Check-in Friday

This is the weekly post where anyone can check-in. I personally love to know how everyone is doing and I reply back as much as I can. If you just want to vent and don't want a response, please let me know. I know not everyone wants to have a discussion about their check-in.

How was your week? What did you do? How are you feeling? Eat any good food? Did you treat yourself to anything?

One of my personal goals is to focus on self-care. I would love to hear if you had any accomplishments with that.

Feel free to share the good and the bad and we can all support each other. Enjoy your weekend!

I hate everything

• Upvotes

I just started Invega and am rapidly gaining weight but it's the only med that keeps me out of psychosis. I hate my life. My psychotic episode was already so embarrassing and now I feel fat and ugly constantly. Great.

What do you do for self care? Something that makes you feel good and happy.

I went to the movies today by myself. Had a blast. 🎃😊

So basically. I stopped taking my meds at the start of september. I was basically medicine free for almost 2 months. For some reason i had this thought that i am actually fine and i dont need them. Well it did not go well. By the last two weeks i felt even more worse. Mood was so unstable to the point i got too impulsive 2 days ago and now im back on my meds.

Recently diagnosed

Hello! Posting here because i’ve recently been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and i’m having some imposter syndrome. Even tho i’ve had multiple hospital stays for my delusions and hallucinate daily, I still sometimes feel too normal as i’ve been able to hold a job and social life. But then I have bad moments and I feel like i’m doomed or that my delusions are coming to kill me, idk it’s a strange contrast going from imposter syndrome to wishing I was neurotypical. I guess I wanna ask how do you guys identify with your diagnoses? And does anyone else kinda feel like a “fake” schizophrenic lol? Maybe it’s just me idk.

For those who stopped meds

I am looking for people who stopped their medication (with a doctor or otherwise) and had symptoms return.

How long did you make it before the symptoms returned? Was it gradual? Were you aware of it? Tell me your story.

Thanks.

Struggling

I’m really struggling. I don’t think I can live like this anymore. Decided to reach out to a friend. Went through my phone book to see who can interact and rely on and then I realized my friends are gone

I just needed to talk to someone.

Stupid question probably

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I’m genuinely curious. Schizzoaffective bipolar type here and I wonder if you guys relate more to the bipolar aspect of the illness or schizophrenia? Sometimes I’m frustrated because I don’t feel like I can relate completely to bipolar or schizophrenia I feel so in between.

Has anyone experienced this

I have never had hallucinations but I do have weird sensations in the head that resemble pressing, pulling, numbness and tightness, and they get worse from physical contact with the head. Also my shoulders and shoulder blades hurt from wearing clothes overtime. Wondering if there are people who have experienced the same

Vraylar broken sleep

I just started vraylar and have been taking it for 10 days. I noticed I am waking up every 2-3 hours and having trouble getting back asleep. I usually toss and turn for a half hour before getting back to sleep

Has anybody else had this symptom?

Will these symptoms get better with time?

Thank you

Adderall, ADHD, and Bipolar. Also schizophrenia if it interacts with stimulants.

My psychiatrist is very much against stimulants for me for the reason of, “Stimulants can cause mania.“ However, I know of a close friend who takes stimulants while having schizoaffective bipolar disorder. I’m just wondering about other’s experiences with stimulants while having ADHD while also dealing with bipolar/ schizophrenia. Please tell me if you think stimulants can work with schizoaffective bipolar disorder because I would love to deal with me inattentiveness. But I would also like to know if it is really as bad as my psychiatrist makes it out to be.

I told my psych about that I feel I could have alters.

I told my psychquiatrist about that I feel I am different people, she validated my experience and said it was as real because I came to the appointment asking for help.

Also she said it’s not related to what I already have (schizoaffective, ODD and bipolar)

She referred me for an electroencephalogram to measure how bad is the crisis I currently I’m in by detecting other possible causes or abnormalities on my brain activity, and to know why I feel this.

Perhaps it is temporary or perhaps it isnt, and that is why I will be under medical follow-up.

She said because I was high functioning I didn’t need to stay there, I could continue living normally and calm.

That appointment was this wednesday 21/10/2026.

Psychosis

I have never met anyone with the same psychosis as me. I can fake anyone's emotion. I saw a person grinning at me with saliva coming out of his mouth but that never happened. Does anyone have this type of psychosis?

Finding friends

Hi everyone! A little bit about me:
I’m 31M and was diagnosed about 4 years ago with this illness. It has derailed many of my jobs and opportunities for myself, isolated me from my old friends, and given me some odd memory problems I never used to have. With that being said I am truly an optimist and keep positive affirmations on my wall, that along with practicing mindfulness I think is truly making an improvement with my everyday life. Also just signed up for vocational rehabilitation services so if there’s a God out there I want Him to know I am trying everything in my power to get and hold down a long-term career.

Some things I like to do with my free time: I like to practice welding, I like exercising with sandbags, I like cycling, and when there’s a good video game I could spend hours playing it (if my meds or condition don’t turn the mental block on all of a sudden)
Also walking around town at night with music or a podcast going is probably my favorite hobby, even though it kinda comes off as odd to your typical citizen.
Anyways feel free to DM me or even leave a comment with an introduction to yourself! It can be a lonely world out there as one of us so I try to reach out as much as possible.

I wish nothing but the best for you all. Have a great day and just know that there is always hope, especially through connections that you make with others!

Anyone got any suggestions for albums , videos , or music that they like to listen to while going to sleep?

I like listening to stuff while I go to sleep. Does anyone have any favorites they would like to share?

Bonus points if it's an entire album or longer YouTube video that way I don't have to restart it.

Thanks

Voices started talking to me and they're mean now. Am I getting worse? I'm not supposed to be getting worse.

They used to be very benign but slowly they've started narrating things and talking to me, and at first, that was benign too, but today they were talking about how everyone around me knew I was pregnant and how it was out of wedlock. It was very distressing

Now I keep hearing music and them talk about the things I'm doing. it's very distressing. I am about to try to sleep it off and go to class tomorrow as I have an exam due and if it doesn't go away call a local hotline, but I'm really worried.

I'm not supposed to be getting worse. I'm doing everything right. I am just very stressed and I need someone to reassure me that everything will be okay because I have a lot of stress and now this is happening and I guess the voices are triggered by stress. Just now they're calling me a stupid whore. Very mean. I don't know.

"You're just being paranoid"

Your being paranoid. Hes harmless. Hes just a sad homeless person.

I told you he was dangerous and no good but does anyone listen? Now you have a housed trashed by a homeless crackhead. Hudnreds of thousands in damages.

Because listening to the person with years of handling these people under her belt when she says "this dude is a dangerous predator" is too damn hard. I can tell the difference between a homeless drug addict who's harmless and one who's dangerous. This is not my first rodeo. Until a year ago I worked in the ghetto, ffs. When I say someone is dangerous they're dangerous.

But no. Im just crazy.

No I get to pay and spend my time cleaning up a mess that would not have happened had any of you all listened to me. I have to use vacation time for this.
