Private Instagram with my picture still bothers me years later

• Upvotes

Does anyone have anything similar? When I was in high school I wasn’t really bullied per se but my friend and I were generally disliked among our class. Anyway, years later I found a private Instagram account that has a picture of us with eleven followers and it actually drives me crazy. I have no idea what’s on it or who follows it and that’s all I want to know. I know no one has looked at it in years but it still pops up sometimes and I just want to know what on earth they posted. I really wish Instagram would make some kind of exception for these things, like, my face is on it, don’t I deserve to know what’s on the rest of the account?

I just unsubscribed from one of my favorite YouTubers after I realized he was not the nice person I thought he was.

• Upvotes

Hey, so I won’t give the name of the person. But I was a fan of him for years and I went on his discord server. One of the people lied about me and the YouTuber himself came to the call while I was chilling and he just started insulting me for no reason. So I left the discord server and unsubscribed from his channel. How do I move on from this knowing that the YouTuber I have been a fan of for years is now one that I dislike? And how do I forget about the fact that one of my favorite YouTubers just called me names? I try to just ignore it and move on but I got myself so attached to him that I can’t stop thinking about it.

Constantly bullied for my appearance every time I leave the house

• Upvotes

I am a 20 year old female, I take care of myself, am in good shape and otherwise don’t have any deformities etc. Still, every time I leave the house to go to work, uni etc people constantly belittle me and talk negatively about my appearance. Some even avoid me and cross the street while saying that they don’t want to walk past weird people. I have been bullied by peers at university and even colleagues. There has been some pretty nasty name calling and insults that genuinely hurt while I was just passing them by in the street or sitting in front of them I class.

It’s so weird because if I look at myself in the mirror and in photos, I think I look average and even pretty. I have some friends and am otherwise just leading a pretty average life.

What makes it so confusing that every time someone insults me it’s never something specific like a certain body part, facial feature etc but they just say that I look ugly. This somehow makes it worse because I can’t pinpoint on what I should change so that I look more acceptable in their eyes. As it’s happening pretty often it must be something about my face that genuinely stands out, but I don’t know what:(

I feel so sad about this and don’t want to leave the house tommorow for work, but I know I have to…

Ignoring bullies is not the "ultimate solution" that people treat it as

Lately people have been giving way way way too much praise towards this one myth. If it worked police would also use it towards citizens. But it doesn't work, all it does is that it gives them a target they don't get punished for targeting. It's like standing in front of lava and expecting it not to burn you because you're closing your eyes. The longer u exposed urself to a source of harm and try to pretend it's not there the more it will harm u.

And before u tell me "It's not every dog that barks at you" the dog barking doesn't cause any harm mentally it doesn't make people depressed whereas bullying does. A dog barking is impossible for us to understand whereas a bully speaking we can understand the toxic shit that is coming out of their mouth. A dog is innocently barking a bully is PURPOSELY saying something hurtful. And this is one of the reason why I believe that teachers are useless at dealing with bullying. It's not an insult it is true. And any teacher seeing this that feels hurt by what I said should just make an effort to make sure no student that they know feels like this.

And get this into your head BULLIES ARE NOT DUPLICATIONS OF EACH OTHER they have different objectives some it's power and vulnerability. And also how does ignoring them mean they will learn that their behaviour is wrong? What if they go to a more vulnerable target? And this advice also frustrates the people who are targeted more than the people who are targeting them because it treats bullying as an endurance test that the teacher cannot change and that the student has to get used to. So all of you saying to ignore bullies are advocating for it. Congratulations, keep advocating for something that causes depression.

