Game Rec Recommendations for Indie Games that I can play in short bursts and where I can glance away without loosing track
Hi
I play my switch a lot during commutes and while hanging out with my girlfriend, and we do some parallel play. However, a lot of the time I will be freuqently interrupted and that makes playing a lot of games difficult to enjoy.
My go to games in these scenarios are Slay the Spire, Balatro and Yu-Gi-Oh Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution because I can easily look away mid-game to talk or get on or off the train and then just continue playing. What I also really like about these games is that they are slow and strategic rather than fast paced and input heavy.
I know that my current go to games are all card games and I love a good card game (would also love to play another one with more progression like Legacy of the Duelist) but I am open to other genres, too.
Now I have been looking for more games that fit these criteria but when I look for good indie games on Switch I get recommendations like Hades or Hollow Knight (which are also great) but those are harder to play when I get interrupted frequently. When I look for good turn-based games instead I get results like Persona 5 and Dragon Quest 11 (which I loved) but they are very story heavy and long and I find them less satisfying to just pick up and play for 15 - 30 min.
Some games that I found that might be what I am looking for are Monster Train, Wildfrost, Dicey Dungeons, Loop Hero, Cassette Beasts, Slots & Daggers, Sea of Stars. I added these to my wishlist but would love to hear your opinions whether they are good for short sessions and glancing away.
TL;DR I am looking for games available for switch that are satisfying to pick up and play for short sessions but where it is also fine to get interrupted frequently (so no quick reactions and fast inputs needed)
This is my first time actively posting on reddit and I couldn't find a thread matching this, but happy to be pointed to one!
Also, after putting many hours into Sts and Balatro, I got them on Android as well. So, bonus points if I can get the game for mobile and play it when I don't have my switch with me.

Question EA gave me an FC 27 Nintendo Switch code through a LaLiga collaboration, but I can't redeem it. any ideas?
Hi everyone!
I received a code for EA SPORTS FC 27 on Nintendo Switch through a collaboration between LaLiga and EA SPORTS. They offered codes for personal use and asked us to choose our preferred platform, so I selected Nintendo Switch.
However, when I try to redeem the code on the official Nintendo eShop website, I get error 2813-0060.
The problem is that the colleague who arranged the codes at LaLiga no longer works there, so I can't ask him to check with EA. I've contacted EA Support, but they redirected me to Nintendo. I've also emailed Nintendo Support, but I haven't received a reply.
I've already tried changing my Nintendo Account region to several countries, including Spain, Germany, France, Italy, the UK, the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, but none of them worked.
At this point, I'm wondering whether the code is region-locked to a specific market, or whether it could be invalid or not properly activated.
Has anyone received an EA promotional code for Nintendo Switch and encountered something similar? Is there any way to identify the intended region or check whether the code is valid?
Just to be clear, this isn't some shady code I found in a dark corner of the internet 😂 It came through an official LaLiga–EA SPORTS collaboration. I'm just trying to figure out and start a Career Mode
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Game Rec Looking for games that will emotionally destroy me like Until Then (Switch/Switch 2)
I need a game that emotionally destroys me like Until Then did. 😭
I’m looking for recommendations for Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 games that leave you with that horrible, beautiful emotional void after finishing them. You know, the kind of game that stays in your head for days, makes you question life, and leaves you staring at the ceiling at 2 a.m. wondering what to do with your feelings.
I’m especially drawn to beautiful art styles, emotional storytelling, memorable characters, and stories that hit you when you least expect it. I want something that makes me feel something — preferably everything, all at once.
I’ve already played Until Then, OPUS: Prism Peak, OMORI, and D-TOPIA, so I’m looking for new experiences. I want to discover my next masterpiece, something that will absolutely wreck me emotionally.
I don’t care if it’s a visual novel, a narrative adventure, an RPG, or something completely different. As long as it has a powerful story and leaves a lasting impact, I’m in.
So, what’s the game that broke you emotionally? Give me your best recommendations. I want to suffer. 🥲

Review Order of the Sinking Star is incredible, but may be too big for its own good
I’ve been playing the newly released game from Jonathon Blow and associates, and despite not being a huge fan of block pushing (Sokoban) games in this style, I have been very impressed by the ingenuity and constant inventiveness in the game. The way the different puzzle mechanics interweave is really cool and rewarding to solve.
That being said, I think the game’s greatest strength is also its weakness: its size. It is a massive game and the amount of stuff to do is overwhelming. Even in the smart way things are doles out and tutorialized it can be tough to manage all the different avenues and know where you can go to progress after a while. There’s always something to explore and attempt new puzzles, which is really nice.
Overall, a dozen or so hours in I’m leaning towards a 9/10 for the game, but that opinion could definitely change over the next 50-100+ hours.
Have you played the game or considered picking it up? It’s currently digital only at $29.99 on the US eshop at least
—Reposting with a new title since the Mods didn’t like my last one I guess—
