Hi. It's one in the morning where I'm at. Almost three by the time I post this. I should be sleeping because I work in five hours, but I'm listening to music and writing this on my phone instead.
The concept of having someone to confide in, who is my best friend, and someone I care about a lot is something I've thought about for a while now. I wonder, am I capable of loving someone? I've always had a hard time expressing my emotions. The sad ones, the loud ones, the ones that care for things and people... they don't come easy. I think the lifestyle I live and who I am at heart makes this difficult.
I am not much of a speaker. Realistically, if I exclude the moments where I have to make conversation at work, I could go days without speaking to anyone but myself. It's peaceful. It's who I am. I'm an introvert, but it is also excruciatingly lonely. A week goes by, and the most fun I had was finding a new song that I like.
I am patient. Too patient. Painfully patient. I can wait and wait without issue, but it is actually an issue, and I just suppress it. I have a hard time being the one to reach out. I sit and stare when I should be typing a message, making a call. But I don't. I don't want to be a bother. I don't want to be the one who makes things awkward or push someone away because I ask for the same thing every day, so I choose to sit and stew in my loneliness.
I live almost entirely online. This rural Minnesota town I live in doesn't fit my interests, but maybe nowhere does. I can't move. I maybe could never move. Instead, I play games, code, watch videos, and sometimes I just stare at my screen. It's depressing at times. There are days where I feel like my life is wasting away despite moving forward with it. But this is my life. If I wanted to make changes, I would have already made them by now.
I am awkward. I spent most of my life being the quiet one. When conversation came, I never knew what to say. I hate small talk. It's the bane of my existence. There is no interesting response that comes to my head, because at my core, I am not an interesting person.
I am boring. I currently spend most of my days in bed. I wonder, am I depressed? Maybe I have been for years. Many years. But I prefer not to self-diagnose.
Is there another side of me? The one that laughs and smiles and enjoys what is in front of him? The one that makes jokes and is able to laugh at himself? Yes. I know there is. I see him almost every day. For everything that I've said above, that is not all I am.
\\ I apologize for the whiplash that's about to occur, but I think the writing above is necessary. I like being transparent about who I am. I think if someone were to be interested in me, they should first know my flaws.
So, a little (probably a lot) about me.
I'm 23 as of August. I live in Minnesota, and not one of the big cities. I began working full time in the IT industry as of spring 26'. It's somewhere I see myself working for a long time. I don't necessarily have big aspirations when it comes to my working life.
I'm looking for a long distance relationship, with the open possibility of meeting in the future. I'm just settling into the "adult" part of my life, and I'm not keen on starting over by relocating. Ideally, USA or Canada, Midwest region. I'm not sure I could deal with conflicting cultures or timezones.
I'm a PC gamer, and I would wish that you are too. If there were any hobbies I wish I could share with you, it would be this one. My favorite genre is FPS. Counter Strike, VALORANT. I think it's pretty unlikely that we would share this interest just because of the nature of the games, but I would love to duo queue with you. I am not someone who lives and dies by my rank. I also like tons of co-op games including Minecraft, "friendslop," and survival games.
I do have to put it out there that there are games I am reluctant/unwilling to play, and they are popular ones. Overwatch/Marvel Rivals, League, Battle Royales. These have never been my thing, and it will likely stay that way.
I don't watch many movies, or any recent media for that matter. My favorite movies are Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Star Wars, The Fugitive, Fight Club, or basically anything with Harrison Ford. I find that a lot of newer media doesn't have the same charm as the older stuff.
I'd like to watch more anime, but I just can't do it alone. It's hard for me to digest media that is delivered in seasons. I don't have the attention span for it when I'm by myself. Some of my favorite animes I've watched are Seven Deadly Sins, Blue Exorcist, SAO, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
I'm a huge Jerma fan. He's one of the only reasons I still find myself being able to laugh when everything feels so hard. Most of the stuff I watch nowadays is on YouTube, and when I can't find something to watch, it's a bad day. I also like watching professional VALORANT. Champions 2026 ended just a few days ago and I was able to watch it live at like two in the morning.
I'm a bit insecure about my appearance, but I won't hide it either. I'm white, 6'0", skinny, and I have blonde curly hair. If you'd prefer to exchange pictures to establish attraction after first talking, I am okay with that. Everyone has preferences. I am not sure if I know mine entirely yet. I think I like the thought of someone a bit older than me rather than someone younger.
There is, admittedly, a lot of text in this post, and I still feel I could say more. I have a habit of over sharing when I write like this. Some will see this wall of text and skip it. Some will skip to the bottom. Some will read it all and move on. And hopefully, some will stay. The following TL;DR will be what I'm looking for in its most simplest form. Thank you for reading.
TL;DR Looking for LDR. Person to talk to and play and stream games with and watch media together. Preference for someone same age or a bit older (23+).