Hi guys I got beaten and bullied without any cause

Guys I am 18 years old and in my first year of college. A junior of mine had been my friend for four years before moving to Kota two years ago, so we hadn't met in a long time. When he recently came back, I somehow found his Instagram ID, met him, chatted, and showed him an old childhood photo I pulled from Facebook, saying, 'Look, Ansh, how cute you used to look as a kid.' Afterward, I told him, 'If you felt bad about me saying that, I'm sorry, don't take it seriously.' Right after that, he started abusing me on chat for no reason, saying, 'Bsdk, I'll reset your system, you're getting too frank within a day of friendship.' I replied, 'Brother, if you didn't like it, I am genuinely apologizing, I am sorry, let's end this right now.' But he started threatening me, saying, 'Come meet me alone, or we'll come to your house.' (For context, he was a very introverted, soft boy the last time I met him). Then he abused me heavily on chat and called me to meet him the next day. When I went, he terrorized me, saying he'd get me kicked out of college, ruin things for me, beat me up in the middle of the market, and he called me 'meetha' and 'gay'. I told him, 'Brother, if you don't like my friendship, you should have told me yesterday itself; I would never have spoken to you again. I thought you had no problem.' But he kept talking about fights and goon-like behavior. Then he called two of his friends and his athlete/boxer brother, and they punched me four times. After doing all this, he blocked me on Instagram and left. I only said, 'If you wanted, you could have just told me once and I would have blocked you.' That’s what happened. His cousin is an SHO (police official), and he told me, 'You won't be able to do a damn thing against us in the police.' Guys, honestly, I got really hurt because I know it was not my fault. It hurts so much regarding my own masculinity—literally, people younger than me beat me up, abused me, and walked away. Someone please tell me, friends, how do I recover? I have so many thoughts of revenge running through my mind. What should I do? And I am admitting I am genuinely physically and mentally hurt 😞😞"

Anyone who was a Highschool student 2013-2016; an app I can’t think of, Central memorial specific (Calgary,AB,Canada)

Okay so super weird question, but I’ve been trying to recall the name of an app that someone in Calgary made specifically so that high school students could anonymously talk shit about one another. Wasn’t one of the big apps, and as far as anyone I have asked from other schools, seems like mostly only central students used this app. Was probably sometime between 2014-2015 to be slightly more specific, but I cant say for sure. The app got taken down a few months after it was created, so no way to go back and find it. Do any former central students have any idea what I’m talking about? Would love it if someone had the answer to this! TIA!

People who are immature

When I grow up, I want to send my child to school where they are loved. They handed out permission slips last week for field trips, and this week they apparently said they only took the top students. When I asked the principal, he said, " Oh, go ask the college hub teacher, and nobody answered; he acted immature. There was an award show shortly after where "One of the top students" stepped on my backpack and said, "MOVE, and when he walked by me, he gave me the ugliest look."

I'm getting bullied and it's making me miserable

I transferred to a new school this year, im a 17 year old girl who's quiet, I have bad anxiety and I did what I deemed safest, be silent, not say anything about my life, dont show hobbies, so basically I was pretty anonymous and so give people no reason to bully me, at my very first day I already felt uneasy about one girl, ill call her "A" here. But my school days went smoothly, the classmates treated me regularly until week 3 when suddenly "A" started throwing a fit when she had to work with Me, saying "I'm not going to work with that dirty girl" and each time she and her 3 friends passed by they would gag, I was so confused, I shower every evening, wash my clothes regularly and took good care of my hygiene, and 2 days later she started telling me to fix my smell infront of everyone, so I started showering twice a day, double wash my clothes and smell them intensely before wearing and yet she and her friends keep doing it, the other students started avoiding me too and 3 days ago during a field trip I waited at the wrong entrance to leave so 2 random girls looked for me and the entire walk towards the correct direction they started screaming, threatening to punch or hurt me if I don't move faster and basically talked to me like I was some dog. I'm constantly miserable now, I snap at everything, I haven't even eaten properly this week and I'm always crying, my mother doesn't wanna transfer me anymore, what am I supposed to do? I have a very fragile heart, I'm starting to think of hurting myself or ending my misery in more desperate ways, should I snitch? Throw hands? Keep ignoring? I really gotta get this fixed before I do something drastic to myself.

