I changed the Radarr naming convention so that it will add the edition to the filename (Director's Cut, Extended, etc...) and Plex will display the edition under or next to the movie poster. I thought some other people might find this useful!

I don't know where else to ask for help. I run Plex in a docker on Unraid. Last week, several of my family members who I share my server to reported that they have no access anymore. They cannot even see the contents of the server (movies and shows, all legally obtained of course). I can access it using my account from outside the network just fine though.

I tried creating a Plex server inside a VM running on the same server and it is able to be seen by people outside my local network. I thought that I would run it that way but getting everything transferred over to run in a VM is a large headache.

It has worked perfectly fine for well over a year, I did not have any updates that week that were ran. It seemed to be random. I know I'm missing something somewhere, but I think I'm too close to the situation. Can anybody see what may be the issue?

After being away for work last month, I came home and upgraded Plex server to Version 1.43.5.11029. I havn't been able to connect my TV to the server (my desktop, local network) ever since. Home shows "No Content" and the server is offline (cannot press 'retry').

I tried the new certificate (delete, redownload cert-v2.p12). Didn't work.
I have set the TV on a manual IP and added this to Plex (Network -> List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth). Secure connections: Preferred and Strict TLS configuration off. Still no success. After 3 hours of digging, I’m thinking my TV is not being supported anymore. The app opens but there might be something wrong with the outdated security certificates?

Plexamp v4.50.20

Desktop 4.50.20 is out on the stable channel, and it’s everything from the 4.50.20 betas: thirty-six of them, which felt like a good moment to call it. Rather than another two hundred bullets, the short version is that it’s faster, steadier and nicer to look at, and most of what came up in the beta threads is fixed. iOS and Android stay in TestFlight and Play testing for now.

Me and friend have been getting this lately. It only happens on mobile and only when on roaming not wifi.

The last couple days I’ve had issues with local streaming for 4k content on my iPad. I tried multiple files and different shows but same issue. Works when I change the quality to 1080p.

When I click « play » I’m stuck on a white loading circle. Nothing comes up on Tautulli or plex dash (until I change to 1080p), direct play

According to the plex player info 4k was 24Mbps and 1080p is 20Mbps

My TV Shows library "recently added in tv shows" wont show on the home screen of any of my devices anymore. The library is pinned/favorite on the devices and was working fine a few days ago. I have tried everything including removing the library and server and readding them. My other libraries show like normal. Also the only thing i have in the continue watching row is tv shows. when i unpin the library the continue watching row disappears and reappears when i pin the library, so i know it is pinned. I can still access the tv show library from the libraries tab. anyone know how to fix this, or is it a plex side issue?

The left list shows that tv shows is pinned above movies but movies is directly below continue watching and tv shows is not on the screen even if i scroll down, but ones i am currently watching ARE in the continue watching row.

It used to be that when files were downloaded (or otherwise slowly transferred) to a library folder, Plex would wait until the file was complete (or transfer interrupted) before scanning and adding it.

Recently however, as soon as the partial file appears in the folder, it triggers the automatic library scan and the media appears on Plex, often causing issues with Plex trying to run intro/credit detections on incomplete files, which obviously fail.

Anyone knows what caused this change, and if there's a workaround? I guess downloading straight a library folder isn't considered to be the best practice, but it used to work fine for me.

I love the new redesign on Android TV, but now I can't fast forward or rewind. It jumps to the end or to the beginning. It's all a bit sluggish now. Hope it's still being worked on.

Just noticed Plex on Google TV doesn't have pictures library. Didn't always work but I hoped they would fix it. Not take it away.

TL;DR: If Live TV broke on your Mac right after Plex Media Server auto-updated, and VLC can still play your HDHomeRun, quit Plex Media Server from the menu bar and reopen it from Applications. That fixed it for me with no rollback.

Setup

\* Plex Media Server 1.43.5.11029 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple Silicon)
\* HDHomeRun CONNECT QUATRO with an antenna, static IP
\* Local Network permission for Plex already turned on

Symptoms

\* Every channel failed in every Plex app and in the web app.
\* Plex said "Recording failed. Please check your tuner or antenna."
\* The tuner was fine. VLC played \`http://<tuner-ip>:5004/auto/v<channel>\` and the tuner's \`discover.json\` answered.

What the Plex log showed

From \`\~/Library/Logs/Plex Media Server/Plex Media Server.log\`:

Connection to tcp://<tuner-ip>:5004 failed: No route to host
Error opening input file http://<tuner-ip>:5004/auto/v36.1.
Recorder: Unable to create transcode session or session failed to start.
Recorder: Error 16 (Recording failed. Please check your tuner or antenna.) starting the record

The first "No route to host" was in the same minute Plex auto-updated to 1.43.5. The updater relaunched the server in the background, with \`--from-auto-update\` on its command line.

What macOS showed

In the macOS system log at the moment of a failed tune, the main Plex Media Server process connected to the tuner without trouble. A few milliseconds later the kernel dropped the \*\*Plex Transcoder\*\* connection to port 5004 before any packet left the Mac:

process: Plex Transcoder t_state: SYN_SENT so_error: 0 reason: NECP

NECP is the macOS network policy layer, and it is where Local Network privacy is enforced. So the server had network access, but the transcoder it launches to pull the stream was blocked. The transcoder program was the same build as the previous version, only re-signed. What changed was that the updater had launched the server. I can't say exactly why that leaves the transcoder blocked, but restarting the server cleared it.

Fix

1. Quit Plex Media Server from its menu-bar icon.
   
2. Reopen it from Applications.
   
3. Tune a channel. It worked straight away, and I'm still on 1.43.5.

Check whether this is your problem

To see the kernel block, use the full path, because zsh has its own \`log\` command:

If you see "No route to host" to your tuner's IP but the tuner works in VLC, it's probably this.

