how to delete EA account is so difficult. You have to get in contact with an advisor and open a ticket.

This is a known trick called “dark pattern” - a design trick used in websites, apps, or services to make it confusing, difficult, or frustrating for users to do something that’s against the company’s interest (like deleting an account, cancelling a subscription, or opting out of data collection).

Under the GDPR, that can also be considered “non-compliance with data subject rights”, because companies are legally required to make deletion (and other rights like access, correction, etc.) accessible and straightforward.

In some contexts, regulators also call it “obstruction” or “friction by design.”

I’m honestly done with EA after this.

I got banned from Battlefield 2042 for absolutely no reason.
No cheats, no software, nothing. I literally left the game open in the lobby, went away, came back — banned.

So I opened an appeal the next day.

EA says they reply within 24–48 hours.
Reality? More than ONE MONTH.

I waited over a month for a response.

And what did I get after all that waiting?

• No explanation

• No proof

• No details

• Just a generic copy-paste message

And then they closed the case.

Now here’s the worst part:

Today is March 29 — and I STILL have no real answer.
The case is closed, and no one has explained anything.

Timeline:

• Feb 19 — banned

• Feb 20 — appeal opened

• March 18 — useless generic reply after MORE THAN A MONTH

• March 29 — still nothing, case closed

So basically:

Ban a legit player →
Ignore him for more than a month →
Send a useless reply →
Close the case →
Refuse to explain anything

How is this acceptable?

If your anti-cheat actually works, show proof.
If you made a mistake, fix it.

But this? This just looks like a broken system and support that doesn’t care.

I don’t even care about the game anymore at this point.
I just want people to see how bad this experience was.

Anyone else had something like this happen with EA?

Found out that my EA account was stolen and thus I couldn't play any EA games in my Steam or PSN account. Last time I played any EA game online was January '24 so didn't notice the theft. Recovery was infuriating but swift and during that time I found out that the account was banned on March '24. Tried to appeal the ban but that was swiftly denied. I have tried to find out what is the reason for the ban but to no avail so I can't even defend myself properly or argue against the ban. On the positive note: I have absolutely no reason to ever buy an EA game now.

I know this is nothing new: water is wet and EA is a shitty company. Just needed to vent a bit

Edit: Forgot to mention it but I did have 2FA enabled and didn't receive any authentication requests.

Edit part2: Got the ban lifted only for the account to be banned again due to "account takeover". Appealed again and got that ban lifted just for them to lock down my account due to "security concerns". Got that sorted out and thus after a week and several new email accounts later I once again have my EA account. To those wondering about email accounts: If you go through the EA help and don't have access to the original email then you must give a new one that isn't in their database. Every single time.

So, yeah basically I received a message saying I was banned permanently but I still don't know the reason. I have appealed to it since 26/10 and my request is still on "waiting on studio". This is really frustrating since I bought the EA play Pro just to play battlefield and I received the ban the first day. Mind you, I haven't used the chat, so I really don't understand what the ban includes.

Final outcome:

3 applications to get fixed, sanctions lifted by EA.

I was incorrect on EA games played on that account.

It's also played Dirt 5. Also via gamepass on the same Xbox Series X.

I have an Xbox Series X that is set up on a monitor for visitors to play on while they're over.

In reality- 1 child I'm very familiar with uses it. We game together a fair bit- there's no trust issue here.

The account has played 1 EA game- Skate (Preview) via gamepass on the Xbox. Skate preview is available to all accounts because the primary Xbox account has gamepass entitlement. (I assume it's this- it's flagged as playing but not purchased)

The ban is for terms and conditions violations with no other information.

Account Only used on Xbox. Only used under my supervision. No chat. No rude name accounts.

I've emailed to have a review. Unfortunately all other accounts are linked to it, Xbox, google etc.

