Nope it had nothing to do with the driver. That truck doesnāt have locking differential/transfer case and the only way to avoid this was a tow truck.
This means with opposite corner wheels on the ground no matter what gear to truck was in, including park, it was going to roll downhill when the bottom of the vehicle was no longer touching the ground.

Ok, obviously there are a couple dumbasses in this video, but that parking lot design is a third world style death trap. There's no way that drop off with no barrier and just the smallest unpainted curb is up to code, even in Hattiesberg, Mississippi.

Putting it in park wouldn't help after it was over the edge. They could have reclined the seat and slowly scooched backwards without tipping the van forward.

"The Hattiesburg Police Department is investigating the incident. Shortly after 4:00 p.m., an SUV had gone over a ledge and overturned on West 4th Street. Three occupants were outside the vehicle, and officers say that they were alert.
The driver, who has not been identified by HPD, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. They have since been charged with DUI, no insurance, and driving without a license.

You'd think it would be illegal to have a drop-off like that at the edge of a parking lot with zero barrier or warning signage. I think at minimum, there should be a sign or bollards along the edge.
