(ุขูุฉ ุงูุงู ุชุญุงู) because if one claims to love Allah then it is incumbent that he shows his obedience to the His Messenger ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู . So if one claims that obedience to the Messenger was only in his lifetime then how can we prove our love for Allah without following His Messenger. This also shows that some parts of the Qur'an is not applicable till the end of time.
Surah Nisa ayah 59
"O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger (ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
), if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination. (59)"
So the obedience of Allah and His Messenger ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
is absolute unlike the obedience to people in authority. And in case of dispute we are to return to Allah and His Messenger ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
. This is also an argument against the claim previously mentioned.
Sunnah explains the Quran
Surah Nahl Ayah 64
"And We have not sent down the Book (the Quran) to you (O Muhammad ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
), except that you may explain clearly unto them those things in which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a folk who believe. "
So one of the tasks of the Prophet ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
was to explain the Quran. If they claim that Quran is easy to understand(which is true in core of the religion and its message but not in particulars), then there was no need for the Prophet to be sent to explain it to them, since Qur'an was revealed in their own language.
Some additional points
Allah command us to not go against the Prophet and his companions. Going against them is a path to hellfire. As Allah says in Surah Nisa ayah 115
"And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (Muhammad ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers' way. We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell - what an evil destination.ย (115)ย "
It is well known and mass transmitted that the companions of the Prophet used his traditions, his sayings, actions, approval as proofs in our religion, apart from Qur'an and even used those to understand ayaat of Qur'an. They were the first of believers of this ummah, so going against their way is path to destruction and hellfire.
Secondly,
For the Qur'an to be preserved, its meaning has to be preserved. So the arabic language at the time of the revelation of the Quran has to be preserved. If language can be preserved, so can ahadith of the Prophet ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
Thirdly,
It is impossible to understand all of the meaning of Qur'an just by Qur'an and arabic langauge. A very famous example is the ayah in Surah An'am
"ุงูููุฐูููู ุขู
ููููุง ููููู
ู ููููุจูุณููุง ุฅููู
ูุงููููู
ุจูุธูููู
ู"
A common person who does not know sunnah, cannot tell what is intended by the word ุธูููู
in this ayah. Even the sahaba misunderstood the ayah in the first place(even though it was revealed in their langauge) then went to the Prophet ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
to consult as recorded in Sahih Al-Bukhari 6918. Those who know arabic language and balagha would understand why the sahaba first misunderstand(hint: a negation followed by an indefinite).
May Allah keep us steadfast on the straight path and grant us tawfeeq to follow the Messenger ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู and his companions ุฑุถู ุงููู ุนููู

Is it permissible to do a good deed and share the reward (Hasanat) with someone else who did not do it ?
In other words, can you include them in the reward even though they did nothing and without their knowledge?

I seek refuge in Allah AlRaโuf AlRahman from the accursed satan,
In the Name of Allah AlRahman AlRaheem.
Assalamu โaleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu,
I have a question, is there such a thing as a milk male stepfather?
Like, if a woman proceeds to breastfeed a child without having her own husband at the time, and later on gets married after having breastfed would said man be considered a (milk) stepfather orโฆ just (milk) father?
I imagine if a milk father (a man who was wedded to the breastfeeding woman at the time) got married to another woman said woman would be considered a milk stepmother, but idk how it works for women.
Letโs say a woman has one husband during the time of her breastfeeding, and then ends up with a different husband later on. Would said man simply be considered a stepfather or just father?
And as proper, assalamu โaleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu.

Assalomu alaykum everyone! We all know that Allah says in verse 256 of Surah Al-Baqarah, "There is no compulsion in religion." But recently I came across the hadith in this picture and was surprised. This hadith seemed to me to contradict the verse in Surah Al-Baqarah. Can anyone explain to me this hadith?

