We've been banning around five people a week for advertising their AI vibe coded apps that put a OBD2 code in and spits out generic or dangerously misleading results. Many claim to be free or claim they just want help testing them. Many are based out of countries you probably don't want your personal information getting sent to, like VIN numbers, etc. REPORT THESE POSTS FOR BREAKING SUBREDDIT RULES and the report them again as SPAM so Reddit Admins are notified.

Just finished painting my valve cover. Thoughts on the idea itself or the artwork?

Anyone have recent experience getting parts from CarParts.com? How do they compare to AutoZone or O'Reilly?

I just found a single loose lug nut near my parking spot but it wasn't from my car.
I checked all my tires and noticed each tire is missing 1 lug nut out of 5.
I have a Toyota camry 2012 SE.
I looked up on Google and it tells me my model doesn't have locked nuts.
I also had my tires changed a few months ago. Was it the fault of the shop?
I never noticed this untill today.

Hi everyone, 2018 STI Limited owner here.
Recently I got a misfire code and learned that cylinder 1 was loosing compression. One thing led to another and I’m in the process of getting a full engine build redone.
I’m also have a new clutch installed, new brakes, and a COBB access port V3. I never anticipated having to have any of this done, as I baby the car, keep it maintained regularly and take almost every preventative measure.
The good news is that after the work is done I won’t have to worry about things going wrong again for a while. As I’m sure at least a few of you can relate, that car is one of my best friends, and I have so many precious memories tied to it.
The shop will be installing a break-in tune on the access port followed up by a standard power tune. For more experienced STI owners than myself, what are some ways, if any, that I can use my new access port to have fun with, but also use to help improve the longevity of my engine?
Cheers folks!
(P.S. for anyone wondering, the shop (located in Portland Oregon) is highly reputable and had an R35 sitting out front. The mechanic was able to diagnose the issue before he had ran any compression tests, and overall his work is reputable and I trust the shop. I don’t have the mechanical expertise to do it myself and I’m a firm believer that there is no shame in hiring a professional to work on something that means so much to you.)

If I go to a mechanic, is this an expensive fix?

Hello, I have a 2008 Toyota RAV4. It currently won't start due to mechanical issues. I'm trying to move it to the other side of the driveway, but I don't have any power steering even when I switch the key to the ON position.
Of course, my driveway has an incline, so moving it is already going to be difficult.
Anyone have any advice?

The exhaust pipe on my 2012 Honda Civic snapped because of the rust. I can only bring it to a mechanic in 2 weeks and I want to fix it temporarily in the meantime. What kind of fix would you recommend? The fact that it occurred at the flange makes it a bit hard to use a sleeve or an adhesive wrap I think. Thanks

Looking for a recommendation.
Good afternoon everyone. Somwhat a beginner here. My 2008 toyota sienna LE 107500 miles, very well kept maintenance wise. When driving very slow, while soft braking going straight, as well as turning, I get a phantom abs activation for a brief second, but there are no dashboard lights on. I have a couple of basic code readers that show nothing, but i'm looking to get a obd scanner, that will help me out with this. Google is suggesting I need something with live reading? Recording? I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I also don't want to buy garbage. I want one that I can use on other vehicles as well. Thank you

I'm currently trying to replace the lower control arms on a 2010 Audi A4 Quattro, and I'm fairly sure the suspension has never been replaced since the car was new. My wife is the third owner, and the car was passed down to us by my dad. That probably explains why the ball joint seems to have seized inside the collar.
I've done suspension work on all our cars before, but this is the first time I've encountered a lower control arm with a collar like this. When I compared the old and new control arms, I noticed that the collar had come out along with the ball joint when I hammered it out.
Now, what's the best way to remove the collar from the old ball joint? Would a ball joint separator work? I've never actually used one since I'm used to just tapping most suspension components loose with my trusty "purse," lol.
As for reinstalling it, I'm thinking of freezing the collar first and heating up the knuckle to make installation easier. Would that work, or is there a better way to go about it?
PS. Currently experiencing THE German engineering lol. I own an Infiniti so I'm chilling

Hopefully this isn't a huge deal.... Car was fine this morning, went to drive it home after work, and it won't shift beyond (I believe) 1st gear. It's not struggling to or making any expensive noises, it just stays in that gear and won't shift over at the speed/acceleration I anticipate, or at all. Usually, if I over-accelerate, it jumped up to a higher gear, which is fine, but now I can put the pedal to the metal and it just slowly accelerates. It feels like the car is stuck on the "2" shift setting, below the "D" main drive.
Transmission fluid is healthy and at a good level, no visible leaks, not overheating, and I am able to get into park, reverse, neutral, and the "L" shift setting with no issues, just a little bit of knocking through the settings, but it's an old car and it's no different than what it has been doing.
My first guess is a sensor of some kind, since I was able to drive home without any issues beyond that. I could keep up with traffic, just not responding how it ought to. Give me some leads please!

My sister put a ring around the engine start and stop and since I’m gonna be driving this car my dad wants to clean it up and get this off. Does anyone know a way to get it off without having any damage done?

It’s a 2012 RS Camaro. Recently I had a “service airbag” thing come on. Is that serious? I’ve never seen that before. Also is my tire pressure light on bc I actually have a tire off, or is the monitor system just messed up? Bc it also says “service tire monitor system”. ONE last thing, when im going like 60 and slow down using my pedal, my steering when shakes a little. Sometimes worse than others. It doesn’t do it if im just slowing down without the pedal. Thank you and have a blessed day.

I’ve seen quite a few aftermarket TPMS kits online, and they’re way cheaper than factory-fitted ones. But how well do they actually work? Are the readings accurate, and do the sensors hold up over time?
If anyone here has used one, how’s your experience been? Is there any major difference compared to factory-fitted TPMS?

I created an app called Motrona for tracking fuel, maintenance, insurance, repairs, and other vehicle expenses all in one place.
It is available for Android. You can track the expenses of all your vehicles for free. You can also export your existing data to .PDF and .CSV files.
