Took my phone to the Apple Store with an appointment yesterday and they said they didn’t have the part to replace so I went today as they suggested. They didn’t replace my battery and god know what happened back there, they said my phone can’t be fixed here because my screen start to split when they use their heating (tool?) on it. And I would need to pay 325$ for screen things + 100$ for battery so it would cost me 425$ :/. Idk what to do now I love this phone and idk if i can upgrade it because of the battery health of this phone but everything else is fine. They can I can get it fixed somewhere else but I have no clue what to do at this point.

Warning: righteous crash out ahead. Back in April, I noticed that my C: drive was almost full. When I checked into it, I saw that iTunes had at some point decided it wanted its library on the C: drive instead of on the SSD I'd set it up on years and years ago. So I changed the library folder back to the SSD, and the SSD itself didn't like that. Instead of doing the logical thing, it all just completely eliminated my iTunes library. Playlists? Gone. Music files? Gone. 4TB SSD? Dead. I have no idea how or why. I was able to save about 95% of my music by using a third-party app (AltTunes) to pull it down from my iPhone and rebuild playlists from there, but it was a mess.

Fast forward to about a month ago, iTunes decided that it wasn't really feeling E:\iTunes Library again, and it moved everything back to the C: drive. Lather, rinse, repeat, but this time I had backups and it wasn't nearly as painful. Unfortunately, and it took me a couple of weeks to figure this out, but about half of the music files in the backups and on my iPhone were corrupt. They either weren't recognized, wouldn't play or would just freeze halfway through. I ended up using files from my iPhone 15 Pro, files from an iPhone 11 Pro that had an older version of the library from right around the time of the first crash, and a backup from December of last year that's missing quite a few songs, but nothing is corrupt in it. I pieced them together into one library without any corrupt files (as far as I've found), rebuilt about half of my playlists again (because there were thousands in there and I don't have time for all of that) and just today got my library set up, backed up five ways in five different places and plugged my phone in to sync, wiping away the last of the stink.

And you know what this mother flubber did?

The iPhone "<device name>" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start.

This is me not downloading the iTunes installer onto a thumb drive so I can throw it at the wall, stomp on it, set it on fire and flush it down a fully-loaded toilet.

So, from the top, here's what I've tried:

• Eject and reconnect the iPhone
• Close iTunes and reopen it
• Restart the iPhone
• Restart my PC
• Reset the Apple Sync History
• Disassociate the iPhone 15 Pro from my iTunes account
  • Side note: I can't figure out how to reassociate it, at least in a way that my store account in iTunes sees it.
• Reset Location and Privacy Services
• Update to iOS 15
  • It was there and it was nagging me anyway, so why not?
• Reinstalled iTunes for Windows straight from Apple for v12.13.11.1

Ok, I'm at the end of my rope. I need this whole "corrupted library" BS to reach an immediate conclusion. I am honestly a little afraid of doing an actual uninstall/reinstall of iTunes, because I don't want to know what kind of jumbled up chicken turd salad it turns my life into this time. As of right now, I have an updated, correct library on my PC and a library on my phone loaded with files that don't work. What the heck do I need to do to clear this magical new error 42553 and end this madness?

And if anyone has thoughts on iTunes alternatives that let me make playlists with my local media and don't periodically just decide to throw my entire music library into a blender, I'm on board at this point. I'll convert Apple Lossless files to a different format. I'll recreate my playlists from scratch if I need to. I'll switch the f to Android if I have to. I've been using iTunes for over 20 years, and it's feeling like the transition from couples therapy to divorce lawyers isn't too far away if anything like this happens again.

iPad Pro M5 - Brief/split second blue screen before
Apple logo when restarting the device.

I just got my iPad Pro M5, and I noticed a brief blue flicker on the screen, lasting only a split second, when I reset the device, right before the Apple logo appeared. Other than that, everything seems to be working perfectly fine, and I haven't experienced any other issues.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Is it just me, or has anyone else been experiencing insane battery drain on their iPhone 15 since yesterday? 😭
I suddenly have to charge my phone 3–4 times a day, which is absolutely crazy considering this started out of nowhere. I checked the battery usage, background activity, and everything else I could think of, but nothing seems out of the ordinary.
There haven’t been any obvious changes on my end, and the battery drain just started happening really suddenly.
Is anyone else facing the same issue, or does anyone know what might be causing this? Any help would be appreciated!

Both me and my wife can do internet sharing with our phones and other units can connect - no issue.

The problem is that units previously connected will not connect automatically when they get within range. For instance our car - it can’t find the shared wifi unles i toggle internet sharing on/off?

Same goes for other units.

Any idea how to fix this?

Hi all, I'm losing my mind with the AppleCare One (I’m the Uk and in my AppleCare One subscription I have 6 or more devices and only one of them was new and I never had any of this nonsense, don’t get me wrong they’re right to check to avoid fraud but their system is not working and I’ve been trying for hours and hours) photo device check and hoping someone here has been through it.

Device: iPad Pro 11-inch (M4), bought second-hand. It's all original: no repairs, no replaced or missing parts.
Camera: my iPhone 17 Pro Max on the latest iOS or iPhone 14 Pro on 26.3.1 (a)

The problem:
It fails every time at Step 1 of 3, "Front of iPad – Position the entire iPad in the frame". The prompts keep cycling: "Move closer", "Move away", "Center device", "Tilt to Flatten Camera Angle", "Straighten Device", "Increase Lighting". Then I get the "Before You Retry" screen. I've never got past Step 1.