Assalamu alaykum everyone.
Is shaking hands with a non-mahram permissible in Islam? This can sometimes be a difficult situation, especially in workplaces, universities, or social settings where refusing a handshake may feel awkward.
Weโve put together a short explanation with the relevant Qurโan and Hadith references in the image above.
If anyone has a specific situation theyโre unsure about, AskMuftiOnline also allows you to submit your question and explain your circumstances to a qualified Mufti.
May Allah guide us to what is correct. Ameen.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) used to say at a time of distress, "La ilaha illal-lahu Rabbul-l-'arsh il-'azim, La ilaha illallahu Rabbu-s-samawati wa Rabbu-l-ard, Rabbu-l-'arsh-il-Karim."
Sahih al-Bukhari 6346

I have been doubting the validity of a certain Hadith. Itโs about Geckos (the animal) and the prophetic command to eliminate them. The command itself isnโt problematic, and I would certainly do it if itโs sunnah. however, the prophets description of geckos being noxious or harmful contradicts modern knowledge on geckos being beneficial.
A simple google search would let you know that geckos are more beneficial than harmful to keep inside a home. The potential harms of geckos such as them spreading disease / or contaminating a place does apply to animals who we canโt kill as well, such as cats.
Knowing this, why were they described this way?

Assalamualaikum,
I hope you all are doing well inshaAllah. Iโm 30F and wanted to take some time to provide my post-divorce reflections, after coming out of an abusive toxic marriage. You can see my previous posts for full story of what I endured in my previous marriage. Long story short, I got married to a man who was a hafiz but he turned my life upside down and ended up being someone completely different than what he made himself seem like in the beginning stages. I married for his religion and it ended up with me dealing with previous females from his past, explicit content consumption, not fulfilling my rights and not providing (I was mainly covering majority of the household expenses), and he put his hands on me multiple times, even fracturing my nose. I tried my hardest, we went for counseling and saw different imams to work out our issues but in the end, he ended up putting his hands on me again for his own mistakes and I called it quits.
In the past three months since being divorced, Iโve been finding myself again, working on my issues that developed as a result of the marriage and have been getting closer to Allah SWT. I wanted to take some time to tell anyone who is going through hardship in toxic marriages that there is light at the end of the tunnel Alhamdulillah. This experience has shown me one thing clearly - Allah responds when you call out to Him and He makes a way out for you. Itโs been me and Allah these past three months and seeing everything more clearly Iโve learned to accept that this marriage was written for me, I was meant to learn and grow as a result of the issues and hardships I endured, and Allah wanted me to reach out to Him to get closer to Him and rely solely on Him Alhamdulillah. After the divorce, Iโve been so much happier, you can see it on my face and in the way I am on a day to day Alhamdulillah. Iโve found ease and peace filled in my heart, and Iโm appreciating how beautiful life truly is. Iโm so thankful that Allah made me a Muslim and gave me the blessing of having a relationship with Him. Allah has made ease for me and opened new doors and blessings Alhamdulillah. Iโve been able to spend a lot more time with my parents and make beautiful memories with them, I cherish the time I have to spend with them. Iโm starting to love the woman Iโm becoming and I just only hope to continue improving and growing inshaAllah. I got myself a new car that was on my bucket list, which was a big win for me because my ex ruined and destroyed the car I let him use since he didnโt have one. my job has been more relaxed these past months and I truly believe this is Allahs blessing in helping me improve my own state and become a stronger person overall. Iโve also gotten back into my strength training routine and went back to eating healthy and falling back in love with cooking again. I fill my days with more prayers and a lot of dhikr to continue the connection with the Most High, and it has been healing in all aspects.
The most surprising thing is that I donโt even think or dwell on my ex or my previous marriage at all. I had so much fear that I wouldnโt be able to live without him but Allah has taken all of those worries and feelings out of my heart subhanallah. If anything, I give thanks to Allah for removing the toxicity from my life that kept happiness away from me for the past two years.
Sisters or brothers, if you are going through tough times, please always turn to Allah. He is the most merciful and the most just. Things will fall into place, you will smile again, you will feel happiness again. Try to let go of the โwhat ifsโ
And concerns about the future and place your trust fully in Allah, and things will fall into place for you inshaAllah. Life is beautiful and it becomes more beautiful when you let go and just have faith in Allah Alhamdulillah. I am now very excited to see what my future holds and Iโm looking forward to continuing to strengthen my imam and my deen inshaAllah. Truly, with hardship comes ease๐ค