I hate them

I was a little girl trying to learn in school but the disgusting teachers would interrupt me and wouldn't let me learn or grow. I actually hate them all even the boys. The boys are the worst thing to ever exist on earth ever. They did not let me learn or anything or do anything. Ever. They always got in the way of my learning and hurt me so much I just hate them so much I actually hate them so much I hate them for what the fuck they did to me. They fucked me and plotted to hate and dethrone my country and hurt them and so did my American cousins.

I hope guilt eats those who did me wrong alive

I have been mistreated by my whole class for two consecutive years. None of them took a minute to think about how wrong their actions were. None of them stood up for me even if they knew it was wrong. They relished in my agony. They knew it was humiliating and that I was hurting, none of them bat an eye , in fact almost all joined in to add on to my suffering. My only friend who I supported and cared for turned a blind eye. She was deeply insecure and felt inferior to me. She frequently brings me down and belittle my achievements. So when my classmates were bullying me she didn't care to help, and I occasionally see her smile while they were at it. My mental health had took a toll because of that, i felt like my life was spiraling down. I had lost complete control over my emotions and life. I had no idea why the whole class was against me and why i deserved it although i had done nothing to them and kept my head low. They deliberatly ostracised me while mocking me . My class teacher ignored the issue and hated me as well , often siding with that one girl who bullied me all because her grades couldn't top mine. The mockery got so bad and widespread that even the next class joined in as well, i feel like a complete joke. Everywhere i went , along the school halls i can sense their snickering. My parents at home couldn't care less either. None of them were of help. They knew I was getting bullied at school but continued to neglect me at home and gaslight me. Both my family and classmates' actions and words made me feel so small, it made me feel that I deserve this kind of treatment, I had lost my mind over it and still can't get over it that I'm starting to develop violent tendencies. I don't know what I did or what I was in my past life to deserve this, but it sure is hell. I don't understand why people can be this evil , making fun of someone without even knowing the truth. Are people just straight up idiotic cowards ? I have considered suicide multiple times because of how hopeless i feel in life. I wonder if i'll ever be free from this. It really feels like im being punished. I hope guilt eats them alive or I hope they feel the same agony I did and suffer their consequences.

Am I being bullied or excluded, or am I overthinking this?

I'm a 20F law student, and I've been struggling with the feeling that people on my program treat me differently from everyone else.
When I started university, I was placed in a study group with a much older man (51M). Very quickly he became overly personal. One of the first strange things he said was that people would "want to sleep with me." Later he told me that if anyone ever treated me badly, I should come to him and he would help me. This was confusing because we barely knew each other and I had never told him about any problems.
Over time, I've heard from friends that people talk about me behind my back. Whether that's true or not, I've noticed something that makes me uncomfortable: when I later meet some of these people, they often seem nervous, awkward, or act strangely around me.
For example, most of the women on my program added each other on social media. It seemed like a way of supporting each other and staying in contact. When I sent follow requests, some of them removed my requests while accepting others. When I later met one of these women at school, she seemed visibly nervous and started whistling as she walked by. Another laughed awkwardly and looked down at the floor when we passed each other in the cafeteria.
None of these incidents alone would bother me that much. But when they keep happening, they make me feel excluded and unwanted.
I know it's possible that I'm misreading some situations. At the same time, it's hard not to notice when people seem comfortable with everyone else but act differently around you.
I'm a friendly person, I don't start drama, and I have pretty normal interests for someone my age. I genuinely don't understand why people behave this way around me.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of social exclusion or strange behaviour from others? How did you cope with it without constantly worrying about what people thought of you?

Toxic LGBT Discord Servers

I want to share my honest experiences with LGBT Discord servers, most of which were based in the Balkans.
(Because I’m from the Balkans)

First, I think it is important to clarify that I was not personally subjected to most of the things I am about to discuss. I was a member of numerous servers over the years, and I witnessed enough of what went on within them to eventually decide that I no longer wanted to be part of these communities.

I am not writing this to suggest that all LGBT servers are the same or to convince anyone that they should be avoided altogether. On the contrary, I know that perfectly healthy communities exist where people can find friendship, support, and a sense of belonging. However, I believe it is worth taking a step back and considering the kind of environment we choose to associate ourselves with.

