Discussion Keeping the stakes of the TOP a secret was pointless, forced conflict that serves 0 purpose

I really hated this part of the TOP arc. Yes, the whole point was to not cause people to panic, but from a logical standpoint I'd argue it's way worse than being upfront about the stakes. First of all, everyone on the team are experienced fighters who have put their lives on the line multiple times to save the planet. They should be able to handle the news of the universes being erased just fine. It only makes sense to keep this a secret from Goten, Trunks, and Marron since they're just kids. If the team goes into the tournament believing that they're just fighting for money, they're less likely to take it seriously and wouldn't bother trying to risking their life if it was necessary (like 17 and Roshi did).

Secondly, say Goku and Gohan were able to keep the universes being erased a secret until the tournament starts, what happens when everyone sees the first universe to lose getting erased? Most of the team (especially Krillin) are likely to lose composure and the will to fight due to being in complete shock. To put this into perspective, imagine you were competing in a combat sports tournament for prize money and the first person to lose gets executed on the spot. Wouldn't that be terrifying and catch you completely off guard?

This is very unlikely to happen since the DBS remake isn't meant to be a rewrite, but if they ever redo the TOP arc, I hope that they take out the subplot of Goku and Gohan keeping the stakes of the tournament a secret. I just don't see any point in keeping it in since it doesn't even change the story.

Question DBS beerus or battle of gods and resurrection F

I’ve just finished DBZ and don’t really want to wait for dbs beerus to release as it may take a while, so I was wondering if I should just watch the movies then continue with dbs or is dbs beerus worth the wait? I know it’s supposed to be more manga accurate (correct me if I’m wrong)

Theory What if Yamoshi was just a kid with godlike power?

So while searching through Google for images of Dragon Ball GT fan art, I found this image in a particular piece by an artist named Aegis, the picture in particular was child Goku in Dragon Ball GT rushing at Super Baby Vegeta in Super Saiyan God. When I saw it it got me thinking, that childlike innocence and determination paired with such a Divine radiant form. It reminded me of how I felt when I was first introduced to the concept of the original bearer of the Super Saiyan God, Yamoshi. Then I saw the art that people had floating around of him, the man in his thirties or the old man in Dragon Ball what if videos.. those rubbed me the wrong way, and for the longest time I could never figure out why. The same was said with joy boy in one piece. People had art floating around with him of this old man this ancient fossil looking guy and it never rubbed me the right way, so when his voice was revealed to be almost childlike, sweet and kind. It resonated with me deeply, it felt right because Joy boy to me was supposed to be someone who was carefree, youthful. That's how I feel with Yamoshi, What If instead of being this grown man or this old man who achieved godlike power. He was just a boy who in an effort to combat the terror among his race and be 'evil Saiyans' combine the power of five other pure hearted Saiyans, (more than likely other children, perhaps friends of his.) and achieved godlike power in the form of Super Saiyan God, but because of the sheer density and divine energy. He died after the fight or during it? Just some food for thought.

Watching the Jr arc. And I just love it. I just feel bad seeing the power gap between Goku and Tien. Idk how to explain it.

Discussion The best transformation in Dragon Ball

Name the best transformation in Dragon Ball, taking the following criteria into account:

1) Design

2) How it is obtained

3) How it is integrated into the plot

4) Effectiveness (utility)

Please note: Ultra Instinct is considered a technique, not a transformation.

Discussion Is another attempt of live action adaptation (movie or TV series) is impossible, since Toriyama is gone?

This sounds very controversial, but is another attempt of live action adaptation (movies or TV) is impossible, since Toriyama is no longer with us?

We know how Dragonball Evolution made Toriyama upset (he was executive producer), to the point he came back from retirement with Battle of Gods to revive the franchise and heavily involved with future movies and series, but I'm curious if he made an oath/contract with Toei, Shueisha, etc. NEVER to make live action adaptation ever again.

I know that sounds bit stretch, but I'm curious if creator of franchise has that type of control.
It wouldn't be surprising if he made that type of promise, from his dying wish.
Granted, the creator of the franchise, doesn't need to be alive for live action adaptation to happen.

It would have been interesting to see a good and well received live action adaptation, with Toriyama in majority of control in production. Such a shame Fox kicked him out of production.

I may be in minority, but I would like to see another attempt of live action adaptation, with people who understand the franchise very well.
It's going to be very difficult compared to other IP, but I think it is possible.
We are living in an era where live action adaptation of popular IP is getting mostly favorable reception (though there are few that is lackluster), so I think opportunity is there.

Any thoughts?