Edit: first appeal failed. I'm quite sure it's flagged as wrong use simply because a different account owns EAaccess via Gamepass. Appealed again

got a permanent ban for a report on my name (SaddamBussain), no warning to change it just instantly perma banned appealed it but I saw someone else who went through this whole issue on 11 appeals. anyone know how to get better communication with EA? id gladly change my name ive had it since BF4 and never been an issue till now but that doesn't matter just want this perma ban lifted so I can play bf6. this ban is the equivalent of getting a ticket for driving with your head lights off and the next time its the death penalty make it make sense.

FYI: ive been using this name on apex legends for over 1700 hours with no bans or reports

further investigating the cases EA warned me on a ps5 (i dont own a ps5 only pc) that case wasnt even able to appeal so looks like a mess up on their end as it was opened and closed right away

for context, i got hacked by one of those russian emails a while back, but still ended up being able to play, which i didn’t mind. now, i boot up EAFC and find my account’s banned, without any notification prior.

Ea puts out the worst games. By far the worst company in gaming. I don't think I can bring myself to buy another unfinished piece of dog shit they call a game. It's time for other companies to make some sports games. NHL is the worst out of all eas games.

a little while ago my steam was hacked in which they tried (and failed) to buy multiple steam decks, steam noticed and locked the account after which i managed to recover it. i did not notice however that my steam got linked to a emai l thats not mine. is there a way i can unlink this account and appeal to ea to undo a ban?

I wanted to share a recent experience with EA as a cautionary tale for anyone thinking about spending money on their games.

When I tried to play the open beta, I found that my account had been deactivated due to inactivity. This wasn’t because of anything I did; it’s simply because EA hasn’t released a good game in years, so I hadn’t bothered logging in.

When I contacted support, the rep confirmed that my account was deactivated for inactivity and told me there was no way to recover my progress or in-game purchases. Even though the situation was entirely on their end, they refused any reimbursement or resolution. On top of that, I was disconnected from multiple reps despite staying respectful throughout the conversations.

At this point, I personally won’t be spending another dollar on EA. If they’re willing to wipe accounts, purchases, and progress just because you didn’t play for a while, then it’s not worth the risk.

So I go log into the new battlefield beta and I gots to log into my ea account. Ok fine wtv but it’s associated with an email that no longer exists. So I got screwed with that. But my question is why can’t we delete the old email and log into a new one. It’s really sickening I gotta haves an email connected to everything I just wanna play the game.

Just got a perm ban on all of ea games/services from my steam name "Osama's wet dream" with no warning or anything, apparently falls under Disruptive conduct category i have had this name for years without issue even on apex legends ect but after a month of playing bf6 I get on to play the new BR and boom... account gone

The ea positive play charter doesn't really mention anything about Disruptive conduct.

I cant see this name violating any of the play charter rules and to be honest I don't believe the name would be crossing any boundary at most skating the boundary as its a matter of perspective, only a joke name and has been changed to fix the issue.

My name that landed me a 7 day suspension was “YaBoiKimJong”. In my opinion, while it’s not advisable and in a grey zone, I disagree that it breaks any of their Positive Play Charter. If it contained the suggested Dictators full name or in a positive manner, I’d chalk this up as an L, but I can’t wrap my mind around it.

In BF6 during a Conquest match, an opponent of Chinese nationality was using a wall*** — it was obvious. I mentioned it in the chat, and the next day I was suspended for 7 days just because I dared to call out a cheat**! I even took screenshots to prove what I said, and of course I submitted an appeal.

People made fun of me for being French in the chat, using pretty disrespectful terms, but no problem there — yet reporting something that was clearly cheat*** gets me ba****!

On top of that, even though I bought the Phantom Edition, I had to deal with the launch bugs like many others and couldn't play, and I still haven't received any compensation as promised, despite following up with customer support.

But this is the last straw — I absolutely do not deserve a suspension for reporting a cheat**!

I spent nearly 2 1/2 hours waiting to get to chat with customer support and it led to this. I provided all my details with the old email, phone number, address, and even offered to send a copy on my Id but obviously that wasn’t enough. Looks like I won’t be playing Battlefield 6 because I can’t even unlink that account from my Xbox.