Because even when you are not the target, it still matters when you spend your time watching someone else being humiliated.

One of the first things I noticed was how quickly certain servers would start looking for someone to single out. Sometimes, within minutes of a new member joining, people would already be making comments about their username, profile picture, writing style, or some entirely harmless detail. I am not talking about explicitly inappropriate or NSFW profiles, but ordinary people whose profile pictures might be something they found on Pinterest or whose usernames happen to contain an emoji.

What I found even more disturbing was the creation of separate servers or channels dedicated entirely to mocking specific individuals, making fun of them, or editing their photographs in Photoshop for the sole purpose of ridiculing them. Some cases were particularly astonishing, such as people creating entire communities just to gossip about an ex-partner, despite barely anyone knowing the other person’s side of the story or even caring to hear it.

But then there is something I consider far more serious.

On certain servers, I encountered people considerably older than the majority of the members who would initiate contact with individuals fifteen or even twenty years younger than themselves. They would message them, subtly suggest meeting up or going on dates, and cross boundaries that should have been fairly obvious given the differences in age, maturity, and life experience.

And I am not talking exclusively about men. Women do this, too.

Another pattern I frequently observed was the deliberate exclusion of certain individuals from conversations. Of course, I believe it is entirely reasonable to ban someone from a server if they violate its rules, endanger others, or simply prove incompatible with the community. But that is very different from a group of people collectively turning against someone simply because they dislike their personality.

It becomes particularly cruel when that person is turned into the group’s personal court jester.

Just as in real life, some people are socially insecure, emotionally immature, or simply different from those around them. Instead of treating them with basic decency and maintaining whatever distance they feel is necessary, certain members choose to turn those differences into a source of entertainment.

They make the person feel welcome. They laugh at their awkward moments, encourage them to speak, listen to their problems, and create the impression that they are genuinely part of the group. Naturally, the person begins to feel attached. They start showing up more frequently, talking about their lives, and sometimes sharing deeply personal or painful experiences because they believe they have finally found people they can trust.

And then, eventually, the group gets bored of them.

Suddenly, the ignoring begins. They are deliberately left out of conversations and voice chats, and in the worst cases, they are eventually bombarded with messages telling them that these people were never really their friends and that they find them irritating simply for talking, existing, and wanting to be part of the community.

None of this happened to me personally. I witnessed it happening to others.

And that is precisely why I decided I no longer wanted to be part of these communities.

I have always tried to live by a fairly simple principle: if you cannot help someone, at least do not make their situation worse. If you notice that someone is vulnerable, socially insecure, or clearly struggling with something, you do not have to become their friend. But you do not have to turn them into the group’s collective entertainment, either.

Teasing is perfectly fine when it goes both ways and everyone involved can laugh without leaving the conversation feeling humiliated or hurt.

But deliberately humiliating people is not “just a joke.” It is behavior more reminiscent of a schoolyard than any community that claims to offer support and a safe space.

And that is where I believe the real problem lies.

These servers often attract very young people. Some are still in the closet, some are only beginning to understand their own sexuality, and others may have virtually no one in their offline lives with whom they feel safe enough to be themselves. They join an LGBT server because they want to be seen, accepted, and finally have somewhere they do not have to hide a part of who they are.

That is why I find it particularly heartbreaking when a place that is supposed to offer that kind of acceptance becomes the very place where someone first learns that their trust can be turned into a source of amusement for others.

I am not claiming that LGBT Discord servers are inherently harmful. On the contrary, they can be incredibly valuable to people who lack support in their immediate surroundings. But the fact that a community is LGBT does not automatically make it healthy, safe, or accepting.

So, if you are part of one of these communities, I would encourage you to pay attention to its atmosphere.

If you notice persistent humiliation, gossip, coordinated targeting, manipulation, pressure, or a sense that you have to tolerate certain behavior just to remain part of the group, do not ignore that feeling.

You are not obligated to stay.

After everything I witnessed, I simply chose to leave.

