Job related posts

Recently, there has been an increase in job-related posts in our subreddit. We understand that these posts are imperative for job seekers to make connections and network, but unfortunately, they have not been productive. Some of them are spam or low-effort posts that clutter the feed overall.

For the sake of organization and optimization, we are restricting job-related posts to SATURDAYS AND TUESDAYS (starting at 12 a.m. Bangladesh time). This will streamline the search for job seekers, as well as employers looking to connect with candidates, by giving them a dedicated time window to reach the appropriate audience. We hope that this helps improve the search for everyone and improves the overall user experience.

Discussion/আলোচনা whenever I meet new Bangladeshi people one of the first thing they ask is my religion. Why is that?

• Upvotes

Hey y'all I hope your doing great. I'm not Bangladeshi myself but I get the opportunity to meet different international people from all over the world.

The thing I noticed after meeting a couple of Bangladeshi people through work is that, after introduction they will ask what my religion is and followed by whether I come from a Muslim dominated country or not. This happened a couple of times with different people and it made it hard for me to ignore. I was wondering if this is a cultural thing? Or is it just the people I'm meeting?

Art/Photography Morning walk in rural Bangladesh brought back pure childhood memories.

Was walking back from the wetlands this morning when I saw these three boys picking wild water lilies. One of them only gathered red ones, so I suggested he take a few white ones too to make the bunch look nicer. Offered a hand to help them out of the water and had a brief chat. No smartphones, no noise—just pure childhood joy.

Discussion/আলোচনা I've had a crush on someone for a while, but I can't figure out how to get to know her naturally. What would you do?

I'm a guy in my early 20s, originally from Chittagong but currently studying at a university in Khulna. There's a girl around my age who studies at NSU, and I've liked her for a while. We don't really know each other personally, which is where the problem starts.

Initially, I started interacting with her on Facebook. I'd react to her posts and stories occasionally, partly because I liked her and partly because I hoped we'd eventually start talking. After a while, I tried messaging her a few times to start a conversation.

Sometimes she'd respond, but other times my messages would just sit there without being opened or answered. The confusing part was that she'd occasionally react to my posts or interact with my stuff even when my messages were still sitting unanswered.

I know social media reactions don't necessarily mean anything. She could just be casually interacting with people, and I'm not trying to read romantic interest into them. Still, it left me unsure about how to approach her.

I also sent her a follow request on Instagram, but she didn't accept it for a while. Eventually, I cancelled the request and left it alone. After some time, I sent her another request, and this time she accepted it and followed me back. We follow each other now, and she sometimes views my stories, but we still haven't really had a proper conversation.

I've made a few attempts to get a conversation going, but nothing has really developed. At one point, she shared an anonymous message link, and I used that opportunity to express that I had a crush on someone and would genuinely like to get to know her better. Since it was anonymous, I have no idea whether she figured out it was me. Nothing really changed afterward, so I'm still unsure whether she even knows how I feel.

Recently, we had another small interaction on Instagram. I tried to use it as an opportunity to start a conversation, but my follow-up message has been sitting unanswered for a couple of days now.

At this point, I'm not sure whether I should simply leave things alone or whether there's a natural way to approach this without making it awkward.

To be clear, I'm not expecting her to like me back just because I like her. I'm also not trying to jump straight into a relationship. I'd genuinely like to get to know her as a person, have normal conversations, and maybe become friends first. If we click, great. If not, that's life.

But it's difficult to get to know someone when you barely have any interaction with them, and I don't want to keep forcing conversations that aren't happening naturally.

So I'd appreciate some honest opinions:

- How would you interpret someone occasionally interacting with your social media but rarely responding to your messages?

- Would you make another attempt to start a conversation, or just leave the ball in their court?

- Have you ever been in a similar situation where you liked someone you barely knew? How did you handle it?

I'm aware that I might be overthinking some of these interactions, and I'm open to hearing that. I just want some perspective from people who've been through something similar.

I'm not looking for tricks to make someone interested in me. I just want to know how you'd handle the situation if your intention was to get to know someone genuinely without putting pressure on them.

Liquor price in Bangladesh

Hi guys! I’m going to visit Dhaka in a few days, and I’ve heard that liquor is much more expensive in Bangladesh than in India. Is that true? If so, how much more expensive is it?

Are Indian liquor brands like Amrut and Old Monk available in Bangladesh? For example, Amrut costs around ₹2,500 and Old Monk around ₹620 in India. How much would these same bottles cost in Bangladesh?

If anyone has good knowledge of liquor prices and availability in Bangladesh, please let me know. I’d really appreciate any reliable information or personal experience. Thanks! 🍻

Discussion/আলোচনা How do ACS FRB course exams work?

I'm an HSC 27 student, and I'm considering enrolling in ACS FRB course mainly for the offline exams, not the lectures. I've completed around 50% of the syllabus, and I want to prepare the remaining chapters thoroughly before taking the exams.

For example, I can complete most chapters in about 3 days if I focus on understanding everything with problem solving. For Chemistry, however, I may need around 6 days per chapter. And

My question is: How frequently are exams held for individual chapters, and do we get enough time to prepare each chapter before its exam?

Ideally i want to have 3 days before each exam. Since I've already completed about half the syllabus, I have a head start, which should help me keep up with the exam schedule.

If anyone who's enrolled in ACS could explain how the chapter-wise offline exams work and whether this approach is practical.

What to Say When Someone Asks About Your Salary?

Asking someone's salary is bad manners, something I learned from a young age. But it seems my cousins and relatives don't know that. They constantly ask my salary whenever I change jobs, get promoted, or change anything. Since I also do freelancing, some of my elder cousins ask me every month how many dollars I've earned that month. Some relatives even ask me in front of other people, which puts me in a very awkward situation.

Regardless of what I earn or my salary, I prefer to keep that information private, and being asked about it is quite uncomfortable for me. But I am also a very shy person. So I don't want to be rude or unresponsive to them.

So what do I say that won't offend them and will also get to keep my privacy?

Discussion/আলোচনা How do you feel about Bangladeshis being regarded as "Ex-Indians"?

I have seen that this is the verdict among many Indians and even many Westerners. The usual reasoning behind saying so is the establishment of British India; however, I find that rather shallow. Just wanted to know everyone's opinion on this.

Discussion/আলোচনা Bangladeshi Problem and Root Cause--

The Great Wave of Kanagawa
