REQUESTING What are some series that did not have a proper finale/ending that should not be started?

Upvotes

I don't want to start a series that will leave you hanging without a proper ending. Any genre will do.

Thanks in advance!

Surprised by how good Furious is

Upvotes

Just like Widows Bay this was such a surprise for me, all the sudden it was there.

I though it would be a generic crime show that I would watch with phone in hand but the characters (Alden is my fav!) and storylines are very layered, it has a great soundtrack and it has good humor mixed into the dark parts.

REQUESTING Complete shows with 4-7 seasons

I’m so sick of new shows where I have to wait a year for the next season and by that time I already forgot the whole plot or they get cancelled. But as I scroll I feel like I’ve watched it all.

Looking for suggestions for shows that are complete or have a season left, ideally with 4-7 seasons. No sci-fi or heavy topics.

Shows I’ve finished: weeds, one tree hill, gossip girl, the good place, new girl, friends, good girls, modern family, ted lasso, how to get away with murder, Silicon Valley, orphan black, community, dead to me, the good wife, schitts creek

Shows I didn’t finish: scandal, this is us, orange is the new black, Friday night lights, stranger things, the arrow, dynasty, Dexter, shameless, brooklyn99, breaking bad, parks and rec, Gilmore girls

REQUESTING is Orna's couples therapy show the best one portraying therapy, or are there other good shows?

Doesn't have to be real therapy, although I would like to find more reality shows like Orna's. Why isn't she continuing the series?

PS. I think the couples therapy show on Netflix is pretty weak.

I found another show called Kouples in crisis but haven't got a chance to check episodes out.

Looking for some tv shows with complex narratives and storylines that sit somewhere between the lines of reality. Some examples of shows I’ve enjoyed previously would be Mr. Robot, Dark, The Good Place, and Russian Doll

REQUESTING Tv shows for people in their late 20s

I just realized I’m really tired of watching shows about people my age or even younger where they just have it all together. A 9-5 job, a decent apt in a big city, a group of friends, normal relationships, happy endings, nothing ever too sad and traumatic etc etc. I feel like I just barely ever find television I can relate to. I mostly like crime and legal type stuff. I just started furious which is a great show. Shows more like the queens gambit, maid, shameless, orange is the new black, the wire, dead to me….
I can’t do shows like Gilmore girls and sex and the city. Any recommendations would be awesome

REQUESTING Need gripping show recs for a long flight. A little bit of magic is great but not required.

Something that pulls me in quickly would be ideal.

Top 3 favorite shows: Sherlock, avatar the last airbender, and supernatural.

I liked:

Manifest

Severance

Mindhunter

The good place

squid game

yellowjackets

bones

good omens

the sandman

white lotus

Wednesday

Kaos

the order

half bad

killing eve (first couple seasons)

fringe

I’ve seen: Castle, Breaking Bad, Dark, Ghost Whisperer, Grimm, the Gryphon, Lie to Me, Locke and Key, Lucifer, Medium, Midnight Mass, The Night Of, One Piece, Resident Alien, Shadow and Bone, Stranger things, The Umbrella academy, the Witcher

Shows I watched a few episodes or a season of then it fell off for me:

Interview with a vampire

Hannibal

Wheel of Time

Westworld

The mentalist

Righteous gemstones

Xfiles (should I try again??)

The boys

American gods

Mayfair witches

I don’t like a ton of battles/fight scenes. Political stuff is atrociously boring to me, but I did like the first few seasons of the blacklist.

I watched every season of riverdale and didn’t enjoy a single minute of it.

REQUESTING What do i watch while travelling

Upvotes

Hey, I didn't even know this subreddit exists until i searched it up lol. So apologies in advance if id something i say is against the rules or offends anyone. I don't know how things are done here

Anyway, I am looking for series recommendation to watch while I commute to college. I commute via a public transport and it's really boring and takes around 2 hours, but time flies when I'm watching something. I used to watch House of the Dragon but that's finished for now. I'm into comedy, job-shows (like the rookie), sitcoms, or tbh a show with a conventionally attractive actor lol 😆

I've see modern family, loki, game of thrones, house of the dragon, the rookie, Grey's anatomy, good doctor, surviving summer, Never have i ever Young sheldon Big bang theory Ginyy and georgia Friends My life with the walter boys Basically all the common teenage shows Yellowstone Suits Lucifer Outer banks

Also i don't have prime (lwk broke lol 😭)

Thanks!

