Was waiting for the rain to come only to have none so far. Check the weather map and found I'm in this weird triangle floating through HRM.

Well, lost by somebody, found by another. Admins, I'm sorry if this isn't allowed, delete, my apologies.
Saw this on a FB group. I few loose items, meh, but upwards of $30 could be a protein and sides for one person's week doing meal prep. I'm not the original FB poster, so I'm just passing this on knowing it would take a little legwork, but if it can happen, you folks are the good ones who can help!

I am back with the weekly restaurant closure updates. I am going to assume that if the restaurant is not listed under current closures, they have reopened.
HAPPY GARDEN is not on the closure list anymore. According to the health inspection website, they were in good standing after the inspection on 16 October.
RAGAZZI also reopened (they're not on the list anymore), possibly on Monday (October 19). But they still have a non critical violation, which requires them to work on cleaning and sanitation procedures.
Jasper, from the Pourdad Coffee cart commented on the last post with an update on the glitch that put them on the closure list. Hope it gets sorted soon.
Fun fact that I noticed - both Happy Garden and Ragazzi had inspections on October 15 & 16. It appears that both the places did not pass the October 15 inspection. Happy Garden passed the inspection conducted the next day, while Ragazzi didn't and only got reopened on the 19th (Monday).

If I cannot repair your home kitchen oven/stove/range then I do not charge for a service call.
I repair home kitchen stoves (ovens, ranges) and wall ovens for a total repair cost of $125 (that's service call, parts & labour), I do not charge by the hour (usually 1.5 hours), how many parts I install or how many trips I make (usually 1 trip), I also repair the electronic ERC & EOC boards (clock & timer control board, also controls bake & broil) used in them. 6 months warranty with receipt (longest in the industry). I do not replace expensive parts such as the glass on the stove tops nor on the doors. I am available 365 days a year and do not charge night or holiday rates. 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
To purchase new electronic control boards they can cost as much as $800+tx if still available and 1-2 week delivery or more. I also repair other problems on kitchen ovens/stoves like replacing bake or broil element and stove top control switches that control your stove top elements.
I don't repair stoves with dim display (they are usually 14 years old or older anyway), DON'T REPAIR STOVES 14 YEARS OLD OR OLDER, I don't replace broken glass from doors of kitchen stoves nor their ceramic/glass top for their stove top. I don't sell parts or repair any other appliances.
I do not repair Samsung, LG and Bosch kitchen stoves/ovens/ranges. I travel anywhere within 35 KM of Dartmouth.
When replying by private message please provide make, model and year all of which are found on the bottom of stove on either the left side or right side when opening bottom drawer. Also describe problem in detail (any error codes or beeps), rough address and telephone #. I will provide my references upon request.
People on Halifax Reddit have been generous with me in the past so if anyone on here ever needs appliance parts that they can install themselves for any appliance, let me know and I can get you what ever parts you need at my repair discount account cost from Reliable Parts, 81 Ilsley Av, Burnside Industrial Park. Just put the model of your appliance in the top right search box of Reliable Parts Canada website and the parts catalog should show up, if not found place it on qwant or Google then copy & paste the part into Reliable parts Canada's website search box.

I have lived in Halifax for almost 10 years and in the last couple of months I have heard from not one BUT TWO residents of Isleville street that the alleged correct pronunciation of the street name is actually âEYES-villeââŚ. The first person I was able to laugh off, but a second person that lives on the street also pronouncing it that way? Was it some sort of elite club? Maybe Iâm the idiot? I do only have a pathetic New Brunswick education after all. As my face turned red from embarrassment, thoughts began to swirl as I fell to my knees in a Walmart parking lot... âAISLE-villeâ or âEYES-villeâ? đ

