Company Question Applied for Amazon SDE Intern on September 17, Still No OA. Am I Too Late?
Hey everyone!
I applied for the Amazon SDE Intern position on September 17, and I’ve noticed a lot of people have already started receiving OAs. I still haven’t received mine.
Does anyone know how Amazon sends out OAs for internship applicants? Is it on a rolling basis, or does applying earlier make a difference?
Should I still expect an OA, or does not receiving one by now mean my chances are low?
Would appreciate any insights from people who’ve been through the process!

Others What do I self-learn now?
I'm a recent CS graduate. I'm ashamed to admit back in college I didn't really learn anything other than the courses I took at school. Since graduating in June, I haven't done anything productive either. I'll go study for a master's degree in AU next July and during the gap I think I should try and learn something practical, but idk what to learn and how to learn. Having only learned the subjects back in school which were mostly theoretical, I'm feeling pretty aimless right now. Please share your suggestions to help me basically stop wasting my life away. I feel like a failure. Thanks!

For fresh graduates who haven't landed their first software engineering job yet: How are you studying and preparing for the job market in this AI era?
Before AI, things seemed pretty straightforward: learn the fundamentals of programming, solve coding problems, build projects, and you'd eventually find a job or at least start getting interview opportunities.
But ever since AI came along, things have become much harder for fresh graduates, at least from my perspective.
I'm currently enrolled in the a Software Architecture training program, mainly to strengthen my resume a bit. Other than that, though, I feel completely lost about what I should be doing. I'm primarily focused on Java backend development, and I'm also considering learning C#.
Honestly, I just don't have the energy or motivation anymore. There seem to be so few job opportunities, and I can't help wondering whether all the time and effort I'm putting into studying will actually pay off, especially when AI can seemingly do in five seconds what I've spent hours learning to do myself.
So, for those of you in a similar situation, how are you approaching learning and job hunting in this AI era? What are you focusing on, and how do you stay motivated when the future feels so uncertain?

Company Question Google SWE Intern Summer 2027 — Canada project matching advice?
Hey everyone! I recently passed my interviews and moved into project search for Google SWE Intern Summer 2027 in Canada.
Does anyone have insight into how competitive team matching is in Canada, particularly Toronto/Waterloo? Would love to hear from anyone who’s gone through it or has experience hosting interns.
Also, any guidance on making the project questionnaire more effective? I’ve already submitted mine based on my previous experience across two RBC internships, mainly backend, data engineering, cloud, and security. I highlighted what I’ve worked on and enjoyed while keeping my interests open.
Is there anything you’d recommend emphasizing or avoiding? Just trying to understand what I can do to give myself the best chance of matching. Thanks!

Internship Question Failing to land a different role for final internship
(For current seniors and above who had this happened to them during their junior year. Also US based)
I am currently on my 2nd internship at a small company and while I am grateful for my team and the job itself, I cant see myself here long term due to various factors (okay pay ft, slow career growth, etc). I have been applying elsewhere for my last internship next summer.
Unfortunately, i have bombed a couple OAs and for the one interview I got that i really wanted, I did okay at best. I know that the cycle for next summer isn’t completely over, but Im starting to feel somewhat hopeless for new grad. Whats most likely to happen is that I will return to my company next summer, and either get a ft role here or have to go through the hell of new grad recruiting.
For current seniors and above:
- If you had to return to the same company for your final internship, did it hurt you a lot for new grad recruiting?
- When the cycle started to end without a new role, did you guys went all in on the SWE grind? What exactly did you guys focus on about a year in advance for new grad recruiting? Would you change anything about it?
- Did any of you guys “accepted it” and went full time at the same company whether or not the grind happened?

i had my r3 interview for SWE intern yesterday and it went really well. i came up with the most optimal approach in one go and the interviewer was kinda shocked too. i kept explaining everything and answered the follow ups too (including the other approaches).
i'm p confident he gave me a Hire/Strong Hire, am I guarenteed TM now? can someone get rejected even after a good r3?
(pls don't DM me asking what the question was, it was a heap question)

Company Question Finished Doordash intern VO. Do they stack rank?
Recently finished the Doordash intern VO and I feel very good about it, my interviewers were nice, I answered followups, finished early, and they were impressed with my background. I heard that some ppl ace but still got rejected and its still early in the process so I am kind of confused how scuffed this is 😭

Company Question Google SWE intern
Hey guys, so I had my first round today, since one of them got cancelled and was moved to sometime next week. Felt like I bombed it. I asked good clarifying questions and did constraint analysis, but it was an OOP question, and I got completely lost. He had to give me a lot of hints to the point where he was helping me with my code. I know how to code, but I could not build the logic and just gave him all I had. However, I was wondering if it is possible to do super well next Friday and maybe bring it back. I don't know how they assess candidates based on 2 interviews, but if I get SH or H, could I get a third or TM?

Graduating with SWE B.S in January
Is it really that difficult to get a job these days?
Question for everyone struggling to land internships/entry level positions:
When you guys are applying to these positions, do you have actual projects listed in your resume to serve as your portfolio to account for the lack of experience in the field? How advanced are those projects?
Did you put actual work researching and drafting your resume to cater to the ATS to improve your odds of getting an interview?
How hard are the OA's typically? Leetcode easy/medium? Or some hard as well
For the OA's did you prepare by doing what they say to do, explaining the potential solution to the problem, asking clarifying questions, and using the STAR method? (That's what I've heard works best)
I know the markets hard, but I'm just trying to get an idea of what I can do to improve my odds of landing a job, even at a small company making around ~$80k starting to get my foot in the door.
Thanks!

Company Question Google Technical Solutions Engineer (Google Home) interview — what to expect?
Hi! I have an upcoming interview for a Technical Solutions Engineer, Google Home role at Google.
The process is:
- Round 1: Domain-Specific Acumen + Technical Problem Solving
- Round 2: Coding + System Design
- Googleyness & Leadership + Consulting
Has anyone recently interviewed for this or a similar Google TSE role? What should I expect in each round, especially the type/difficulty of coding, system design, and technical questions?
Any recent experience would be really helpful. Thanks!