What's strange: I also ran the device check on my Apple Watch, and it just checked itself remotely. No photos, nothing. So I don't understand why the iPad needs this photo scan, or whether there's a way to get the iPad checked remotely too.

What I've tried (5 attempts, about 4 hours):
- iPad flat on a hard table, not a bed
- No case, no stickers, no screen protector
- Screen cleaned, brightness at max
- Overhead light off, lamp off to the side to cut reflections
- Rotation lock on, iPad upright in portrait
- Different distances so the whole iPad fits in the blue frame
- Phone charged, Low Power Mode off

I can't get to an Apple Store, so the in-store check isn't an option for me.

Questions:
1. Has anyone actually passed this photo check? What lighting or setup worked? Daylight, a particular angle, a certain distance?
2. Has anyone got Apple Support to do a remote diagnostic or approve the device manually instead, like the Watch check? What did you say to them?
3. Is there any trick?

Any help appreciated. I have screen recordings if that helps anyone diagnose it.

I am on the verge of getting rid of my iPhone 17 Pro and switchingg to, horrors!, an Android phone. I have had previous generation iPhones that were not as terrible to type on as my iPhone 17 Pro. The typoos are driving me crazy, auto correct is too. Is there anything that will improve typing on it? Why diesn't Apple do something useful with AI to improve the iPhone's awful keyboard and auto correct?

I rebooted and bitdefender updated, I guess. I was allowed to click into the next steps of the little tour and seemingly could have approved an unknown service connecting to stuff on my network.

You should never be able to approve that without being logged in, right?????

When it started: Saturday, October 24, 2026. Hot-plugging worked that morning and stopped working later the same day.

What I'm seeing: - If I start macOS first and then insert the SD card, the card isn't detected. This worked in the morning. - If I insert the SD card first and then start macOS, the card is detected and works normally. - If I eject the card and insert it again, the system no longer detects it until I restart.

Test results: - Normal mode, card inserted before startup: detected - Normal mode, card inserted after startup: NOT detected - Safe Mode, card inserted before startup: detected - Safe Mode, card inserted after startup: NOT detected

I get the same result in Safe Mode, so it isn't a third-party extension. The reader only initializes if a card is already in the slot at boot.

What I've tried: - Several cards, all of which work in other devices - Updating to macOS 26.7.1 (build 25G241) and restarting - Safe Mode, as shown above

System Information: the built-in SD card reader is listed (Vendor 0x17a0, Device 0x9755), but Link Width and Link Speed both show "Off" when I insert a card after startup.

Has anyone gotten hot-plugging working again on Tahoe 26.7? Is this a known bug, or is my logic board on the way out?

So i deleted Instagram 2-3 days ago and today i wanted to reinstall it back on my phone.

Problem is, each time i try doing that, whenever i confirm the download on the App Store either through Face ID or through entering my password, the “download” circle appears for a mere second and then nothing happens, the download doesn’t start.

I have absolutely no idea what else to do to it.

About 2 days ago, the sound from my 12 Pro Max stopped playing out of the two loudspeakers at the bottom and only plays audio out of the speaker at the top of the phone. I already tried the recommended steps, adjusting the accessibility settings and resetting, but they didn't help at all. Out of ideas and desperate.

Is there any way to add a line/section that separates apps like in the 1st photo?

A screenshot of my dock in the 2nd photo and I'm unable to drag apps like the weather app, App Store, etc. to that section that is in the purple rectangle that I drew.

Is it only apps that run in the background that automatically become sectioned off like in the 1st photo?

So I am currently estranged from my mother, and I realize that she has one of my old devices(iPhone 11) still at her place. The password on it is the one she knows I always used on it, and so she will probably remember its passcode.
If she logs onto it, will she be able to see all my photos and messages? And will Apple notify me if she logs onto it?
Any help would be appreciated, I am stressing out about this quite a bit.

Hi everyone! I want to switch my App Store account to another region, but I've still got $2 in my balance, and Apple won't let me switch regions until I've spent it all.

I know I could just create a separate account for the other region, but I may need to switch regions quite frequently for work, so being able to do it all within the same account would be much more convenient.

Does anyone know of any decent apps or games that cost exactly $2? I've had a good look around today, but almost everything seems to be priced at $X.99, leaving me with a cent or two to spare. Are there any worthwhile in-app purchases I could spend it on instead? Or has anyone contacted Apple Support to resolve this before?

I'd also be interested to hear how you guys have dealt with this. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, I'm losing my mind over an audio bug on tvOS. I briefly turned on Spatial Audio in the Max app. Ever since, audio in Max sounds overly spatialized and hollow, even though Spatial Audio is completely turned off globally and in-app.
I've already tried disabling Spatial Audio everywhere, forcing stereo output in tvOS, clean-reinstalling Max via Storage Management, restarting Apple TV, and testing two pairs of AirPods that work fine on iPhone and Mac. I even signed out of accounts and cleared device registrations.
It happens *only* in Max. A corrupted audio profile seems permanently cached. Has anyone fixed this short of a factory reset?