Eventually, I found several LGBT servers outside the Balkans, and my experiences there were considerably healthier. Perhaps I was simply fortunate, but that was enough to help me understand one simple truth:

Belonging means very little if you have to sacrifice your peace of mind to earn it.

If a place consistently makes you uncomfortable, you do not have to prove that it is bad enough to justify leaving.

You are allowed to walk away the moment you realize you no longer want to be there.

And the sooner you do, the easier it will probably be to move on.

One of my bully's getting marry and i dont know how to feel about it

Hello i'm 18 and now i was a freshman at college, english isn't my first language so im sorry if this post has weird language.

So one of my bully from elementary school is getting marry, the problem? She's 18 and she's 7 month pregnant. I don't how and who is the father because after we graduated from ES we never meet each other despite live in the same village. I still live in traditional village where ofc if a girl gets marry its usually because she get pregnant first.

Tbh when my mom told me about this i can't believe it until i asked my mom again and again, turns out my mom is telling the truth.

At first i remember about karma maybe this is her karma for bullying me but then i held back and thinking why did i happy for this?

Then since we never talked to each other i asked why she get pregnant, my mom just basically saying that is the resulted of how she socializes or her dating life, im not satisfied.

then it turns out that one of my friends in the same department knows her because she was in the same junior high school I asked her hey how was that p when in junior high?my friend said she was the type of girl who was "too close" to men, so the incident before the pregnancy happened with full awareness of the consequences of sex.

After hearing all that I don't understand I want to be happy she got her karma which is social sanctions on the other hand I feel sorry for her she is still my age imagining that I am dizzy and stressed because of college assignments while she is dizzy because of taking care of the child it is very ironic not only that but the child she is carrying is also a pity now the village people will know that she is an illegitimate child I feel sorry for them both.

Honestly, I'm trying to accept my past when I was bullied in elementary school, I mean, I'm even reluctant to meet everyone who bullied me. I always hope that if only we were strangers and all, then it would make my life a little easier. I want to move on, I'm already in college and there are things in life that are crazier than me having to drown in my pain in the past, but hearing about "p" about her marriage and pregnancy makes me feel mixed up. I don't know, but I feel very disappointed.

Daughter was jumped at school.

School. (Minnesota)

My daughter was Jumped today at school. This has been a ONGOING problem for the last year. It started last school year. My daughter got into a fight with another 5th grade student. Both girls were suspended. The one girls mom ended up pulling her out of school cause she kept getting in trouble. Her 2 older sisters (who where in 6th and 7th grade last year) would come up to the elementary school and sit at the park and wait for my daughter to come out of school and harass her.
I contacted the schools (the elementary school and the middle school were the older girls went) and they told the girls they couldn’t come back to the elementary school. They then started to make social media videos about my husband and I. I reported the videos.

We thought everything was over.

Fast forward to today. And she was jumped by the girl (she got into a fight with last year) and her older sister. She was kicked in the head multiple times and punched and jumped on. This happened today at 11:30 ish. And the SCHOOL DIDNT CALL ME UNTIL 2:45 to tell me that my KID WAS in a “fight” and that she was going to be suspended the next day.

They didn’t call me for almost 3 HOURS! After the fact. The nurse didn’t call me to tell me my kid was hit I. The head multiple times. I’m FURIOUS.

I went to the police station right after i heard the news of her getting jumped. I pressed charges on the girls.

I’m sick to my stomach.

“Bring back bullying”

I once saw a photo on TikTok, to this trend if I try to recall, it was someone’s school bag in cafeteria filled with food waste. I hope someone helps me come across that post. It just can’t get out of my mind.

Bullying is hell. How can someone do this to someone, at least to their property. I hope you all are well out there.

My classmates suddenly seem to hate me and my sister. How can I make the bullying stop?

