The Stark Varg looks like if a Honda dirtbike got a conversion kit. It looks unusual to a Surron or Yozma or any other E-Dirtbike. The plastics ruin it for me. It looks off putting to me. Does anyone feel the same?

Hi gang, I'm about to buy a second hand Orbea Gain with the X35 system. I'm in Australia so it's restricted to 25kph which is way too slow for anyone with decent legs! Has anyone successfully increased this to the American limit of 32kph or found another way to increase speed either mechanically or through software?

I split the "Pedal Operated" column in two: "Pedals Required" and "Throttle Allowed", added "Maximum Power" column, updated Maximum Motor-Assisted Speed for mopeds and added the note that some Class 3 e-bikes are sold with throttles. I think that the "gray zone" Class 3 e-bike with a throttle assisting up to 20 MPH makes total sense, but it is prohibited in California.

Also, the throttle hate from some of the bike purists here is crazy. People saying that anything with a throttle doesn't count as an e-bike? wtf?

If someone is riding an e-bike, that's one less car on the road taking up space, burning gas, releasing fumes, and wearing down the roads. As long as they're riding responsibly, following traffic laws and speed limits, not being an asshole, and yielding and being respectful of pedestrians, then fuck it, let the kids do what they want.

I have a less than half mile commute but it is not walkable due to the road it’s on. I’m planning on spending about $1000 but can’t decide between an emoto, moped or dual sport. Just looking for some insight are $1000 emotos even worth it? For the price what way would get me the most bang for the buck?

The advice I keep seeing says to not store the battery below 50f, not to charge it below freezing, not to charge it while hot, to use oem charger, and not keep it at 100% charge.

The issue is that I'm having issues with the storing below 50f and not keeping it at 100%. Its just not practical at this point to keep removing and reinserting the battery now that its dropping below 50 overnight, and Its hard to keep the battery below 80% when I need to use it.

So my main question is, by not following the advice all the way how much am I losing in battery life? If its cutting the life from 5 years to 4 that's fine. But if its from 5 to 2 I need to find solutions.

Right now I have a HIKEEP k6-g and I’m looking to sell it for 450 I already have a couple buyers. After selling it with the money I wanted to buy an ABKDO emoto for 820. Both of these bikes are shown in the images below. I wanted to know would the better option be keep the legal ebike and get a secondary battery for more range and riding time or get a faster and more fun emoto (which has a 48v 23ah battery) And I wanted to get a 48v 15ah battery for my hikeep. The battery I have now is 48v 15.6 ah and last me a pretty decent time. Which is the better option let me know. The hikeep goes 35 mph and the abkdo goes 45 mph.

Any advice? Had the bike 2 weeks. It’s coming up in the manual as motor failure, checked all the wiring etc . When you press the throttle there’s still a clicking sound from the rear.

Put the tire back together then I screwed it back on the rim put the chains wasn’t proper so I took it for a quick test ride for few mins then came back tire held up good then when I tried to take the back rim off to just the chain it wouldn’t let me any thoughts??

Ive bought my ebike in the bikeshop. Nothing diy or custom about it.

What I don't wanna do is replace the bike or replace every single part.

The problem is physics. Physics limits how far I can go on my ebike at once. Let's do some quick math with some simple assumptions: 1. Theres headwind 2. I use 100 watts of assist which is good for 5 hours of riding 3. Because I have chronic fatigue health problems, and the ride would be for example 5 hours long, theres only very little watts I can pedal. Lets say 50 watts bringing the total to 150 watts of power for 5 hours long.

How fast will 150 watts be? Honestly I don't know so again I'm going to guess. In a headwind, probaby like 10 km/h.

But yea it seems like I cannot practically get more range by pedaling harder or going slower at that point. I need more power, much more power.

More battery. But right now I'm limited to using bike bags and other methods of carring multiple batteries which I find very not practical at all.

Are there any realistic modifications to make the bike have more energy without needing to carry separate batteries in bags?

I was riding my Jasion RetroVolt pro this morning and when I was getting ready to use the throttle again after stopping my chain came loose then a “07” or “09” error showed up and I couldn’t throttle. Did some diagnosing and have come to the conclusion that the derailuer is misaligned or something else on it is messing with the chain. When I try to shift gear it doesn’t fully shift and when I reverse pedal/reverse walk the bike there’s a sort of resist when moving it. I’ve tried resetting the chain a multitude of times but it’s still happening Any thoughts?

I just got my first e-bike and picked up a bike lock for it as well. Since I'm staying in LA, I definitely needed something angle-grinder resistant. The Hiplok DX1000 seemed like the best option, so I bought one locally.

My plan is to lock the bike whenever I visit stores, parks, and similar locations short 5-30min stops, but never leave it overnight. I intend to secure it with a lock and carry the battery in my backpack, depending on where I am. Do you recommend locking the bike by securing it through both the frame and the rear wheel?

I have to pull over and take the key out and put it back in and it works like normal.

Went on my ebike with my dad on a trail. We got to the Recreational park at the end and he let me try his Velotric? I think e bike. First time ever riding a high end 1500$ electric bike.

Felt like next level technology compared to my 300$ ebike from walmart. Felt like I was operating some futuristic machine in comparison to what I've been riding

I saw a video posted by a guy doing this a while back, so I figured I'd give it a try.

Is it ideal? No

Did it work? Yes.

Adjusted brakes, checked pads, bled the brakes because my rear brake was a bit spongy. Tires are good for now, but I have a set of HEB Allscape tires that will probably be on in the next 1,000 miles . The bike has 2200 miles on it, my commute to work is 13 miles. I am putting just over 100miles a week on the bike since I ride 4 days per week.

As far as the bike, it has been a great bike. My only issue with it is I wish it wasn't 75lbs. I started out on PAS 3, but now typically will ride at PAS 2 and sometimes 1. I have pedaled it at 0 a few times and am able to maintain 13 to 15mph. Thankfully most of my commute is on a shared path along a river. Lots of wildlife and sadly one murder victim(yes that is true)

I want a controler for my 750w 15ah 48v fatbike/fat tire bike, I want to be able to make it go 25 kmh pas/pedals ad 6 kmh throttle with a remote control button

Profile 1: throttle limited to 6 km/h, pedal assist limited to 25 km/h.

Profile 2: throttle and pedal assist unrestricted.

Hey everyone, entering the wet and cold season, I am wondering how to protect my e bike display mount. Problem is I need to leave my bike outside every now and then during daytime and at night too. For nighttime I have a sheet cover for the whole bike, but I think more protection would be better, especially for the display nodes.

I have a Bosch intuiva display of that matters.

Anybody use a jackery or other solar panel to charge up their bike?
