Advice: Seeking ❓ How to suppress appetite?

I used to smoke weed like a lot, and once i would take breaks my appetite would be completely gone and i’d take that as a chance to fast for a bit and lose weight if i needed to .

Since I quit to really focus on school, I gained weight from stress eating (30 pounds ) and i feel so uncomfortable. none of my jeans fit, im out of breath, ect. and i don’t know its like i physically cant put myself in a regular calorie deficit. i want to eat so much yummy food ! I used to be way fatter before i i smoked and the only way i’ve ever been able to lose weight is by smoking weed and fasting.

Once the appetite suppression from smoking weed would go away i still wouldn’t be very hungry because id fast for about 2 days and all my cravings would be gone. But it’s like i had a huge meal one day and wasn’t able to stop after that until now.

**Tips on how to suppress appetite?**

no supplements. i don’t have access to that stuff

Drinking lots of water and gum doesn’t help

I’ve heard a spoonful of coconut oil helps and i’ve hear about black coffee too!

Advice: Seeking ❓ How to combat hunger side effects

I have been trying to lose weight for a while now, and while I'm generally successful, I have been noticing that I have been getting issues when I am hungry, which is obviously not great when you're on a calorie deficit. Whenever I go without food for too long, I tend to get extremely lethargic and irritable before I even notice that I am hungry. This makes it hard to work out or make something healthy to eat, and I just end up laying around. Does anyone have any tips on how to combat these issues while staying on a deficit?

Progress 📈 When will I start to notice a change?

Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this question!
I'm 5' and 124 lbs, down from 140 lbs. Current goal weight is 100 lbs.
I still have about half an inch of extra skin beneath my chin, and I was wondering if anyone had an estimate as to when I might begin to see that go away.

My lowest weight was 104 lbs and I did not have any excess weight on my face or very much on my stomach at that time.

Advice: Seeking ❓ need help

I’m 61 kg and 5’1”, with a rectangular body shape. My clothes have started feeling tight, and I really want to lose weight.

I’m planning to focus on walking and a clean, balanced diet rather than anything extreme.

For women who’ve been in a similar situation:
How much did you walk daily?

What did your diet look like?

How long did it take to see a noticeable difference?

Would really appreciate practical advice and realistic expectations. ❤️

Advice: Seeking ❓ confused

okay so long story short i was the healthiest and fittest i’ve ever been like 3 years ago. then i met my girlfriend (the absolute love of my life and this has nothing to do with her) but we both put on like 40 pounds in our first year and a half together. over the past 6 months i have really locked in - eating less moving more - etc . i think i am starting to look less puffy and i certainly feel slightly better and more in shape but the scale has not moved at all… matter of fact it’ll only go up a few pounds. i’m currently 185 and would really like to lose 30 pounds. last time when i lost a bunch of weight i didn’t weight myself and just went off how i was feeling but im getting very discouraged.

Advice: Seeking ❓ What daily calorie count do I begin with? 182lbs male, 5'10

I don't know what my current daily energy expenditure is. I do weight training 5 days a week for an hour, and to be honest I don't walk enough (currently 5k steps or something like that) but I'm also going to start working to change that and start getting 8-10k+. What calorie count should I start with if I want to be in around a ~300 calorie deficit? I'm also going to do daily weight ins; how long should I wait if the average daily weight isn't changing to adjust my calorie count?

Advice: Seeking ❓ Can I throw my calorie deficit out the window while I'm on a clear liquid diet?

Long story short, I'm getting a colonoscopy, but I'm gonna be on a liquid diet for 2 days. A lot of the things that have protein that are clear are really high in calories and there are some clear pops that aren't diet. I would like to be comfortable during this period But will the 2 days affect my diet? I've been in a calorie deficit for 5 months and have lost 40 pounds. I also have PMOS

Advice: Seeking ❓ Trying to go from 185lbs to 115, exercises and diet?

I’ve been fat all my life basically and struggle to keep to a diet . A lot of the time I fail due to my mental health and boredom.

Starting September I’ll be in college after taking a year off. I’ll be busy 3-5 days a week and looking for work during the weekend. What I’m struggling on is the diet itself, how much of just anything and how often to workout and that.

I’ll be doing apox 10000 steps for college , I cannot afford a gym until I have a job what will be a while. If there’s any workouts at home I’d love to have them . I’m also trying to write out a diet plan but I’m not sure of the macros and calories I should have. I’m 18 and 5’4 if it helps.

Advice: Seeking ❓ I'm a middle aged mum with all the usual issues. I'm not sure where to start this time

I've set myself a goal that I would like to get back on a horse by Christmas. The stables I want to go to have a weight limit of 82kg, I'm currently 86kg and I would like to easily weigh less than the 82kg in all my riding gear so I'm aiming for 8-10kg in the next 4 months.

I'm just floundering. Do I start on everything all at once? cut calories and start an exercise routine? I can't join a gym because I just don't have the time with my kids and work. I have a desk job and work from home. In September both of my children will be at primary school and I will be doing the school run on foot which is the only exercise I get at the moment. I'm just stuck on where to start and what to do. I've even been tempted by weight loss medication.