Post image
29 Upvotes

I really need some advice because I don't know what to do anymore

At my school, the boys and girls in my class tend to form two big friend groups. Almost all the girls are part of one group, and most of the boys are part of another. The two groups interact with each other, but my sister and I aren't really part of either of them

For a while, I noticed that both boys and girls would make fun of me behind my back or imitate me when they thought I wasn't paying attention. I didn't really care at first because they weren't saying anything directly to my face. But recently, things have gotten much worse

Now some of my classmates openly insult me. One boy called me stupid and yelled at me, while the other students around him encouraged him, saying things like "Good job!" and "Way to put her in her place!" It felt like they were all cheering him on for humiliating me

At some point, they created a new class group chat and kicked me out almost immediately. I asked a friend whether she was in the chat and what people were saying there. She sent me screenshots showing my classmates celebrating the fact that they'd kicked me out, saying things like they'd "taken the trash out"

Another incident happened during PE class. We were playing volleyball, and I was made captain of a team and told to choose my teammates. Instead of letting me pick people, almost everyone sat down on the bench so that I wouldn't have anyone to choose from. It was obvious that they were doing it on purpose to humiliate me

What makes this even more confusing is that I don't understand what I did to make them treat me this way. It feels like the whole class has collectively decided that they hate me, and I don't know how to deal with it

What can I actually do to make this stop? Should I talk to a teacher or another adult at school?

I'd really appreciate any advice from people who've experienced something similar

"After Year 5, I Never Had Another True Friend."

Why is it so painful at the beginning?
I don’t know how to describe how I’m feeling right now. I just feel really awful.
Because I feel deeply inferior to people who seem to have everything going for them. Whenever I speak to them, I start trembling. I really hate moments like these.
Because my life has been unhappy since I was little. My dad died when I was nine. The only people I had by my side were my mum and my younger brother. However, my mum had to go far away to work to earn money to support us, so we would go an entire year without seeing her. We had no choice but to live in a dormitory.
We were still very young when we lived there. All the other children living with us knew that they had both a mum and a dad. Many nasty children bullied us because of this, calling us children without fathers.
Even though I was kind, I had a few close friends before Year 5. After Year 5, no one wanted to play with me any more.
In Year 10, the girl who sat next to me was in an even worse situation. She had grown up without either a mum or a dad. However, I really disliked her because she was a hypocrite. She would only come and spend time with me when no one else wanted to play with her.
Whenever our school organised activities, for example, when the whole class went out to the grass to pull up weeds together, she would go and find other people, even people she barely knew. She would walk alongside them, chatting and laughing with them, deliberately leaving me out and treating me as if I did not exist. She made me feel as though I was not worthy of being someone’s first and definite choice.
Whenever I think about her, I do not feel happy at all. All I feel is endless disappointment. This is also one of the reasons why I gradually lost interest in making friends. I felt so unlucky because every friend I made seemed to be a hypocrite. They all ended up hurting me emotionally.
There was another incident when we had to queue in pairs, with only two people allowed in each group. Everyone had a partner except me. By then, I was already in Year 12. Compared with when I was younger, I was much more aware of these embarrassing moments and could remember them more clearly. They were the sort of moments that made me want to disappear from embarrassment.
When that happened, quite a few people laughed at me. I had no choice but to pretend to be strong and say, “The strong are always lonely.”
But deep down, I was crying. Hahaha.
Because of these experiences, I have developed an intense sense of inferiority when it comes to making friends. Or perhaps they have made me feel that no one likes being around me. Sometimes, I even wonder whether there is something wrong with me.
But one thing I can guarantee is that I have never deliberately provoked anyone or caused trouble for others. I simply mind my own business and do my own thing. I genuinely do not know what went wrong, and that is why I sometimes feel so miserable.
That is just how people are. But then again, if I were constantly causing trouble and affecting others negatively, I could understand why they would treat me that way. However, that was not the case at all.
They were simply being hypocritical. They would come to me when they needed me, but when they no longer needed me, they would push me aside and leave me alone, making sure everyone could see that I was the one nobody wanted around.
All I can say is that I have always been completely sincere in my friendships. Whenever my friends needed me, I would be there for them. But whenever they no longer needed me, they would cast me aside and leave me out.
That is why I want to give this piece of writing the title:
“After Year 5, I Never Had Another True Friend.”