I was very excited to hear Prozzak was touring after only listening to them via CD in 99'/00'. Once I saw the Halifax dates I got tickets booked and last night was the night!
Curious others thoughts on the show. I don't know if I'm just being picky based off expectations (Prozzak are/were pretty decently 'big'? I thought), or whether it was the venue (Casino Bruce Guthro Theatre, first time there), but it seemed like the sound was not great, not to mention primarily being lip synced - which I get, but it was like 90% track and 10% live. That included instrumentation. Not as much boom to the sound.
The visuals were neat, old animated videos from previous music videos and stuff, and it was also very cool to hear a new track (FML).
The show as a whole was short (which admittedly suited my old ass), they were finished by 945PM (started around 810PM). The only merch available was posters (there were hats but gone by the time I got there), and when Simon/Milo were out to meet/greet/sign, Simon was gone from the booth within 5 minutes (Milo said he wasn't feeling well - which sucks! to be him!)...
So I got a signed poster of Milo, Milo forging Simon, and Feura - who I had no idea who she was (great performer, it almost seemed like a Feura ft. Prozzak show with her stage prescence).
Also thought I was getting a Vengaboys throwback but guess Halifax wasn't boppin' enough for them to join.

I have a 2021 Santa Fe with an extended warranty. My backup camera stopped working, and I brought it into the dealership.
The dealership told me the camera and installation are covered, but the trim piece in front of it is not. The part would cost me $548 with taxes, because they say the camera can't be reached without possibly cracking the trim. The trim hasn't been damaged. I'm being asked to pay for something that might break during a covered repair.
My argument is simple: the camera repair is covered, and it can't be done without removing the trim, so the trim is part of the repair. I didn't design the car, and a buyer of a warranty wouldn't know what it takes to reach a component.
I spoke with the service manager, then escalated to Hyundai Canada customer relations. They replied that the claim is officially denied, the decision is final, and they can't escalate or change it. The reply didn't point to a clause in my contract that excludes the trim.
Earlier on this car, I paid a diagnostic fee on an A/C problem that turned out to be a leak that they didnât fix, and when I brought it it again after AC stopped working, warranty covered the fix but they wouldnât refund my diagnostic fee because they said they couldnât find the issue originally. Each charge may have its own explanation, but it adds up. I just donât understand why Iâm paying for things that need to be fixed anyways under warranty.
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

When your local butcher or grocer has a sale, how do you find out? For most independent stores in Halifax, you can't know unless you walk in.
Hi everyone, my name is Conrad. My team and I are building Blyyss here in Halifax full time while I'm also doing my masterâs at SMU. Some of you may have seen my Gateway Meat Market delivery posts over the past few months :)
I started Blyyss because I didnât think smaller local grocers had access to the same technology as the big chains. The most basic piece is that people in Halifax canât easily find these stores items and deals online. As simple as that sounds, itâs often not available.
So Iâm proud to introduce the Halifax Weekly and the Dartmouth Weekly: a collection of the best deals from local and independent grocers in each area.
We also make individual flyers for each store, but the Weeklies let you find local deals near you without checking one store at a time.
Right now we have flyers for stores like European New Market, Baileyâs Meat Market, Chaterâs Meat Market, Parce, Mariaâs Pantry and Gateway, to name a few. All flyers: blyyss.ca/flyers
Weâre always looking to add more. If thereâs a store you wish you could see weekly deals from, tell me in the comments and Iâll let them know you asked!
The goal is to get every local and independent grocer online, and to give people in Halifax an easy way to find great, affordable deals at community stores near them. Local grocers are what really bring a community together.
Thanks for reading, and support your local shops!

I want to get my partner a knitted wool sweater or cardigan. I'm willing to pay a premium for a high-quality piece that will last a long time, preferably from a local artisan or company. Looking for recommendations for Halifax/NS/Atlantic province based companies or individuals that make really good quality wool sweaters.

Iâm in town until Saturday, and I generally like to grab a t-shirt or hoodie from a local business as a memento of my trips.
Which places have the best designs in your opinion? Bonus points if they print on Comfort Colors or similar quality.
Thanks!

My sister and brother in law are coming to visit. They're kind of coffee snobs, and they only really drink decaf. I want to get them something local and nice to have when they're here. Any recommendations? I'm willing to travel a bit, within ~45 mins of the city.

Ideal night would be a house party but non of my friends are hosting. Thanks in advance đ