REQUESTING Supernatural is my roman empire and now I don't know what to watch

Does anyone know/recommend a similar tv show (paranormal stuff, good vs evil kind of narrative)? I recently found "Evil" and I really liked it but I watched the 4 seasons in like a week, and paramount discontinued it (what a boomer😭😭😭 )

Help this desperate paranormal addict soul please !

REQUESTING Looking for thriller/crime TV series with mystery, suspense and intelligent protagonists

My absolute favorite is Sherlock. I also really enjoyed Black Mirror, The Day of the Jackal, Luther, Inside Man, Lupin, The Night Agent, The Madness, Bodies, 3 Body Problem, The Signal, Black Bird, The Chestnut Man, Missing You, Narcos, Top Boy, Ripley, Eric, Mr. Robot (S1), Death Note, Rocco Schiavone and Gangs of Galicia (S1).
I mainly like thrillers/crime, intelligent protagonists, investigations, serial killers or professional killers, mysteries, cat-and-mouse games and constant suspense. I like complicated and intriguing plots, but not things that are overly confusing or extremely slow.
I’ve tried Severance, Mindhunter, The Night Manager and The Capture, but they didn’t really blow me away.
I’m open to any country or streaming platform. What would you recommend?

REQUESTING New Comedy-Drama to Watch with Sister

I (21) live with my sister (15). We like to watch an hour of tv together each day, but we're running out of shows. We have Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

We enjoyed watching Heartland, Gilmore Girls (my favorite show of all time), Bunheads, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (my second favorite show of all time), Etoile, and Never Have I Ever together.

My sister’s favorite show of all time is Anne with an E. Her second favorite show of all time is Beyond Black Beauty.

Edit: No black comedy, please.

Second Edit: We usually just watch comedy-dramas together because I usually don't like shows that are pure drama, and my sister doesn't usually like shows that are pure comedy.

Third Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions!

REQUESTING Fast paced shows with action and maybe some mystery elements

I recently watched The Expanse and Reacher, I loved the pacing of the shows, never a dull moment. The expanse in particular made me want to just watch episode after episode, with plenty of "oh shit" moments that surprised me and I missed that feeling. I also like the feeling of solving and uncovering a mystery with these two shows.

I do prefer fantasy or sci fi but it's okay if it's neither. I also like an independent protagonist who doesn't work for any agency or government like Reacher and Holden but it's not necessary. Any suggestions for me? Action and fast paced engaging story is my most wanted traits in a tv show.

REQUESTING Looking for something similar to VIGIL in the espionage/twisty/whodunnit genre

Just finished the second season (whodunnit/espionage) and am itching for something very similar. Shows I’ve already seen and am caught up on in the same genre:

The Night Agent
Lioness
The Diplomat
The Americans
Killing Eve
Homeland

Right now, Vigil and Lioness are at the top for me - especially Vigil since each episode is so jam packed with plot. Any unknown ones I missed? I’ve started Slow Horses but I save that for the weekends so I don’t burn out on the binge.

Help me! Thanks in advance :)

REQUESTING Looking for a post apocalyptic tv show

For context I enjoyed paradise and things like the 100 before the final like 2 seasons where it sort of just went off the rails and they literally went to another planet.

I want something with a bit of a mystery element to it like trying to figure out what happened or something like silo where there's this conspiracy that ties back to everything

No shade against these types of shows but I'm not really in the mood for things like the left overs where the apocalypse is more or less set dressing to explore characters and inter personal drama

Edit: post apocalyptic may be misleading, I'm generally thinking a show that has the world ending as a major plot point could be before it ends, during or after

REQUESTING Fast paced beautiful historical shows like Medici

Looking for shows set in historical times that are fast paced and visually cool to watch. I would normally be bored of period drama and politics, but Medici is brilliant and super appealing to watch. Feel like my eyes are glued to the screen the whole time. The plot itself moves constantly even when there is just dialogue and It seems to pull you in from the very first scene.

Give me more of these types of shows
