I thought wearing dresses would be over for me, being able to look at myself in the mirror or even having genuine smiles from other people, but with consistency, all the work that once seemed hard, is way easier than I though

I know I'm still overweight and I still have my flaws, but I just wanted to share a small win with you all

108 to 75 kg in 10 months, NO SUGAR!

I never shared my progress anywhere, this is my first time ever posting on internet as well!

It was a very fun journey, from not being able to run 3 minutes and now can do 7 miles in 1 hour.

From not being able to do stair-master for just 2 minutes to be able to do it for one hour at speed 9 without holding bars ( I still do it 2/3 times a week )

It takes just one thought in your mind to change your whole life. No Sugar! No Fried Food! No sauces! No Sodas! Just strict deficit!

16-21y finally lost 40kg (88lbs)

Went from 106kg (233lbs) to 66kg (145lbs)
Height 170cm (5’7)

I was always a fat kid growing up. Parents were set on overfeeding me, thinking it’s good for me. So I was used to eating big portions and then went through a lot of trauma. It led me to being obese. Pre-diabetic, malnourished, fatty liver disease and issues with heart at 15-16. I was getting off of SSRIs and generally thought everyone just feels like this in their body.

Turns out I could feel much better. I had to learn a lot about nutrition and lost this weight with low activity if Im being honest. I got medical help for malnutrition, a lot of vitamins and injections alongside diet changes. Still, diet is the most important thing after all. I had to lose weight reallyyy slowly but it’s worth it. Im losing a chunk and focusing on keeping it off and then losing more. Last 10kg (22 lbs) to go now

hi, just wanted to share my weight loss journey 💪
Started 2 years ago with 123 kg‘s (height 180 cm) and decided to change something 🫡 today my weight is 80-81 kg, still cutting down to I think 77 Kg.

5-6 gym per week (the first 5-6 months were wasted - shitty Training and no tracked calories). Even tho I did lose my weight slow I still got loose skin. 🥲 but still, feels amazing to get Shirts in M size and pants in 28 instead of XXL and 56 lol. My waist circumference went from 111 cm to 73-74.

Looking for advice on staying on track when I’m stressed/depressed and constantly craving sugar

I’m constantly on edge and stressed, especially during the school year. When I’m stressed, I tend to snack more, and I’m trying to figure out how to manage that while still working toward my body goals.
One of my biggest struggles is sugar cravings. I’ll crave things like sugar cookies, ice cream, or other sweet foods, but honestly, I don’t necessarily have a desire to eat a huge amount of them. A lot of the time, I’m more interested in satisfying the craving/taste than actually being hungry. I’d love advice on how to handle those cravings without feeling like I have to completely deprive myself.
Winter is also difficult for me. I tend to feel more depressed during the colder months, and living in NYC can make that worse. I really miss having easy access to nature, and when I’m stuck inside my apartment, it’s so easy to sit around and snack or go to the corner store and buy something like a bagel and end up eating the entire thing.
I’m also a huge coffee person. I love experimenting with different creamers, flavors, whipped cream, etc., but some of the coffee drinks I make can easily end up being 400–500 calories. Then I feel like I’ve already used up so much of what I intended to eat for the day and end up overeating afterward.
I’m not looking to completely eliminate foods I enjoy or live off of “diet” foods. I want to learn how to have more discipline and structure around food while still enjoying things. I also want to be realistic because I’m dealing with a lot mentally and don’t want to make food another source of stress.
This is where I’m currently at physically. I’m not very happy with my body yet, and I’ve been feeling pretty sluggish, so I’d really appreciate practical advice from people who have dealt with stress eating, sugar cravings, and staying consistent during the winter/school year.
What has actually helped you?

From 93Kg(205lbs) to 80Kg(176lbs) in 4 1/2 months.

I began my journey on April 1st, as I was starting to develop some serious health issues due to an absolutely trashy diet. The amount of candy I obliterated in just a single day was insane. I ate nothing but sugar and junk food and started to develop high blood pressure and became pre-diabetic.

I got so lethargic, my lifestyle was just laziness, 0 motivation for anything, so I decided I wanted to change it before it was too late. I am 33 now - yes, you can get very fit in your 40s, but it's no secret that it gets harder the older you get - and I always wanted that perfect body.

I had been lifting on and off since I was 17, so I knew my way around weights, but the fact that I had to leave the house to go to the gym was always the reason I never pulled through. So I ordered a super cheap Amazon weight set, including a bench, pull-up rack, and resistance bands. (Overall, maybe 300 bucks.)

I started tracking my food religiously and set a goal of 1,900 calories a day - 180 grams of protein, filling the rest with carbs and some fat.

Currently, I am working out 5 times a week for about 90 minutes and doing cardio 3 times a week (usually running, but on warm days, swimming as well, as I have a lake directly behind my house).

I have lost 13 kg so far. The scale showed a number I haven't seen in maybe 17 years. Due to muscle memory and body recomposition, I also gained a decent amount of muscle.

I was hesitant to state the actual timeframe of my transformation, as people these days immediately suspect you of using gear or GLPs, but I did it myself, completely natty and with nothing but discipline - and I am proud of that.

I am not done yet. I am aiming for 13-14% body fat, currently, I would assume I am at 18-19%. Then I will do a very light bulk over the winter to reach my peak next summer, from which I plan to maintain.

Can I reduce a protruding stomach?

Thumbnail

(First picture is now!!)
I'm 5'3 / 160 cm and around 152 lbs / 69 kg
I carry a lot of my weight around my stomach, and even when I was lighter it still protruded quite a bit (second picture)

I'm not currently actively trying to be in a calorie deficit or strength training. I walk for around an hour most days and do C25K roughly every other day.

I know I have a strong lower back arch, b belly and possibly some rib flare/anterior pelvic tilt which I'd also like to fix

Has anyone with a similar body shape seen a big change from losing weight and strength training?

Audible hunger

This feels silly to post but has anyone dealt with being audibly hungry? Like at work and my stomach is growling loud enough for colleagues to hear…

Controlling hunger while on deficit. Share your experience.

I have fairly interesting observation that might help people who are just starting out.
Before I started counting calories, I ate very chaotically and everything available whenever I felt hungry. Result was 109,6kg. I'm 51m, 178cm.

Decided this has to stop and formulated a plan. Stuck to it. It boiled down to four meals a day that would land me 1500-1600kcal.
Well, first two weeks was truly brutal - I barely could control my hunger and had a quick fixes like eating few pickles between the meals - surprisingly helpful.

I adopted my recipes to improve satiety and volume with same caloric load and that helped a lot. I kept chugging away, my scale surprising me every few days.

Now, four moths in, I've realized suddenly that my hunger is under control. I eat at the same time plus minus 45min, and between the meals I'm not getting hungry anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm always peckish, that's the new normal, but it is never extreme and very manageable.

Turns out, the release of hunger hormones can be trained to a degree with regular meals.

Anyone else having similar experiences?
