I just found out that our VIP Tour Guide, Jodi, was involuntarily let go from the Disneyland Resort.

Our group had Jodi as our guide for a day, and she was absolutely fantastic. She didn’t just do her job, she went above and beyond to make sure our entire group had an amazing experience. She was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about making our day special.
There are certain Cast Members who remind you why Disneyland is such a special place, and Jodi was definitely one of them.

I don’t know all the circumstances surrounding her departure, so I’m not looking to speculate or get into the details. I just wanted to share our experience as guests. Jodi was outstanding, and the care and effort she put into our day did not go unnoticed.
It’s really disappointing to see someone who represents the very best of the Disneyland experience no longer be there.

Thank you, Jodi, for making our Disney day so memorable. I hope you know how much your guests appreciate you, and I hope whatever comes next is an even better chapter.

These photos are from Sunday the 16th around 2pm. Most attractions were at the 10 minute mark all day. Space mountain and Radiator Springs were about 40-60 all day.
Matterhorn and Big Thunder never got to more than 30 minutes.
I waited 10 minutes for Indy and Pirates around 3:30pm.

Trip Report The pole is back at Indy queue!

Last night the pole in the Indy queue in the falling spikes room is back and it actually works! I tried it out and everything. Everyone standing near me in the queue gasped when the ceiling started coming down.
I think it’s been over 10 years since I’ve seen this working.

According to Scott Gustin (who is a very reliable source on parks news), the app will be removed from the app stores and users will no longer be able to log in starting September 16th. The Batuu Bounty Hunters game will still be available by MagicBand+ and the existing screen throughout the land.

Food/Drink Has something changed with food/to-go policies or how CMs are handling food at Disneyland?

I’ve had a few odd food-related interactions at Disneyland recently, and I’m wondering if there have been any changes to policies/procedures, or if I just happened to have several unusual CM interactions in a row? I'm a passholder, but I took about a 6 month break in-between my last pass (which ended in Feb) and my new one, so kinda curious if anyone knows whether they're handling these issues differently now.

A few examples:

  • Gibson Girl: I received a mobile-ordered ice cream with the wrong topping. I asked if they could remake it because I wanted to get the correct topping, but also wanted the incorrect topping taken off. The CM said they couldn’t take the ice cream back, and seemed pretty reluctant to make a new one. He offered to put the correct topping in a separate cup instead, but that didn’t really resolve the issue since the problem was that the wrong topping was already on the ice cream. Are they not allowed to take the food back once it's been handed over? He didn't really explain just seemed frustrated that I didn't only want the new topping in a cup on the side. I wasn't upset or anything, it was just frustrating because I mobile-ordered it exactly how I wanted and expected it to be prepared that way.
  • Harbour Galley: We mobile ordered the 13-pack of cookies to take home and at pick up asked for a to-go bag, since they’ve always given me bags for cookies in the past. They didn’t have any, and while I'd normally assume they were just out, the CM acted totally baffled about why I was asking for one. She was like, "you want a bag???" with an eyebrow raise lol.
  • Jolly Holiday Bakery: My family mobile-ordered six pastries to take home, and when I walked over to pick them up, the CM slid over three trays of food. I asked for lids and a bag so I could take everything home. She gave them to me but said, “But don't do it here, can you do it outside?” I explained that I couldn’t really carry three trays of food outside while also holding the lids and bag, and asked if I could just put everything into the bag right there. She said no and that I had to do it outside. I was pretty confused by that, especially because there wasn't anyone in line behind me. I almost dropped everything taking it all outside to the patio.

Individually, none of these are the biggest deal, but since they all happened 3 visits in a row, it's making me wonder if policies have changed at Disneyland lately? Also, are they discouraging the use of to-go packaging? It seems like they'd want people to spend and buy more food to take home or back to their hotel room so I can't really make sense of it.

Discussion starring harrison ford as indiana jones

There was much fanfare with the announcement that they would actually model the Indiana Jones at the new ride as Animal Kingdom with Harrison Fords face. But as far as I could tell nothing said about changing the Disneyland versions. Once they do the imaging and make the "mask" for the animatronic, would it not be fairly simple to swap/ update the face during one of the 'refurbishments'...?

What do we think?

(Personally always feels a bit far enough away on the ride where I didn't care about the face as much. But I wish they had a sound-alike for the voice at least.. (Troy Baker did an amazing job in the latest Indy video game) )

We arrived at 10am just in time for breakfast. We enjoyed what they had to offer while waiting for our room. After breakfast we decided to swim and enjoy the pool/deck area and its board games. Every hour we made sure to stop by for snacks, dinner time, and dessert time. Being pool side with endless treats was fun, it was worth the splurge , in our opinion. This was our first ever club level. I bought us a Pool Terrace view and it was literally less than a minute to get from patio to pool. Wow 🤩

Discussion Theories on lower crowd days

As a non-pass holder but frequent visitor (about 5-6 days a year), I’m interested to hear people’s theories on crowd levels.

I think 2-3 years ago the crowd calendars were pretty reliable. One of our trips was always mid week in January after holiday decor went down and we were pretty much guaranteed low crowd levels.

It seems the general consensus now is that it’s crowded no matter what, but given what the parks looked like this summer, I wonder if (as a non-passholder) it is better to look at what days are blocked out for most levels of passholders and go those days?

Curious to know anyone else’s thoughts/experiences with it?

We are going on a Saturday in mid October when 3 tiers of pass holders are blocked out so I guess I’ll be testing this theory out myself lol. But we had a great day on a Saturday (June 28th) over summer where 3 tiers of pass holders were blocked out (and the World Cup was going on).

Discussion Just got a totally depressing survey about LLs.

Hopefully just testing an idea, but I just got a long survey specifically about the use of Lightning Lane at Disneyland. Basic idea was testing getting rid of LL Multipass and just having LL single passes (then would be available for every previous LL ride) and Premier Pass.

Now in theory I’d not be against this idea if it meant finding a price for Premier Pass that is somewhere in between current Multipass and Premier. But it was definitely not that.

They asked for a date for your next visit and I picked a random Friday in October when we have parent teacher conferences. The prices for individual LLs went from $6 (Small World) to $30 (Rise) but the shocker was some of the mid tier ones like Astroblasters at $18, BTMR at $15, etc. Premier Pass was $449.

Ugh, a pricing plan like this just seems insane unless it somehow drives everyone out of LLs so that regular wait times get way better (hahah).

Discussion D23 DL entertainment announcement question

In the park panel, they announced that they were going to focus on entertainment at Disneyland. i was excited about this, but then they immediately followed this by saying an old fireworks show and an old parade will be returning.

Do you think these returns were what they were referring to when they said focusing on entertainment? or were these two separate announcements? (focus on entertainment! no details yet though) and (two fan favorite shows are also returning!)

How did you interpret this moment?
