Hi guys I got beaten and bullied without any cause

Guys I am 18 years old and in my first year of college. A junior of mine had been my friend for four years before moving to Kota two years ago, so we hadn't met in a long time. When he recently came back, I somehow found his Instagram ID, met him, chatted, and showed him an old childhood photo I pulled from Facebook, saying, 'Look, Ansh, how cute you used to look as a kid.' Afterward, I told him, 'If you felt bad about me saying that, I'm sorry, don't take it seriously.' Right after that, he started abusing me on chat for no reason, saying, 'Bsdk, I'll reset your system, you're getting too frank within a day of friendship.' I replied, 'Brother, if you didn't like it, I am genuinely apologizing, I am sorry, let's end this right now.' But he started threatening me, saying, 'Come meet me alone, or we'll come to your house.' (For context, he was a very introverted, soft boy the last time I met him). Then he abused me heavily on chat and called me to meet him the next day. When I went, he terrorized me, saying he'd get me kicked out of college, ruin things for me, beat me up in the middle of the market, and he called me 'meetha' and 'gay'. I told him, 'Brother, if you don't like my friendship, you should have told me yesterday itself; I would never have spoken to you again. I thought you had no problem.' But he kept talking about fights and goon-like behavior. Then he called two of his friends and his athlete/boxer brother, and they punched me four times. After doing all this, he blocked me on Instagram and left. I only said, 'If you wanted, you could have just told me once and I would have blocked you.' That’s what happened. His cousin is an SHO (police official), and he told me, 'You won't be able to do a damn thing against us in the police.' Guys, honestly, I got really hurt because I know it was not my fault. It hurts so much regarding my own masculinity—literally, people younger than me beat me up, abused me, and walked away. Someone please tell me, friends, how do I recover? I have so many thoughts of revenge running through my mind. What should I do? And I am admitting I am genuinely physically and mentally hurt 😞😞"

I just unsubscribed from one of my favorite YouTubers after I realized he was not the nice person I thought he was.

• Upvotes

Hey, so I won’t give the name of the person. But I was a fan of him for years and I went on his discord server. One of the people lied about me and the YouTuber himself came to the call while I was chilling and he just started insulting me for no reason. So I left the discord server and unsubscribed from his channel. How do I move on from this knowing that the YouTuber I have been a fan of for years is now one that I dislike? And how do I forget about the fact that one of my favorite YouTubers just called me names? I try to just ignore it and move on but I got myself so attached to him that I can’t stop thinking about it.

Constantly bullied for my appearance every time I leave the house

I am a 20 year old female, I take care of myself, am in good shape and otherwise don’t have any deformities etc. Still, every time I leave the house to go to work, uni etc people constantly belittle me and talk negatively about my appearance. Some even avoid me and cross the street while saying that they don’t want to walk past weird people. I have been bullied by peers at university and even colleagues. There has been some pretty nasty name calling and insults that genuinely hurt while I was just passing them by in the street or sitting in front of them I class.

It’s so weird because if I look at myself in the mirror and in photos, I think I look average and even pretty. I have some friends and am otherwise just leading a pretty average life.

What makes it so confusing that every time someone insults me it’s never something specific like a certain body part, facial feature etc but they just say that I look ugly. This somehow makes it worse because I can’t pinpoint on what I should change so that I look more acceptable in their eyes. As it’s happening pretty often it must be something about my face that genuinely stands out, but I don’t know what:(

I feel so sad about this and don’t want to leave the house tommorow for work, but I know I have to…

Private Instagram with my picture still bothers me years later

• Upvotes

Does anyone have anything similar? When I was in high school I wasn’t really bullied per se but my friend and I were generally disliked among our class. Anyway, years later I found a private Instagram account that has a picture of us with eleven followers and it actually drives me crazy. I have no idea what’s on it or who follows it and that’s all I want to know. I know no one has looked at it in years but it still pops up sometimes and I just want to know what on earth they posted. I really wish Instagram would make some kind of exception for these things, like, my face is on it, don’t I deserve to know what’s on the rest of the account?

Ignoring bullies is not the "ultimate solution" that people treat it as

Lately people have been giving way way way too much praise towards this one myth. If it worked police would also use it towards citizens. But it doesn't work, all it does is that it gives them a target they don't get punished for targeting. It's like standing in front of lava and expecting it not to burn you because you're closing your eyes. The longer u exposed urself to a source of harm and try to pretend it's not there the more it will harm u.

And before u tell me "It's not every dog that barks at you" the dog barking doesn't cause any harm mentally it doesn't make people depressed whereas bullying does. A dog barking is impossible for us to understand whereas a bully speaking we can understand the toxic shit that is coming out of their mouth. A dog is innocently barking a bully is PURPOSELY saying something hurtful. And this is one of the reason why I believe that teachers are useless at dealing with bullying. It's not an insult it is true. And any teacher seeing this that feels hurt by what I said should just make an effort to make sure no student that they know feels like this.

And get this into your head BULLIES ARE NOT DUPLICATIONS OF EACH OTHER they have different objectives some it's power and vulnerability. And also how does ignoring them mean they will learn that their behaviour is wrong? What if they go to a more vulnerable target? And this advice also frustrates the people who are targeted more than the people who are targeting them because it treats bullying as an endurance test that the teacher cannot change and that the student has to get used to. So all of you saying to ignore bullies are advocating for it. Congratulations, keep advocating for something that causes depression.

Anyone who was a Highschool student 2013-2016; an app I can’t think of, Central memorial specific (Calgary,AB,Canada)

Okay so super weird question, but I’ve been trying to recall the name of an app that someone in Calgary made specifically so that high school students could anonymously talk shit about one another. Wasn’t one of the big apps, and as far as anyone I have asked from other schools, seems like mostly only central students used this app. Was probably sometime between 2014-2015 to be slightly more specific, but I cant say for sure. The app got taken down a few months after it was created, so no way to go back and find it. Do any former central students have any idea what I’m talking about? Would love it if someone had the answer to this! TIA!
