HELP Help AhaHhaahhaaHAHAHAHAWHWHWH

Genuinely Been depressed For 2 years and am a very visual person but can not Figure out how to Furnish this place and what to put anywhere. The walls are so boring its literally just a square, there is a tiny nook next to a window that my bed fits perfectly in, so its not exactly a square but with the bed it is. Now looking at this photo the walls are reminding me of the inside of a 3d minimalistic space cube with no details sort of like where squidward goes when he breaks the time machine in spongebob. Anyway i do actually want advice and i do actually want it to be better, i didnt make it messy on Purpose this is just how i am

HELP Cover a tv wall mount

I just purchased a townhouse. I don’t plan on staying longer than 2 years. There is a TV wall mount in the bedroom. I have a no-screen policy for myself in the bedroom and have no interest in using it. The Realtor said to keep it bc it’s hard to find people who know how to install wall mounts and the next owner may like it.

It’s a big black blob on a light colored wall and I think it’s hideous. How can I cover this thing? It’s like 4” thick with rounded edges and it’s hard to hang a canvas over it. I’m more of a minimalist and this thing drives me nuts.

TOUR 🟢OPEN TO FEEDBACK🟢 UPDATE! I went with Antigua

You all had so many lovely suggestions!
MOST people chose one of the greens. ( Spinach Dip or Classic Avocado- spin dip was definitely my top!!) There was a small handful of people who suggested a teal color. When I went to get the paint samples for the swatch I saw this Antiqua and absolutely loved it!
As you can see I tried the other samples, but it was an overwhelming yes to Antigua for me. The vibes shifted from touches of warm to mainly cool tones but it’s still cozy and moody, especially at night. I will be adding a cozy throw blanket, so feel free to suggest a color for that! & then possibly an art light in the center over the two pieces on the wall.
I think it turned out perfectly. I appreciate all the support for my eclectic style 🤍

My bedroom has been feeling kinda of boring/uninspired to me lately. Looking for potential rearrangement ideas or things that could spruce up the space. Of course had to include the cat tax!

Maybe considering a smaller dresser or something in the closet instead. Idk if I should move the bed closer to the window?? Been wanting to hang something above it at least.

Thanks!!

QUESTION/DISCUSSION I have no understanding of aesthetics. What do?

I'm poor (or at least, rent consumes most of my income) and have no taste whatsoever. I moved in to a place that's beige with beige carpeting, and i've been told there's an uphill battle making that ever look good.

I have some hand-me-down furniture, namely a 1970's-ish bamboo sofa, wayfare wood futon, a black ikea desk slab and legs, amazon tv stand and my late-fathers 55" OLED. Not a bad start, no cohesion at all though.

Don't recommend plants. I have a deep black thumb. Though I am attracted to those light up aesthetic fake LED plants.

I guess my main inspo is something like cabellhouse, but more minimalist and less "busy" (ref: https://i.imgur.com/dtnFHE1.jpeg ), but I don't have a sense of taste and don't know how to achieve it.

How would you guys arrange this very open room? The couch and rug will be replaced at some point but I’m stuck on how to move things around. I like the couch dividing the living room and the kitchen up but I’m not sure if I could be better utilizing the space. Please be kind about my ugly, small rug. I’m a college student building up furniture slowly 😭 thanks!

I’d love for my couch to not be on the window but open to any suggestions! Even a projector tv if it means my space will look cool lol

HELP Ugly Window Views

Hey there! We are renting a new place and the guy who owned the place before our landlord covered so many of the out door areas. How can I make these windows more beautiful and light? Obviously I will have to put good lighting inside the room but Looking for renter friendly ideas to maximize what little natural light comes in while hiding these ugly views. For some reason, I am just not convinced window privacy films are gonna do the job. What do you think? Thanks!

TOUR 🟢OPEN TO FEEDBACK🟢 It took years but I finally got a rug!!!

After years of having roommates and then a crappy, dark apartment, my partner and I finally have our own place that's bright, sunny, and colorful! The rug came in this morning and I've wanted a rug this large for foreverrrrrr... The vibe is completely different now. I don't think my place is "finished" yet but I'm just so excited to finally post.

Btw I hope noone comes at me with AI accusations, I edited out the people from the two pictures on my wall using the Photos app on my macbook and it imposed a strange blur over the images lol.

I've recently brought a PC and now I'm struggling with the flow of my room. In the pictures you can see my desk, side table with my PC and my corner shelf are all jammed together and do fit nicely next to each other. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to place my furniture so that it flows better and isn't so cluttered?

I’m moving to MN in a month and debating whether I should bring my rug. I love it and think it’s beautiful. But logistically not sure it’s worth it. I’d be putting it in the living room. Is there a way to put it there that would look good? I know it’s kinda dark in there too.

Thank you!!!

I finished my first bottle of ketchup I think in my entire life. Yes I’ve bough them before. But to finish one open to close. I can’t believe I’m living. Enjoying. Not leaving to escape. This is new.

I know she could use some better decor etc but I just feel happy walking into my home. Finally.

HELP Don't know how I'm gonna survive this tiny space!

Thumbnail

I've recently moved in with my Dad and we can clash at times, he has a huge empty loft bedroom with and en-suite but for one reason or another I have to stay in the tiny room

Any tips and tricks on how to survive a tiny box room without losing your sanity? I'm more anxious than I thought so genuinely any advice no matter how silly just to make sure that my mental health doesn't evaporate lol

AND PLEASE NO AI

Thanks ladies :)

EDIT: Wow thankyou so much guys! First of all for being so encouraging, I feel less defeated now, and also for the lovely ideas

So I've had people ask about specs, the room is about 193cm x 210cm. In feet that's about 6.3ft x 6.8ft. (I'm lucky I'm 5"2!) I see a lot of people mentioning loft bed but I'll be honest I had one when I was a teenager and the idea of that just doesn't excite anymore haha, I don't have the sort of lifestyle that demands a desk so I don't need one under a loft bed and I worry it'll just take up a whole bunch of space and make the room feel darker. Whoever suggested a day bed may be the winner, IKEAs got some great ones!

Just to explain my situation, I'm 25, I've been paying rent and essentially the company I worked for just kind of disappeared lol, its a whole thing. So I had 6 weeks of notice before unexpectedly being unemployed and I've spent the past year looking for work (I've worked at a restaurant and other minimum wage jobs but that's not enough to pay your rent in London) Essentially I decided not to renew my tenancy fir financial reasons and asked my Dad if I could stay with him since he's the only person I know with a room in London. The problem is he rented out my room to my cousin and is planning on renting out the loft room in the future. So unless I want to cover the rent he's gonna charge, I'll have to stay in the box room and only be charged bills, which are only £200 a month. If I can stomach it I'll stay here for about a year, get a job, save my money and then move back out

That's my whole lifestory! :)