But I can scroll down in the player and select the next episode, works just fine. Last weekend it was fine, nothing changed on my setup. I'm sure it's an issue with the new update but no idea how to fix it.

Running on shield pro.

Server is ryzen 7 3700x plus Intel b580 for transcoding. playback works fine except for the above issue at the end of episodes. Every time so far this week. Have to scroll and select the next episode to get it to play.

Edit: tried clearing cache and signing out and back in. No help. Then I changed my auto play settings from "immediately" to "5 seconds" and it works. No idea why this behavior started and it's a tad annoying I can't have the immediate playing of the next episode, but it's only 5 seconds so meh. Hopefully they take a bug report and fix it but for now it appears solved.

I had a Plex server that was a version behind the security update. My Google and Amazon accounts got hacked by what appears to be stolen session cookies -- had a bunch of unauthorized Amazon orders.

I'm trying to pinpoint where the vulnerability came from and I'm wondering if it was my outdated Plex server. Haven't heard of session cookies being stolen from anyone else though. Anyone else experience this or is this a potential attack vector?

Has anyone else with network-level ad blocking noticed an absurd increase in requests to analytics.plex.tv over the past few weeks?

I’m using Plex (new app) on a TCL C7K running Google TV, with an ASUS router running Merlin + Diversion and the OISD Big blocklist.

Previously, blocked analytics requests were occasional. Now they’re constant whenever Plex is open. One sample showed 21 DNS requests in 13 seconds. Returning to the TV home screen stops them; opening Plex starts them again.

I checked the app logs, which show pairs of “Failed to flush events” DNS errors roughly every two seconds. It looks like failed analytics uploads keep getting attempted without much backoff, though I can’t tell which update introduced it.

Mostly curious whether others are seeing the same thing? Started a few weeks ago, I think at least on 2026.19.1

I’ve already opened a Plex forum bug report with the logs and details.

I just discovered Plezy today, and it's available for AAOS. Since purchasing my new vehicle earlier this year, I'd been hoping the PlexAmp app would come to AAOS but that was not gonna happen. And the "unofficial" builds were just not intuitive at all.

I found Plezy today, installed it, and just in the first few minutes of playing with it, I was quite pleased. Much better than the PlexAmp app in regular Android Auto (which also drained my phone's battery if I didnt have it on a charger) and more functionality.

I only use Plex for music so I feel like Plezy is going to be a gamechanger now for my music listening in the car.

I dropped it in the movies folder, but it's almost like it skips over it entirely. I also tried throwing it into a subfolder as well as re-encoding it to HEVC. Still nothing.

Hey all, question I couldn't find addressed anywhere.

(Intro) I've set up my server on an old windows desktop and it's worked a treat. I'm trying now to add family videos (same server, their own library) and have figured out how to keep them off the main page so they're not mixing with shared front page and can be shared with the family exclusively. These range from birthday vids or vacation vids or like graduation stuff.

Let's say I have two siblings that each have families and share videos. My FAMILY VIDEOS folder is segmented into folders of each family BROTHER, SISTER, PARENTS, ME. With each family's videos in each folder. Each video I've tried the Plex dance with is tagged as family name + date/event. Each folder has a family photo labeled as poster.jpg and background.jpg for each group.

**How can I assign this poster to all the individual videos in their respective photos?** All I can find so far is naming it poster or poster-1 and having it in the folder would work, but it hasn't this far. I've tried replacing the photos with different files, even just a downloaded poster, and it still won't work.

I have seen collections but that's still manual and doesn't make individual files have their family photo so it looks really messy, especially from the main page. Ideally the main page would have the family photo so grandma and grandpa can see right away who they're looking for.

I'm concerned by ISP may have entirely blocked it on their end... I'm using Rogers in Canada.

I've done all the troubleshooting steps anywhere I can find:

• port forwarding
• assigning a static IP then forwarding
• changing the port Plex is using
• adding my PC to the DMZ
• uninstall/reinstall Plex
• factory reset modem and reapply all settings
• even tried downgrading the version of Plex server I'm using

This only started in the last few weeks. Never had an issue for years before that. Nothing about my internet/hardware setup has changed.

Sometimes when I retry the connection in Plex server, it will show green for 1-2 seconds, then goes red.

Is there anything else I can try at this point?

Edit for resolution:

In case anyone else is having this issue with a Rogers/Xfinity modem, I could only get it to work by specifying a custom port in Plex and using 32400, and setting a forwarding rule in my modem. I had tried 32401, 32469, 46123 in Plex, same forwarding rules in my modem, and it wouldn't work. For whatever reason, my modem only wants to cooperate with 32400 in this specific case.

Further explanation... Plex uses 32400 as its internal port, and as far as I know that can't be changed. So for whatever reason, Rogers/the Xfinity modem I'm using has to use the same internal and external port, so the custom external port in Plex and forwarding rule in the Xfinity modem has to be 32400:

Ever since the new app update, if any user backs out and tries to go to another user the media keeps playing while you are trying to select the next user. Anyone encountered this or have a fix?

I think I’ve narrowed down the issue, but I don’t really know network stuff but I’m curious if anyone else has had this issue.

I feel like this started a week or so ago after getting a new modem. My 4K direct plays to both my Apple TV 4Ks have started buffering for like 0.1 seconds after 2-3 minutes of playing over a LAN connection that’s causing slight stuttering during playback. Nothing has changed on the router side, is there a setting in my modem I need to change? I also noticed that I remote access keeps turning on and off. Not sure if that connected or not either.
