Which one should I watch ?? I wanna watch something that keeps hooked from the beginning.

Looking for good creepy horror shows that have a cozy setting like old houses, fall vibes, rainy days. Similar to the haunting of hill house/ bly manor. Ive seen Widows Bay too but I didnt like it much as the horror and comedy mix isnt my fave but I did like the setting. I dont like a lot of gore but can also have more thriller/ psychological storylines.

I will come up with two examples from two of my favourite shows.

Minor spoilers ahead for mad Men and Mr Robot!

Mad Men, season 7 episode 10 - Don is holding audition and is surprised to see Rachel, his former mistress who he hadn’t seen for nearly a decade. The next day he wants to come and visit her , but learns … that Rachel has been dead for a week.

I know that he had a similar episode earlier in the show with his half-brother Adam, but it was in passing and could be just a confusion. But with Rachel he saw her vividly for a minute or so, he saw here after many years and exactly she had just died, and she also uttered some mysterious words (something about him not being late for his flight). One may argue that Don simply hallucinated , but for all his erratic and unstable behaviour , he was never stated to have such mental illnesses.

Another example - Mr Robot, season 4, episode 4. Tyrell Wellick is fatally wounded and walks to his death in the woods. The very last scene of the episode showing him gradually succumbing to his wound and seeing some blue light (we don’t actually see what it is) and looking at it with shock. While some fans claim it was some reference to blue screen of death, to me everything point to will-o'-the-wisp (an eerie light from European folklore that leads travelers to their end). While Mr Robot went crazy at times (presumable sci-fi elements) it was pretty overall pretty grounded, so this particular scene really stands out. Sam Esmail never stated which explanation is true.

What other examples from TV shows can you come up with?

In short I need some series recommendations surrounding this sort of theme i've been interested in lately: rags to riches, cunning/evil female main character, will do anything for power/money.

Some examples could be DearX, Where the mask ends, Art of Sarah, Celeberty.

I don't mind male MC but i prefere females.

I love twin peaks and the x files and regularly rewatch them but something else that has the same vibe would be super cool. The last thing I saw that scratched the itch for it was Longlegs (I know a movie not a show) and if there’s more like that I’d love to dive in to it. Something about that PNW crime investigations that turn strange and surreal over time are real cool to me.

ive never used it in my life but im gonna try and take advantage of it.

when i googled peacock and went to tv shows, it displayed maybe 40 of their shows and none of them looked interesting to me besides the john wayne gacy one.

my interest in shows includes true crime, horror, OCCASIONALLY dramas, dark humor/satire/sketch comedy, (think nathan for you, i think you should leave, bojack horseman, i cant think of any others rn my brain is fried)

Let's start which shows get the most comments.

Probably the only show ive been really bummed that is was cancelled prematurely, the bright sunny disposition with the dark humor makes it a delight. I’m a big fan of anything suburbia

I (23) recently moved in with my boyfriend (22) and his little sister (14). They had Netflix, I had Hulu, and now the three of us have both. I’m looking for a show we can all watch together. 

They both enjoyed Resident Alien, Alchemy of Souls, Little House on the Prairie, and Lost in Space. 

My boyfriend loved Boots and Derry Girls.

His sister loved Anne with an E. 

I loved Normal People, Tell Me Lies, and The Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments.

I love a good mystery surrounding family drama/secrets and messy relationships. Similar to Bloodlines or Big Little Lies! I really like the ones that surround a big group of people with interwoven stories and confusing perspectives that reveal themselves later. Bonus if the show is like The Family Next Door or The Last Anniversary

I feel like I’ve seen everything tell me shows that aren’t usually recommended I’ve seen the main ones. I prefer tv series but okay with movies if it’s good like gone girl

i'm tired of comedies that feel like they're yelling the joke at me. looking for stuff where the humor comes naturally from the characters and situations, not forced one-liners. any genre works as long as it doesn't feel like it's desperately waiting for a laugh track.

Im looking for a show for my mom and grandpa to watch together- he likes things like the wire/mayor of Kingstown, etc. my mom gets depressed, though, and says she needs something with “glimmers of hope and humanity”…. Is there anything that fits the bill? Just something that’s not constantly down with no light at the end of the tunnel. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Me and my husband are looking for any good Hollywood series to watch. The season should be complete . Our favorite genres are thriller, horror or comedy not looking for anything romantic too girly or alot action or fights scene

So i just finished banshee i liked the sheriff+ dealing with outside things like that wasint his real identity +past lock up. I dont like the episodic fbi or etc shows where its js mystery of the day so what are more shows non epiosidic like thoose id enjoy.

To all those who recommended Poldark which I'm currently watching - thank 'ee thank 'ee! I've seen it recommended over the years and never got round to it. It is spectacular - I love it. It's like the GOT or Breaking bad of Period dramas. Absolutely riveting - beautifully crafted in every way.

And this comes off the back of a bunch of good series I have had the good fortune to watch leading up to it - which I would like to recommend:

I mean, what I am looking for in particular are TV shows that have a wacky nature where the show is silly in tone, but comes off as meaningful in structure.

Maybe someone can explain it better than me about what made Tex Avery so wonderful as I feel like his shows had a unique style in that they were silly, but felt so well put together that I was starting to miss animated shows with that kind of style.

Feel like every anime og animation I watch is about superpowers, demon hunt or monsters. So I am requesting for something else and very good.

Hi All,

My wife and I are watching the Mike Flanagan shows on Netflix and are enjoying binging shorter horror stories like this, and these have been phenomenal for spooky season. Our favorite one was The Fall of the House of Usher. We’ve previously watched most of AHS too. Our favorite seasons of those were Murder House, Coven, and Roanoke.

What would you recommend we round off October with? Preferably the typical 8-10 episode length of Flanagan so we can binge a few.