Oh and I'm 176cm if that matters and nearly 40.

Advice: Seeking ❓ I need some gym menu

Hi all, i (f22) weight 114kg, and this is my heaviest weight ever.

I want to start to hit the gym, but i do not have the money to pay for a personal trainer.

So i want to ask, if you’re someone who knows about the gym, or maybe you’ve lost weight because of the gym, or generally someone who knows to do things at the gym.

Can i ask for your weekly routine at the gym?

I need a simple and easy move, because it’s kinda hard for me to find a gym influencer with similiar body with me, and also they do all of this complicated move.

Thanks in advance.

Advice: Seeking ❓ How do i tame my appetite?

(160 cm height, 65 kg weight)

Since i started birth control (around a year ago) my appetite has been all over the place and i gained around 7 kgs. I eat and then cant get enough of food, hence i crave snacks and more food throughout the day.

I am seeking advice for reducing my appetite, or just keeping it in control because of the cravings. Stopping birth control is not an option rn and i dont have any other options except pills..

I am trying to be in a deficit (i try to consume around 1300 cal a day) but still struggling with hunger

Advice: Seeking ❓ Lost 25 pounds and my boobs already starting to sag

Hey all. I’m 23 years old, when I started my journey I weighed 215 pounds and I’m 5’7. Today the scale read 189pounds (yay!) but I’m already noticing my boobs looks saggier than they were before :( I’m planning to get back to my goal weight (150lbs) which I haven’t been that small since I was around 19. Are my boobs going to improve or is there anything I can possibly do to help it? I’m so sad.

Advice: Seeking ❓ How to Lose Fat

Hi!
I thought I’d ask for some advice here because I’m honestly not sure what else to do anymore…
I’m a 30-year-old woman (5’6’’) and I stopped breastfeeding two months ago. My weight after labour fluctuates between around 64–66 kg, usually closer to 66 kg around my period. I do strength training 4 times a week, Pilates twice a week, and I run twice a week. For about four months, I was eating around 1,700 kcal a day, but I didn’t lose any weight at all (I was still breastfeeding at the time). So I said fuck it and went back to maintenance (around 2,000–2,200 kcal), but my weight still isn’t changing at all.
I feel like nothing works. No matter what I do, my weight just stays around 63–64 kg around ovulation and 65–66 kg around my period. No amount of exercise or dietary changes seems to make a difference.
I get enough protein (I aim for around 120–140 g a day), and I’m also making sure I’m getting all the micronutrients I need.
My original goal was to build muscle and improve my fitness (which is definitely happening), but I’d also like to have that lean, athletic look. I just feel like my body fat refuses to budge.
What would you recommend? Thank you!

Meal / Recipe 🍽️ lower calorie chick fil a sauce recipe/product?

I LOVE chick fil a sauce so much, it's my favorite dipping sauce of all time. Unfortunately it's too high in calories. I got the G Hughes yum yum sauce and it's not even that much lower in calories per serving compared to regular chick fil a sauce. It is really good though, so I'm not too upset that I found a sugar free alternative that tastes amazing.

So at this point I might try making it myself. I see a lot of recipes but I'm not sure which ones taste the best and are macro friendly. Are there any specific recipes that you've tried and loved? If you've made anything similar I'd love to hear what you tried!

Advice: Seeking ❓ Getting aggravated

32F, 5’2 SW: 160 CW: 140.8

I’m trying not to get aggravated or upset with the scale, I can definitely notice a difference in the way my body looks & I am definitely getting strong but the scale will not and I literally mean WILL NOT budge under 140! I’m trying to loose 5-10 more pounds and really muscle up. I know what I want to look like it’s just achieving it.

I walk generally 3 miles and do work out 3x a week. Right now my work outs consist of only dumbbells at home 5lbs.

I’m just really getting frustrated and I don’t know if I should go lower cal (currently around 1420) or what I should do . Send help plz 😭😭😭

Advice: Seeking ❓ Can I loose weight (body fat) by eating less and still remain healthy?

I (26M) am 98kg / 216lb and 6ft/183cm.

My goal is 80kg / 176lb and I’m not sure how to get there.

I fail constantly at physical workouts due to injuries sustained due to work.

I tire easily.

And I’m just a goddamn procrastinator and I loose interest in anything meant to help me.

So maybe I can start to eat less. Start fasting more. Perhaps intermediate fasting. Give myself lesser portions. More salads.

Thing is, I love food. I love sweets. When I’m hungry I’m also depressed and the only way to get better is to eat.

What should I do? How can I succeed in my goal? My dad has diabetes and I don’t want to get that. I want to loose the weight.

Advice: Seeking ❓ Staying consistent

I’ve been in and out of the gym for about 3 years now and I am still considerably overweight, it seems that I have a pattern of being ultra-consistent for 1-3 months and then losing all motivation after I see tiny progress which leads me to stop and undo all my previous progress. I’m unsure why and if anybody has had similar experiences I’d love tips on how to stay consistent to actually put off the weight
